That is a lovely image and metaphor there, as well as a very original one. A perfect button to put on the end of this journey!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you share this journey with me :)

A beautiful ending to a wondrous journey! This is quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud, Dernhelm.
Author's Response: Thank you, Bored! I'm used to criticizing my own works, but I really like how this one turned out :)

Beautiful. Loved that she saw his love for her come through just as much now, when reading the note as he did way back when, when he wrote it. Jim giving her that card is one of my favorite scenes in the show and you did it justice here.
Again, you did such a great job getting into ever aspect of their relationship through this whole story. It was great to come on this journey with you. Bravo.

Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior, I'm glad you liked the final chapter! And I'm grateful to you for sticking with this story from the beginning and till the very end. And for all your lovely reviews!

This was the perfect ending!
Author's Response: Thank you <333

I loved this so much! Especially the last line, and 'his hands and kisses made a good try'.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm sure that something like that might have happened behind the closed doors ;)

Aw, this was very sweet - I really like the use of ticking clock, and Pam with her brave smile and heavy heart :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think that there's something brave about long-distance relationships, and, of course, Pam and Jim were strong enough to endure that.

This is so heart-breaking! But so good.
Author's Response: Sorry for heartbreak, but thank you!

I loved this look into a newly independent Pam - you capture her fear really well, and the small win at the end is a really nice moment.
Author's Response: Thank you! Independence has its price, but of course, it's worth it :)

Again, feels VERY realistic to a part of their marriage that could easily have happened with Pam's insecurity at this time in their life, and feels very realistic to how Jim would've reacted to it.
Author's Response: Thank you! I know how important it is to me to keep things realistic, so it's high praise coming from you :)

You did a really good job of capturing in relatively short order what this separation would have been like for Pam, in her unfamiliar world, living with Jim at an arm's length.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad I succeeded here :)

Ugh. You are a POET.
Author's Response: Awww! I still can't rhyme, but THANK YOU!

I think this head-canon makes a lot of sense, and while I don't love Pam being scared like this, it feels realistic to her situation at this time in her life.
Author's Response: Thank you! I don't like to see Pam in distress either, but as you said, it was realistic for her to feel that way back then...

This was really sweet. Despite of constant reminders of love and commitment, one can still need little affirmations in moment like these:)
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm sure they had a lot of moments like this, it was just cameras that didn't catch them all :)

Awww Jim look at you go. Being the warm supportive husband you are. Sometimes words fail or aren't enough. So it's time to take action. Loved that he shows her through his deeds that she'll always be beautiful. The fact she's earned her motherhood badges of honor probably makes her even more beautiful to him. Loved it.
Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior! I like it so much about their relationship that they don't belittle insecurities each other but support and help to go through them.

From longing glances to cherishing every moment together. Great way to see how her perspective changes. Really liked this one.
Author's Response: Thank you! I guess that dating (but at a distance) is much better than sharing the same space without the possibility of being together :)

Just got all caught up on these and I have to say I love them all. If I had a pick a favorite I don’t know if I could! You have such a beautiful way of writing and I am so impressed with how you convey so much emotion and tell a story in just 55 words. Fantastic job, my friend!
Author's Response: Aww, thank you so much, BT! I'm happy you enjoyed these stories, and I'm happy I started this thing in the first place (though I think I probably threw a pack of spoilers for half of my future stories here, haha).

This is a nice one. I wonder how many times Pam felt the regret and bit of resentment towards her fate, why she didn’t meet this amazing guy earlier in life.

This is a nice one. I wonder how many times Pam felt the regret and bit of resentment towards her fate, why she didn’t meet this amazing guy earlier in life.
Author's Response: Thank you! I guess she had her regrets about the wrong timing, especially on the contrast with her life with Roy...

This is one of my favorite one in the series. How you captured the initial fear and anxieties of someone living by themselves who almost all their lives were under a safety blanket. It’s a new adventure that comes with its own share of risks.
Well done :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I should confess, though... I left my home city at 17 and went to the much bigger city (there I had just a few acquaintances), so here I just wrote a little about my own daily share of fears :)

You can tell just how much she's hoping for something, anything from him here. Which really drives home that beautiful smile of hers when he finally accepts her gift. For those brief moments, they're Jim and Pam again. That even if it doesn't last long, they're the best friends they used to be. Nice job being able to bring that out.
Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior! I think that at that point, she wanted him to reach out to her even without romantic intention, and I'm glad I was able to show that.

This fits. She's just gone through the wringer. Jim's confession, her rejecting him, Jim leaving, her breaking up with Roy, and now moving out on her own. Probbaly the first time she's lived on her own in years. After everything she's gone through I think it makes total sense her nerves would be a bit fried. She's still working on building her courage and this is a great look into that.
Author's Response: Thank you, it's important to me to keep things as realistic as possible. Besides, I think that in that her state, she needed some victories in her life (like art school), so even fighting daily fears might have been considered one.

Another one that really spoke to me - I'm late reading but I hope you are feeling better.
Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing, I appreciate it very much! I think I recovered fully from my sickness, thank you!

ooh -this one.
I'm all about the symbolism of the gold.
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

This is a really great characterisation of Pam's relationship with Roy, especially the many small things dripping away rather than any big thing.
Author's Response: Thank you! Perhaps, it was for the best this way, more peaceful... though it was much harder to explain where love had gone...
