I mean, JIM YOU SHOULD NOT BE UP AND ABOUT WHAT IS BETSY THINKING but yes that is very cute. I am kinda glad Roy did the dirty work for Pam--now she needs to think hard about what she actually wants and not what she's supposed to want.
Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to review. So glad you are enjoying this fic. I've posted the conclusion--hope you get a chance to check it out.

I was on pins and needles almost this whole chapter, waiting waiting waiting for the confrontation that I just knew was going to happen. And then you distracted me in such a lovely way with the steamy shower scene, and I kind of let my guard down and then 😱!!!
This story is so good. I can’t wait to read the aftermath of this fight!
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad my devious distraction of wet Jim could pull you in. I hope you enjoy what's next.

This was quite excellent. The ending with Roy and the coat was a perfect cliffhanger. Personally, while I was reading, I thought about how Pam could have covered the coat being in the hotel room, but when you're that drunk or hungover, logic and thought go out the window. And I'm glad we got to see Jim's mom a bit too. Super cute. Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Wow! Thank you so much! So glad you got into this chapter. But wait, there's more--I just posted ch. 9.

“Best sex of your life, guaranteed.” This line fits so perfectly into this universe. It’s still so very cringe, but totally fits.
You’re kind of giving us the best of both possibilities here. Roy “finding” Jim, but not finding him all at the same time.
Oh. Oh. That’s an amateur move there for Jim - wearing the same coat to work? Not his smoothest moment. This does not bode well at all, for either of them...
Author's Response: Yep--big mistake for Jim to wear that coat--or was it??? I hope you like where things go next. Thanks so much for the review. Ch. 9 is up now.

The shower sex scene was stupid hot, and you've done a really good job writing Roy here - allowing us to really see the depths of his terribleness while also letting him have a brain.
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed the sexytimes--those really are difficult scenes to write, so I appreciate that. Yes, Roy is a bastard, and can come off as stupid, but he does at least have that lizard brain. Thanks for the review. Ch. 9 is up now.

I LOVE this story. Please post more soon!
Author's Response: Thank you! And your wish is my command--ch. 9 is up now.

Oh what a tangled web we weave. So many times it's been said Roy's not violent, but in canon when he's really upset that doesn't seem to be the case. Witnes him breaking up Jim and Pam in "The Alliance," getting him in the face during the basketball game, destroying Poor Richards, and of course storming in at Jim afterwards. The guy does have a temper and that's really shown here. So in that regard Roy feels very much in character.
I really like that Pam was standing up to Roy. Trying her best to get him to leave. Yes Jim is in the bathroom, but it also really feels like she doesn't want to be around him anymore.
I'm glad Jim is there and not really pushing her into anything once they go to his room. Good on him knowing that what she needs is just to be held. Though that shower scene the next morning was just all sorts of hot.
Roy may not be right for Pam, but he's not a complete idiot either. Clearly he was laying in wait. Please don't let us dangle on this cliff for to long.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad I could keep Roy in character for you. He really is a big old bull, isn't he, though probably rightly so in this universe. You don't have to hang on the cliff any longer--ch. 9 is up now.

Yeah, Roy's getting fired. Can't jump a guy on company property like that. Typical Roy though: there's actually no proof Jim wasn't, say, staying next door and offered Pam his overcoat in the cold, or simply walked her back since they were in the same hotel. Or hell, has the same Target brand overcoat as some other dude. No talking, just ranting and then punching. Not that he's wrong, just that he has no subtlety.
I hope Pam has done some thinking because her options are sure closing down.
Good chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I tried to keep Roy in character, similar to how he behaved on the show. Too bad Dwight wasn't there to stop him. I guess Roy was right to follow his instincts in this case. Please check out ch. 9, up now.

Nooooo Jim!!! Come on, change your coat, dude! Awesome chapter, very realistic, down to every detail. I can’t wait to read more.
Author's Response: Thank you so much--your kind words are really appreciated. And wait no more--ch. 9 is up now. :)
Date: August 30, 2020 10:41 am Title: Room 303 (Revisited)
Okay, WOW. I really thought we were safe for at least a little while longer after Roy got knocked out, that ending left me shocked. I can't believe Jim forgot to change his coat, huge mistake on his part. I can't wait for the next chapter to see what happens between them!
Author's Response: Cool I could take you by surprise! Mission accomplished :). And your wait is over--ch. 9 is up now.

I was screaming “JIM DID YOU CHANGE YOUR COAT?” and look what he’s done! As if that wasn’t bad enough he said himself he still smells like Pam! Even Roy isn’t that oblivious. This chapter was so intense (my heart was literally pounding) and Jim’s interaction with his mom was adorable. I don’t want Jim to get hurt but I do want her to break it off with Roy sooooo ;D
Author's Response: Yep, Jim definitely made a mistake--or did he? I'm happy I got you so riled up. Please read ch. 9 now to see what happens next. Thanks for the review.

Oh my gosh, this had me on the edge of my seat! And love how you slipped that shower scene in amidst the anger and angst.
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you felt the suspense. Yes, nothing like some hot, wet Jim to take you off your guard :) Ch. 9 is up now.

This is an interesting take. It's funny how Pam is assertive and stands her ground when she is with Jim but she seems incapable of doing so when she is with Roy. That speaks volumes about the kind of relationship she might have if she'd give it a real chance.
Nice cliffhanger!
Author's Response: You're totally right about Pam. Jim has set her free, I think, but she still feels bound to Roy. I think her "Morgan" persona helped set her on this path. Thanks for the great review. Chapter 9 is up now.
Date: August 22, 2020 10:24 am Title: Room 303
Omg my heart jumped into my throat! I can’t wait to see what happens.
Also I wanted to say I thought it was very realistic to have Jim get annoyed and lose his patience with her a little. Taking care of someone drunk, even if you’re head over heels, is never fun. Add that to the already heightened level of frustration he is dealing with and it paints an accurate picture of a relationship. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you! A great compliment is that I was able to keep things realistic in this silly world of The Office. I really appreciate your encouragement. The next chapter is up now--I'd love to hear what you think.

That was unexpected but excellent! You do such a great job of writing the tension between the two of them. Looking forward to finding out if they get caught.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Cool I'm keeping you on your toes. And wait no more--ch. 8 is up now :)
Date: August 18, 2020 05:42 pm Title: Room 620
I only meant to read one chapter over breakfast this morning, but ended up reading all 7 chapters you have posted.
Your writing is lovely. I love the tension you've created between Pam, Jim and Roy and I'm so excited to see where you go with this!
Date: August 17, 2020 08:27 pm Title: Room 303
I don’t know if I want them to get caught or not, but this is so good!
Si, according to Isabel, Roy is a jerk as always. But he’s still being cheated on. I’m really looking forward to reading how it all goes down. Either way, it’ll be fun
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you're enjoying this. You won't have to wait any longer--chapter 8 is up now.
Date: August 17, 2020 01:50 pm Title: Room 303
ooooh I can't wait for the next chapter! I kind of hope they do get caught but at the same time I don't know what would happen to Jim if they did. This story is so good though, I love it!
Author's Response: Thank you! And sorry to keep you waiting so long, but the next chapter is up now! I hope you get the chance to check it out.

I really adore the idea of the rest of the office quietly rallying around Toby and throwing secret birthday parties for him. That‘s such a lovely idea and I kind of wish it was canon, but at the same time I can’t see them actually being that considerate...
“I knew it might take more than one day.” Oh Jim. The spark of humor. The crushing realization that it’s not just falling into place.
That’s a bold move from Isabel... A very bold move.
I’m glad it kind of works out (at least for a moment). But I’m not sure how I’d feel about a friend/cousin interfering quite that much...
I can’t see it ending well for Jim if they get caught! But on the other hand, I feel like it would force the break up between Pam and Roy to actually happen. Although, I feel like Pam needs to end it on her own terms, otherwise she may blame Jim. I’m sure you’ll surprise me (& make it work) either way!
Author's Response: Thank you for your vote of confidence, lol. I hope I continue to surprise you. As for Toby, I just always feel so bad for him, and I try to rectify that sometimes in my fics. He deserves a party!!! Yeah, Pam won't be too happy with Isabel, that's for sure. I just posted chapter 8, and I'm holding my breath wondering what you'll think of it, lol. Thanks for the review.

I liked this. Good that Pam isn't just straight jumping ship but also that she acknowledges her attraction. I don't think they should get caught, but I also don't think Roy should get anything good from this encounter, even a sense of justification.
Author's Response: So glad you liked this chapter! Yeah, no one is innocent in this scenario, but I will try to make everyone get what they deserve :) Chapter 8 is up now. Hope you check it out.

Oof mr Halpert is in trouble! Serves him right for behaving like an asshole in the office :)
Great writing!
Author's Response: Thank you! And poor Mr. Halpert continues to pay for his crimes in the next chapter. Please check it out.
Date: August 16, 2020 05:14 pm Title: Room 620
Yikes! That's a hell of a cliffhanger to leave us on, friend.

Oh wow! So yeah this all ramped up. Jim being a bit heavy handed there at the reception desk. Dialing it back at Coopers, then showing up at the hotel. And if that wasn't enough of a roller coaster, Roy showing up and Jim's in the bathroom. Holy crap.
Next chapter should be really interesting. Sorry this review isn't as verbose as some of my other ones. There's just a lot to take in. Gret writing though. Please don't leave us hanging for to long.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! No matter what length your review, I always enjoy hearing your thoughts. And unfortunately for Jim and Pam, the roller coaster continues into the next chapter, which, coincidentally, I just posted. :)

Yeah, it's a red flag when his good behavior only lasts until he's forgiven, and then he goes right back to it.
Of course, it's a red flag when you are cheating on him too.
Oh Pam.
Author's Response: Wow! How cool are you to have binged my whole story like that, not to mention leaving me such lovely reviews. Thanks so much. I just posted ch. 7. Hope I have the pleasure of hearing from you again soon.

Well, that is a slightly different take on that conversation, but to a similar emotional place; though it's a nice use of irony that this makes him go to her instead of running away to Stamford.
