Very nice. It all leads back to her. Run, hide, deny, look away, it comes back to her. Even better when she reaches out to him like here. You're still doing such a great job with all of these. Love them.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Warrior! I like so much hearing from you!

Really gets into what Jim was hoping for and why his heart shattered when it didn't. If only he could have waited just a bit longer.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm still frustrated with Jim being that impatient (though perfectly understand his feelings too...)

"Deeply inside he still believed in fairy tales" is a very good description of Season 2 Jim in his hopeful mode. And I like the Sleeping Beauty idea here, where his kiss DOES wake her up... it just takes a while to do it.
You know, I know that the original versions of those fairy tales are all not kid-friendly, but I had not heard that version of Sleeping Beauty. Ummm. Yikes.

Love this one as a counterpoint to last chapter. Even though I'm a guy and will never know that kind of experience, I did see that look on my wife's face a few months ago. The pain immediately turning to love and relief as our son took his first breaths. Really great job with this one.
Author's Response: Thank you! My brain mercifully blocked out most of my memories of that experience, but I'm glad I still have pleasant ones :)

My sympathies to you about your grandma. I don't feel this is out of character at all. It feels appropriate that after such an event they'd talk about it. the bet neither wanted to win feels all sorts of appropriate though.
Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior. It truly means a lot to me.

I'm very sorry for your loss, my friend. My uncle passed away last month, and I'm going through a similar period of reflection.
It does feel in character that this is something they would start to think about at that point, that it's not on their minds before the loss of a parent, and that it would be chilling to them to think of life without each other.
Author's Response: I'm so sorry for your loss too. And I'm grateful to you for your support immensely.

Ooooof. Roy as a swamp sucking her in to an environment not conducive for growth or laying a solid foundation is a pointedly good metaphor.
Author's Response: Thank you! I think that's my favorite piece so far :)

Very prosaiac to be sure. A really good interpretation of her mindset I think.

The "She needed to make everything he’d ever owned hers/On his lips she tasted the same greed" combo is a really good description of what the desire they have for each other must feel like.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I was nervous a bit about publishing this part ('isn't it OOC?' 'isn't it too much?'), but I'm glad it suits well to the characters.

That's a delightful way of writing a short but intimate scene. Great job.
Author's Response: Thank you, Warrior! I'm still insecure about writing things like that, so I'm glad it worked out well.

This sounds like a really good project! And I love the way you've started off here - you've created a really vivid image that's totally on point with where Pam is at this moment. Very poetic.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked this piece. I have no idea what I'll write next, but I'm excited to find out :)
