This is absolutely lovely, very in-character and super-fluffy in all the best ways. You managed to get some high-quality JAM in there at the end too.
Cards on the table: I love that Pam would call Trump the "Giant Orange Cheeto" (occasionally used in my own household) and I love how supportive Jim is to both his kids. Kamala Harris is clearly a great role model to all young girls across the political spectrum for her achievements. You manage to convey this without being preachy.
This is an all-round triumph from my perspective!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the review. I didn’t want to be preachy, only just show how important this is for so many girls especially girls of color today. It was an amazing day in our house and I felt like the Halperts needed a little of that excitement in their lives too. Cece is so fun to write, and I love writing little family moments. They warm my heart on icy days like today.

We love a Kamala stan! I watched this live with my stepdaughter and it was such a powerful moment, so it was fun to see characters I love discussing current events and educating the next generation, because that’s so important. And I love the Kamala/Kelly comparison, but let’s give Kelly her due! That girl is smart AF! She is the business bitch, after all, lol! It’s my head canon that she went on to really write all those books and become a self-made woman while dragging Ryan along the entire time.
Anyway, this was cute! It’s fun to see them in present day and having real life conversations with their kids. They’re great parents and I wish we’d been able to see more of that on the show! And I loved the little Kamala call back at the end. Thank god Jim is nothing like Pence, huh? 😉
Author's Response: Awww thank you so much BT! I’ve had this idea in my head since the news broke, and I needed to share it, and I definitely wanted to bring it to life with Jim and Pam and Cece. I agree! I wish we saw more of them being parents on the show, but I definitely needed more of this cuteness now! I loved bringing it back around at the end to JAM, and thank GOD Jim isn’t like Pence lol but hey Pam’s gotta jab him every once in a while ;). Thank you for the read and the lovely review!!

I do love this! Kamala Harris has talked a lot about inspiring girls to realize what they can accomplish. But this story beautifully illustrates an example of how that can happen, one girl at a time. I am so excited to be entering the realm of "well, OF COURSE we have women representing us at ALL levels of government. Why wouldn't we?" Thank you JHalpert!
Author's Response: Clover thank you so much! I am so happy that you were able to connect with this story, and that we are moving to such wonderful times where women are holding positions of power and I am so happy and excited to write this for Cece.

Great Dad Jim story here. I really love all the antics Cece and Phil are getting into as well as how Jim treats them. He's honest and caring and setting a great example for his kids. Jim is right, kids can and do understaned a lot more than they're often given credit for. Good for him for relizing that and using it to encourage both of them while at the same time having fun.
Author's Response: You know how much I love that Dad Jim character. He gives me all the feels, and I think that this story really needed to be told. I think there was a quick opportunity here for him to talk about how important this is with his daughter, and I want to give them some fun and sweet time together about something so important.

I really love this, and not just because this is kind of my field. This conversation is just such a reality for a parent of a young girl in 2020, and I really enjoy seeing a very Jim-specific take on it, informed by the details of his and Pam's life together. It's lovely to see what this means to Cece - and very funny to see how Jim puts her new goals to immediate use as a parent.
(Also, I will note something: I spent a lot of time in the last few weeks thinking about who everyone would have voted for in 2008 and had not really considered who they would've voted for in 2020. So thanks for that inspiration. :) )
Author's Response: Oh thank you so much! I really like relevant current stories with our favorite family from today’s perspective. I know how much this election results have impacted so many young girls and with Cece being 11 and at such an important age and very specific for when they are trying to decide what they want to do when they get older. I feel like the Halperts would definitely direct their kids to dream big, so I loved writing this and as always, I loved hearing your review!
