Roy, using his vacation time for a funeral instead of on a trip with Pam to Boston? Very typical of him. That’s alright though, I’d rather read a fic of Jam in Boston anyway ;)

I cannot tell you how much I relate to this sentence. A hopeless sap is exactly what I am right now - I mean, head over heels, and it’s captured so perfectly in this story. I love the office, specifically the first few seasons, because it’s so real. Jim’s story is so real. And I love how you’ve portrayed his love for Pam and her oblivion to what he feels for her. I can only hope they end up together soon - my stone heart is not a fan of angst.

I love the way he’s just such a salve for Pam here – and in the way that she needs, rather than the way he wants to be or indulging his curiosity about their fight. And it works, because we end up with a Drunk!Pam sighting! Drunk Pam is way up there on the list of best Pams.

This was well-designed – the exact comments Pam makes at the bar make a lot more sense once we know what the fight with Roy was about. And ugh. Roy. Roy is just the worst. Seriously. He sucks. He sucks and he does not deserve that gravel business.

There are some big things happening right now (HE FOUND THE PAINTING AND SHE ASKED HIM TO STAY), but I like how you also keep bringing it back to how all the little things between them get to him – the single heart emoji, grabbing his wrist.

P.S. Jim should’ve stuck with the ransom plan. He doesn’t even need Roy to make the trade, just let Pam see a second of hesitation.

The chapter title already had me dying before I had read a single word of the actual chapter. Before I get to the obvious perfection that is drunk Pam, I want to say that I loved that Jim not only uses pranks against Dwight to fight off boredom, but also as a distraction against Pam.

Okay but onto the thing we really care about. Drunk Pam. I'm glad that Jim had the courage to ask her to drinks and that she said yes. And then how it started off as just hanging out quickly turned into Jim supervising Pam after her second fight with Roy. Her enthusiastic "Nope!"s and her "ew" to Roy's shirt have me cracking up.
And then they get back to her apartment and she's making TWSS jokes. I adore that so, so, *so* much. "Don't tell me what to do, Halpert." Is MTT available in heaven? Because I'm literally going to die.
and *then* he wanted to kiss her. and *THEN* he found the painting. *AND THEN* SHE ASKED HIM TO STAY. AND YOU LEFT US THERE. I need the next chapter like last week, please.

P.S. I freaking hate Roy. Have I said that? I feel like I haven't said it enough. How dare he kiss a random girl and then not even tell her about it until she made him after overhearing Kenny? I feel so bad for her, and for Jim who has to hear stuff like that and not be able to do anything about it. Ugh. Don't mind me, I'll just be over here crying over Jim's lovesick heart.

P.P.S. If the next chapter doesnt open with him at her place in the morning I'm suing.

I am fascinated by the idea of what sort of relationship Jim and Pam have outside of work pre-Casino Night (particularly since Niagara puts a firm finger on the scale for “they at least have some”), so I’m really excited to see you explore that, and especially in a Roy-free context! I am very much hooked by this start.

Jim’s obviously very much a creature of routine, and I like the idea that the only thing that breaks him out of that routine is Pam. “It was like a more pathetic and hopeless game of Six Degrees” is a clever line.

I love how you’ve mixed the easy banter with them negotiating this unusual moment for these two people who love/like each other but aren’t used to each other in this context. This runner with Pam being an old lady feels very much in their voices.

You just have Season 2 Jim’s thought process down here, in all his eagerness to soak up the details of outside-of-work Pam. And I love the signs we get from outside Jim’s POV that Pam is just as excited and confused – her waiting for him at the register and making a point of texting him and the carefully chosen words, like she’s trying to push her boundaries a little.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Okay just go ahead and kill all of us now. First the extra muffin, d'awwwww. Then let's just skip ahead. Jim kneeling with a diamond ring to give to Pam while being soaking wet? Hell of a way to reuse one of the best scene's from cannon and yet add that subtle twist of angst. But seriously, you're going to kill us all if you keep that up. Doubly so with all of Pam's peaking at Jim and hugging and holding and confused feelings. Don't get me wrong, the evening with jokes and Chinese food was wonderful. Pam really letting herself be happy will hopefully spark something out of that land of denial she's been in.

She paints and it comes out Jim. She needs help and turns to Jim. She feels happy in who knows how long and it's because of Jim. Oh the S2 feelings are so strong here.

Going to go ahead and need this updated yesterday, please and thank you. Great job.

"It was like a more pathetic and hopeless game of Six Degrees." Ugh I loved this line. I can picture Jim's life being EXACTLY like this.

The entire exchange about old man ice cream and Pam popping out her dentures made me laugh out loud. That was so cute! Banter written perfectly, I loved it.

"He felt a sudden rush of longing—an ache so tangible that he could almost pluck it out of thin air and keep it stashed in his back pocket, only to be pulled out again when she did something simple, like exist near him." Freaking poetry. Love this SO much.

LADY. I gasped aloud at his "your place or mine" text only for you to RIP THAT AWAY FROM ME! But realistically I think you wrote it exactly how he would have handled it.

Already can't wait for more of this! Such a good set up and everything is so in character. I know you're like, busy with life and and unpacking and everything but if you could just drop all of that to write this story, that'd be great.

WW. Wow. Okay, words, right.

Jim finding different things while shopping that reminds him of Pam is amazing. And then their interactions in the freezer section were SO spot on. I could literally hear them saying everything you wrote.

"He probably doesn’t spend nights lying awake, marveling at how the moonlight casts perfect shadows against her delicate features, and he’s pretty damn sure Roy has no idea how lucky he is to be the one laying next to her every night." Okay this killed me. It's fine, I'm fine. (I'm not fine.)

Also, Roy is SUCH an idiot. Leaving for two weeks, using up vacation days, ugh. Stupid.

I love how he wanted to call her but knew that may be pushing it, but still got so excited when she texted him. I love the picture she sent and how he saved it, even though he knows he shouldn't.

I so wish he had sent that bolder text, but I know he wouldn't have really. Texting about Michael is much safer and more Jim, even if we all want him to be more forward.

I literally cannot wait for the next chapter. It's being posted tomorrow, right?
