So there's a lot to love about this chapter. The description of the cabin is lovely. The kind of wooded hideaway that is rich in memory, love, and laughter. Wonderful to see Pam just fit right in with the Halpert clan.
Some things that stood out to me. Jim calling Vanessa "Bug." That's also my pet name for my daughter so that kind of melted my heart a bit.
Betsy insisiting on Jim and Pam sharing a room. A little surprising, but I'm sure space is also getting to be a premius as the family expands. Still it allows for some other Christmas cheer as you put it. Look at them sneaking around like their students. Very fun.
Pam's Christmas sweater! Just the kind of adorable cheesy thing that makes this Pam so wonderful.
The heart to heart Pam had with Gerald. Really cool that he would have that kind of discussion with her this early. However Jim and Pam are wearing their hearts on their sleeves with each other in the best of ways. In that sense I kind of get why Gerald would say all that to Pam. Nice touch.
Jim playing the piano by firelight was just all sorts of romantic.
All in all it was a lovely chapter filled with great holiday fun. Loved every bit of it.
Author's Response: I call my youngest Bug! :) Thank you so much for the review! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

You’re amazing, WW. I don’t know how you do it. I loved every word of this, especially Pam’s reaction to finding out that Jim plays piano, and their little confessional that they’re in this for the long haul. So freaking adorable.
Author's Response: 😭 You’re so nice! Thank you, lady! :)

Every Damn time. You’re killing me with this! Also I keep running out of jellybeans! Every chapter is so good! Thank you for being amazing!

OMG this is ridiculously cute. Arguably my favourite chapter so far. That sweater...!

Okay so this is just ridiculously fluffy and I don't care in the slightest. All the little details you put in are just great. Them stealing food from the other one, the playful banter, the connection they clearly share. It's just wonderful. Keep the updates coming.
Author's Response: Thank you!! I can’t help the fluff. :)

The National Air and Space Museum is just simply great. Well all of the Smithsonian is, but I also have a small hobby of aviation history so yeah there's that.
Oddly enough I kind of like the fact that Jim and Pam don't go out of their way to sit together at dinner for a few reasons. One, Pam is bonding more with her students. Based on her pre-school year jitters, that's a great way to show some growth. Two, it also means that Jim and Pam are in a good place. They can have some time apart and it's not a bad thing. Three it leads into a better reunion in Jim's room.
That's just all sorts of sweet. The cupcakes clearly to aswage the fact they both have a sweet tooth. Pam telling Jim he's the cute teacher. Jim seems to already know this but plays along. That may have also been some of the silliest and sweetest pre-sex talk I've read in a good long while. It's also just delightfully them.
I have this vision of a Secret Service sniper walking on the roof of the White House. He's just doing his job. Occasionally looking at the crowds through his binoculars. Then he sees Dwight start to act strangely. Now this guy has been there, done that, gotten the t-shirt, gotten bored with the t-shirt and still goes back. However this is new. So he sets down the binoculars and moves to the scope of his rifle. He doesn't take off safe yet, but he at least zeroes in on a potential target. As Dwight does his dance number he gets on the radio.
"Control from Roof, suspicious activity on Pennslyvania Avenue."
"Roof from Control, we see it. No threats detected."
"Copy Control, Roof resuming patrol."
Our intrepid sniper hero pulls away from his scope and resumes his scan of the area. Then he sees the couple down the block silently giggles at the first man he saw. "Well done," he thinks to himself.
So yeah, great prank.
Author's Response: I’m so glad you liked the hot-teacher-sweater-talk, because that probably one of my favorite parts of this whole thing. 😂 Thank you!

This story continues to be just a ton of fun. The grown up prankster that is Jim seems on display there on the bus. He still wants to bend the rules and get what he wants, but he's subtle enough to fly under the radar about it and it works out better.
Loved his bedtime story. As an English teacher he's be well versed with the quote, "brevity is the soul of wit." Puts it to good use too.
Nice that he and Pam can have their nightime stroll. Even better they can admit their real feelings to each other. Beautiful imagry.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!! Some of my favorite parts of writing this story has been his interactions with his students. :)

*swoons* I love how the girl students are talking to Pam about their crushes on Jim, and that Pam tells Jim about it. And the talk about the sweater was adorable and funny and sooooo clever. ;) Their prank on Dwight was a hoot. I could totally see something like that being on the show. Well done, lady. Guess I gotta get an update on my story out ASAP as possible now! ;)
Author's Response: Thank you!! Yes, please forget about your midterms and give the people what they want! ;)

Aw poor Dwight! I feel bad for laughing! But Jim and Pam, soooo ridiculously sweet!
Author's Response: Haha don’t feel bad, he probably deserved it. 😂

Once again I've woken up to another brilliant chapter of this story. A great way to start my day!
Author's Response: Aw, thank you so much! Part two of this chapter is coming very soon. :)

Author's Response: Haha really? I’ve never heard of anyone else doing it either!

Enjoying my trip back to high school/ visit to The Office in this fic. Never did go to DC in High School but have been a few times since and it makes a perfect trip for your story. (Will they swing by Georgetown?)
The subtle nods to character's personalities, Angela - spot on, good use of Toby's crush and lines from show - REM sleep mention, “How dare you?, Absolutely I Do - so fun to read. I caught the mention of Pam's insecurities about kids liking her too.
The way the kids get on with Mr. H is very believable and in character.
Okay - I want to know what book she was reading and I'm looking forward to the prank.
The icing was the I love You - fluffy Jam first moments always work for me. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Okay, so the book in my head was Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (which might be my favorite book of all time) but I wanted to keep it a little more vague in the story so people could mentally insert their own book. Haha but I would recommend that book if you haven’t read it! I also love making Jim the cool, likable teacher because I think that’s exactly how he would be if he were to teach. (And I would have 100% had a crush on him in high school, let’s be honest.) Thank you so much for your kind words and review! :)

Okay I loved this chapter TOO MUCH!!
Their moment on the bus (dammit, that would have been fun, but understandably wrong), in the Library of Congress, and THEIR MOMENTS NEAR THE WASHINGTON MONUMENT OMG MY HEART!!
I loved this chapter, SO good WW.
Author's Response: Fun story: when my husband and I visited D.C. I distinctly remember sitting on a bench at night by the Washington Monument. Now, it wasn’t nearly as romantic as this, but it was a mental picture I had and wanted to use!
Thank you so much for all your kind reviews and encouragement! It means so much!!

Author's Response: You’re so nice!! Thank you. :)

Ahhhhh! Okay, the whole “banging the principal” bit was hilarious. I legit laughed out loud. I loved the bus ride and the stolen kisses and everything, and their nighttime walk was adorable. And then to end it all with “not a bad day” was sheer perfection. Loved it.
Author's Response: Thank you, as always! :) I had Michael and Jan storyline in my head since the very beginning and this was the perfect time to reveal it. Ha

I really loved this chapter... as I loved the previous chapters. Sorry I didn't get to review earlier.
Also... I love DC
Author's Response: Don’t apologize for not reviewing! I’m just glad you’re enjoying it! :) Thank you!

Loving this AU. We have all the characters in play (including Mose) with very appropriate jobs for each. I enjoy these stories that have Pam being a touch shy but knowing and verbalizing what she wants. Roy being a short time thing that she just sweeps under the rug but Jim is still jealous could make for some interesting byplay later.
As has been said eagerly waiting next update. Thank you.
Author's Response: Thank you SO much! It’s been a joy to write so I’m thrilled people are liking it. :)

Every time I see an update my heart skips a beat. I love this so fucking much. A million jelly beans.
Author's Response: You’re the best. Haha thank you so much!!

As always this story continues to be a treat. Jim and Pam have something special going on here and it's lovely to read. Very cute moments with Jim showing up at her condo to kiss her breathless and then give her the blanket. Likewise when watching the game.
Kind of interesting to see some jealously come out of Jim there under the bleachers. Though the reasoning you give based on his proximity to typical jocks also makes sense.
Love that Pam is there to reassure him that there's nothing to worry about. They get to spend the rest of the night focusing just on them and everything that entails. I liked the less is more approach to those scenes here.
Wonderful job as always.
Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior! As I write Pam in this story, she seems to be coming across a little more sure of herself and confident than she is initially in the show, and so can’t say I’m mad about it. The way she assures Jim and is seemingly unaffected by Roy is evidence of that.

I can't wait for them to be able to be a couple in public!
Author's Response: Still figuring out when to do that, but it will happen sometime! 😂

Enjoying this fic and the layers this chapter adds.
I'm so happy to see Darryl is a fellow English teacher - through my rewatches I pick up little things that speak to his being a cerebral type. For instance in a season 4 ep Michael finds him (while saying he was busy mind you) working on a rubix cube that he has almost solved. Lots of little clues to his higher intelligence in early seasons.
Toby's eyes - yup so sad.
I like the way you handled the intimacy too.
Look forward to what happens next.
Author's Response: Thank you!! Initially I chose Darryl just because I wanted Jim to have a friend in his department, and they were friends in the show. But then I thought about that episode where his resolution is to read more, as well as the things you mentioned, and it started fitting even better. Haha

Girl, I don’t know how you do it. Seriously so good. The fact that Pam doesn’t know football that well tells you so much about her relationship with Roy. That felt so believable, and a little sad. Glad she has Jim to provide her with explanations and fleece blankets. *sighs* Oh, to be Pam Beesly.
Author's Response: Thank you!! :) I think we’re all a little envious of Pam. Haha

KEVIN!!! "We're all going to get to know each other in the pot"
So glad he finally got to share his Chili.
Another fun chapter. I like how you worked in 'swaying isn't dancing' and their worktime first date. Great stuff.
Keep it coming lots of fun
