So my wife is a Physical Therapist. I asked her about the injuries here and she replied, and I quote, "That's neuro. I have tried hard to forget as much as I can about neuro." Just kind of a fun aside.
Anyway, it's really telling that after seeing Larissa, Jim comes to Pam. I love it. He knows she's there for him and he trusts her. Love it. Same with the discussions they get into. Pam knows how hard this is for him so she does her best to bring out the best in him. Seems to work too.
Jim resting his head on her shoulder seemed like a really nice callback to when she rested her head on his shoulder that day in the conferance room. Despite a trying day in the office and losing his best customer, it wasn't a bad day for Jim. Similar feeling here. Despite his sister in the hospital it's not as bad a day since he's there with Pam.
And there's the dun-dun-dun moment. Really looking forward to how it all goes down with Karen. Can't wait for more.
Author's Response: I will admit that all my medical knowledge comes from Grey’s Anatomy and quick google searches. Haha
I definitely had the Diversity Day scene in mind when I wrote this chapter. I feel like a lot of Jim and Pam’s experiences get mirrored from season 2 and season 3. So that was one way of showing that.
Thanks, warrior!

It’s nice to see that the channels
of communication are starting to open
between them.
I think the more it happens the
more Scranton Jim,
aka the real Jim will come out. I’m loving
that Pam is being more direct with her opinions instead of waiting until beach day.
Zero mention of Karen makes this chapter even better.
Author's Response: I’m also a big Pam of courageous Pam, so I’m letting her be forward a little sooner than we see in the show. Thanks for all your reviews!

You're welcome. It's always kinda fun to add in real life touches I think rather than just let everything reside in Genericville like on TV so they don't have to worry about copyright or trademark claims. Glad you could make use of that little tidbit.
Nice chapter here too. The inclusion of the lines from Beach Day added a lot. I really like that it's because Pam sees Jim come out with the Grape Soda that she has the courage to push a little. There's a sign her Jim the Real Jim is still there wanting to come through. So she does her best to help that along.
I really hope we get to see some quality Larissa messing with Jim type scenes. Those can get a ton of fun.
Author's Response: It’ll probably be a chapter or two away, but we will definitely see some Halpert family shenanigans! I want to keep the story from Pam’s POV so I’m working on a way to get them all together.

I’m already wondering if Jim heard Pam’s call with Isabel and heard what they said because he wasn’t as asleep as Pam thought.
Isabel’s comment about the art of the cold shoulder was dead in. Jim’s back and forth in S3 is one of the main reasons why he got on my nerves. Perhaps Pam helping him will get Jim to stop taking her for granted.
Please update soon.
Author's Response: Thank you!! I'm almost done with the next update! Hopefully not too long before I can post it.

I am an absolute sucker for this genre of fic and I am really looking forward to seeing you play this out.
Author's Response: Thank you! Hopefully I don't let you down. It's kind of new territory for me.

Since this is early S3 and we don't have a lot of the angst of the mid season to suffer through, this seems to work good. Jim and Pam still not sure how they stand with each other. Yes they're friendly, but the friendship is strained. Which of course leads to all the thoughts bounching around in Pam's head.
Always good to get some perspective from an outside source. Good job there Iz. Really looking forward to seeing where we go with this story.
Author's Response: Thanks, Warrior! I didn't want this to take place too close to The Job, because I feel like they both needed to still be in limbo a little bit for it to work the way I want it to.

Usually when one thinks of a hospital fic, it's either Jim or Pam who is the one in the hospital. So to have it be Larissa as the one who's hurt is a good way to change things up.
Seems like a plausible way to get them on the road together. Of course Jim would be the nice guy to let someone borrow his car. Likewise Pam is right there regardless of everything to offer hers. I like this choice since it shows that even in their off times, they're gret for each other since their thoughts run the same way.
Also as an aside, I used to live in Rochester. Don't know if you are aware of any of the local hospitals there but a good one is Strong Memorial if you're looking to add a touch of realism to the fic.
Author's Response: Oh, awesome! I'm definitely throwing that hospital in somewhere. :) Thank you for the review!

You write and emote really well-- I am looking forward to this!
(love the "battle of the Jims"- describes season 3 'wishy-washy' Jim just perfectly)
Author's Response: Thank you so much!!

I love a good hurt/comfort story! Excited to see where you take this! Your opening line was great - I love a new way of saying something fairly common place in fic.
Author's Response: Thank you! I felt pretty proud of that line, because like you said there are only so many ways to say she looked at the back of his head all the time. So I'm glad you liked it!

This is an interesting start.
Keep going with it.
