Rereading this again because truly there is too little of stories like this and i think this nay be my favorite chapter. Especially this section:
"Who is she without Roy? Without Jim? A receptionist who likes to draw doodles no one would see. She’d been a ball-and-chain fianc? to one and an easily discarded crush to the other. It’s humiliating.
Never again.
Pam needs to get out. Not today, not tomorrow—even now it is not in her nature to be impulsive. But soon. Somehow, she’ll make her way out. Roy, Jim, Michael be damned; Fancy New Beesly refuses to be defined by only the men around her anymore."
Especially the last line. While i adore her character arc it really could have been more, especially in the last season; it dropped off for me in s7 onwards because the writers didnt know how to write her without the relationship drama. So im getting really attached to this story.

First of all wow. Im already speed reading through this. Im so incredibly hurt for Pam but her determination here, even if it's fueled by anger is admirable and it's really refreshing to read. Excited for more. And for everything to become better for her.

I can’t believe you’re back with this story!
When I saw that you posted an update I really thought I was hallucinating. 😂
I just wish I had seen that you updated three days ago but I’ve been crazy busy with school.
I’m glad you didn’t think I was nagging you about updating all this time, but I was afraid you had given up on this story. I can understand writer’s block.
I have to say that even though Pam gave Jim a small smile I hope she doesn’t give into him easily because he really did mess up with her.
I’m not sure what to think about Karen in this chapter by going up to Pam’s desk and acting friendly to her.
It comes off as being vindictive but I kind of like it because Jim deserves to be tortured a bit.
It always annoyed me that Jim is the one who started the problem between himself, Pam, Karen and even Roy, but acted like he was the innocent victim. 😡
I can’t help but be curious about what Roy is up to during everything we are seeing with Jim and Pam at the office. The jellybeans bag being left on Jim’s desk reminds of when Pam gave Jim the teapot back in Espionage Act, which I’m also excited about you updating!

I had to go back to the last chapter to get caught up. Pam's being pretty cold here. It kind of makes sense though. She's trying to make a clean break of things. Thus letting the past go, like not refilling the candy dispenser. I hate to say it might be a touch of too little to late with Jim in this regard. He's making an effort, but with Pam set in her mind to leave, it's hard to see if it'll mean anything.
Then Karen accosts him in the kitchen like that. Not only betraying Pam's trust by telling Jim Pam's secret, but picking the fight. Tons of high emotions everywhere. Then the candy dispenser breaks. Almost feels as if the last vestige of the old Jim and Pam are shattered as well.

Yay an update!
I always get a little jolt of excitement when I
see a new chapter for this story.
I am a little confused by this chapter though.
In the last one,that was in Jim’s POV, it seemed as though Pam had already left Scranton for NY,
but in this update she was still there and won’t leave for another 2 months.
I have to admit that I’m loving how Jim and Karen being together no longer bothers Pam,
and how optimistic she is about her future.
It goes to show that the opposite of love really is indifference. Pam being indifferent will probably hurt Jim more than any anger she has towards him.
I wonder if Karen is going to tell Jim that Pam no longer has feelings for him. The way Karen clung on to Jim in the art store shows how pathetic she was in canon.Pam still being polite to them shows who is really the bigger person in their situation.

I hate how much I love this story! And though it hurts that Pam and Jim are still apart and with no sight of reunion, I love how freely Pam feels now. She'd been held back for years, tied to this or that, and now it's so awesome to see how she spreads her wings.
But I won't lie, this line 'Turns out, giving up on Jim is exactly what she needed to truly become Fancy New Beesly,' brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat.
Wonderfully written, and I'm looking forward to the next part!
