Sweet with the sunset, but a bit meloncholy too. I'm putting that down to the fact she's apart from Jim right now. However we'll soon see her looking stunning in the light of the sunset waiting in the parking lot for Jim. Nice job.
Author's Response: Thank you! I guess, in this case, everything was mixed — Jim's absence, the fact that Pam had to do things she didn't quite like instead of things she enjoyed... something like that.

Yeah that's early seasons right there. However I love the idea they held onto good reminders like this. In a year or so they can let those embers add the warmth of their relationship. Nicely done.
Author's Response: Thank you! I guess they needed that as the office life (especially in the earlier seasons) looked pretty bland... and the way those embers eventually turned into the flame was an awesome bonus for them.

Ooooh. The poetry is nice, and I really like the idea of both them, secretly from each other, storing away a little memory of this day... especially given how Pam's ember ends up lighting the flame later on...

Author's Response: Thank you! I like the idea of them gathering mementos so very much that I couldn't resist the temptation to include that moment :)

Oof, poor Pam. This captures the art show so well, it's so heart-breaking. And the 'little by little' really made me think of the way she gets more and more dejected as the night goes on and no one shows. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you! That episode was painful to watch, but I'm glad that in the end, Pam got some recognition and a feeling of worthiness (plus the whole 'courage and honesty' thing, but that's a different tale).

Oooof. This feels real for Pam at this point, that she might feel in that moment like she was fading. Thank goodness for Michael.
Author's Response: Yeah, that was one of a few moments when I genuinely liked Michael.
Thank you!

I'll be honest, this is the first time I've gotten a little confused. Maybe I don't remember "Business School" right, but is the "he" here Jim or Micheal? Micheal would fit since he showed up and praised her work so much. Maybe that's just me.
Regardless, great look into how Pam might be feeling right now. Slowly fading into the background. Well done.

Awww, this one is really sweet. Love the image of them alone in the woods sharing a moment like this. Her holding onto something so precious and fleeting at the same time. Well done.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you like it :)

This is a lovely intimate little moment for them, and feels true to Paradox!Pam, young and exploring a whole new world.
Plus it's a good reminder to catch up with Paradox!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm enjoying writing about them (and I hope you'll like the new Paradox chapter!).

I am terrible at reviewing (for which I apologise), but just to say that I love, love all of these! I am in awe of your ability to say so much and conjure up such powerful images with so few words. I particularly love this one! I definitely feel like it's plausible. And just the right mix of angst/longing/lust/friendship that is very season 1-2 Jim.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad that you enjoy my vignettes :)

That's the lovesick Jim we know from early on. Trying and failing to avoid what he feels for her. A bit bittersweet here, but still well within character. Nice job.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad he isn't out of character here.

Ha, fire works on multiple different levels with this one. And yes, much as Jim's love for Pam is pure and motivated by who she is as a fully realized person, it is by no means chaste, and sometimes it's important to recognize that.
Author's Response: Thank you! I hope that this is that situation when unchaste thoughts are appropriate :)

Oh I liked this. One gets the feeling that until Pam burst into the circle Jim was ready and set to really try for Corporate. However here comes Pam at not exactly the last minute, but at the right minute to crash through everything. Bravo.
Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior! Jim+Corporate would be a disastrous combination, and I'm so happy he (with Pam's help) avoided it.

I love this idea of Pam breaking down Jim's walls... and the last sentence sort of explaining the hesitance in then moving forward even after Beach Games.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you like it!

Ooooof. Good metaphor. Bad day for Pam.
BUT - the flowers fell to the ground, but the plant survived and remained strong until Jim was ready to pluck her.
Author's Response: Thank you! By the time I watched that episode I'd already known that Jam meant to be an endgame, but still, I cried. Her pain felt almost personal...

Ouch, yeah that one stings. She's ready, she's excited, and it all goes upside down on her. Patience Pam, in time you'll both get the timing right.
Author's Response: Thank you! I feel bad for Pam in that episode so much that I've never watched it for the second time (but still, I couldn't avoid writing about it).

The scars of their past will always be there. There's no getting around them. However it's also glad to see Jim's enjoying his time with Pam now.
Author's Response: Sadly, but that's true, all that hurt couldn't vanish without a trace. But there will be so many bright days for them ahead, and these scars couldn't cross them.
Thank you!

Hmmmmm. Interesting. I like the idea of the shadow of Karen looming over his time with Pam in New York... that really *should* hang over him more than we see it in canon.
Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I believe that Jim is a generally good person, so he just couldn't not feel at least uncomfortable about the way he broke up with Karen. So, particular places (like that fountain) must trigger unpleasant memories... or, at least, I believe in this theory :)

Yay, you! The writing keeps getting better. Hope you are as well
Author's Response: Practice makes perfect, I guess :) Thank you!

The fire vs the sun feels like a solid metaphor for Katy v Pam. She can keep him warm at night but it's still not daytime. He wants the real thing, not some imitation.
Whooo a month down!
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm glad you like this metaphor too!

Oh Jim, even back then you knew that no one would be able to hold a candle to Pam. Nice way to get into his head.
Author's Response: Thank you! I feel so much for him back then...

This is just *adorably* domestic.
Author's Response: Thank you!

Very sweet. Love the idea of them sharing really cute time in the kitchen like this.
Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think that they had a lot of moments like this one, but they weren't meant for the camera :)

I love the exploration of the myth and the images you've created here, plus this seems very true to Jim's vision of her in the early seasons.
How are you feeling?
Author's Response: I'm glad you like it!
And I feel almost fine, thank you! Still a little weak and have headaches more often than usual, but that's all.
Date: February 01, 2021 10:34 am Title: Earth IX
Now that's a metaphor! Seems very apt too. Just great. Especially for Jim seeing her leave everyday without him. The workday is spring but the nights are winter. Really liked that.
Author's Response: Thank you! Luckily for everyone, their story has a way better ending than the myth...
