Ooh, the fight! I mean, I think Pam has to win, because Jim won't be willing to pick her up after that memory hits him...but I'm open to whatever you decide!
Author's Response: Thanks for voting--I just posted chapter 3 so you can see the results.

Great premise! Although, Pam having an awful time at the beach is what pushed her to do the coal walk and then confront her coworkers and Jim.
She’s not having such a bad time now. I wonder where this will go. Can’t wait to read what comes next!!!
Author's Response: Yes, Pam's awful time in that episode was definitely a motivator, but she's also been working up to this, what with her pledge to be more honest and her ending things with Roy, plus fancy, new, confident Beesly. But who's to say Jim's attention to her won't inspire her just as much? I just posted chapter 2. Hope you like where this goes.

Oh I like this. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what happens here with Karen out of the picture. I really like that Jim is the one to start putting out feelers of their old friendship towards Pam. It feels a lot like he's trying to repair the rift between them. Even still there's just a hint of heartbreak to have the reader remember they're not quite there yet.
However the sight of Pam in a bikini and a day at the beach might just change his mind a bit. Really looking forward to seeing how this one goes.
Author's Response: Yep, you are so good at intuiting where I'm taking things! Recovering their old friendship will be the main focus here, but love of course is very tangled up in it too. And you're totally right about Jim seeing Pam in a bikini--that's definitely going to be a game changer. Thanks so much for the awesome review! Just posted chapter 2...

Already hooked and Jim without Karen is a much better Jim. Love the soft yet tense dynamic between Jim and Pam yet I also know Jim is going to get the shock of his life soon. Great story set up and I cant wait to see what you do with it moving forward.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I liked Karen and all, she just wasn't right for Jim, so I definitely try to break them up early every chance I get, lol. So glad you are enjoying this so far. Chapter 2 is up now :)

So excited that you're writing this!
This is a refreshing take on Beach Games
because not only is Karen absent, but a few of the other coworkers are "seeing " Pam, being kind and helping her out. (Especially Jim!) A much better day for her!
I thought it was very realistic that Pam would not have chosen to sit next to Jim on the bus, good call.
And finally, love your description of Pam enjoying herself in the sun... that orange glow beneath her eyelids- describes it perfectly! You're making me miss the beach myself! ;)
Thanks for writing!
Author's Response: Your review was very kind and wonderfully in depth. Thanks so much for taking the time. I'm feeling very encouraged right now :) So glad you like some of my plot choices. Chapter 2 is up now. I'd love to hear what you think.

I love this premise! You did a great job of setting the plot up! I can't wait to see what's next!
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you're liking this! Your wait is over--chapter 2 is up now :)

Not gonna lie, you got me feeling kinda bad for Karen. A death in the family is not a fun time, even if it is a distant relation. Karen is off comforting her mom, and Jim gets to reconnect with Pam. I hope Jim doesn't do anything too drastic on the beach.
The egg scene was especially effective for driving the point home of how distant and hurt these two are at this point, I really disliked it- in a good way.
Really enjoying the premise though, looking forward to reading more.
Author's Response: Yes, losing someone is hard and sad (I just lost my mom 2 months ago), but I tried to think of something serious enough (but not too terrible) that would keep Karen from being there to watch over Jim and Pam, and this was the best I could do. I'm glad you are hanging in there for more. Thanks for the review!

Now I really wish that Karen hadn't have gone to the beach on the show lol. This is great, though! I'm excited to see Jim's thoughts!
Author's Response: Thank you! I hope you continue to enjoy it. I just posted chapter 2, where we'll definitely be seeing into Jim's head.
