The therapist in me wants to run right the hell in to this office and stop all of this from happening! From Holly's interview to Toby's ineffectiveness....OH MY GOODNESS, I can see more trauma being inflicted... ugh!

Ohhhhhhh…. This is very interesting…. The flashbacks are intense, as they should be, and of course aryan would be a total insensitive ass.

Ok so this chapter was just so so great that I actually can't start pulling out lines because I would just be writing the entire chapter in the review and that seems a bit silly.
I will just say I LOVED how you wrote Michael's interview, it was down to a tee and just so perfect
It pains me that this isn't finished, because it's so great! I really, REALLY hope you can sneak it into your queue and finish it. I won't be able to give you anymore jellybeans, but I'll make you any gif you want

Cute callback to Jim playing with his wedding ring, liked that a lot
The Dwangela moment was very sweet, the little smile at the end being just perfect.
Pama Colada made me laugh a lot
And OH NO. Michael CANNOT do this interview

Jim being nervous about going back to work and projecting onto Dwight was all sorts of heartbreaking.
Omg, Mose taking the scarecrow to bed was HILARIOUS
'Will it help if I hold your hand?' Oh heart eyes emoji right here
And back to the heartbreaking with all of the subtext from Jim while they're parking the car
Two peas in a pickle - insert my Pam giggling gif
And Jim haters? Who are these Jim haters you speak of??

Everything about this Dwim chapter was just so awesomely written, I loved it
'...and it is now lunchtime...the following day' This line really tickled me, and I could totally see Jim saying this
"Thank you not necessary and thus, not accepted." I loved the use of this here, really well done
OH MY GOD, what is this you have done with Gabe???
Date: September 29, 2022 02:18 pm Title: Stories
Pam, Holly and Dwight are all written so well here, it really feels like it could have been canon.
The get well card is hilarious. Nice work
Oh Dwight still blaming himself, and the panic he got himself in. Oh bless him
Little Peepee!!!! That made me laugh so much
Date: September 25, 2022 03:01 pm Title: Nightmares
Ok so Dwight and the Knights of the Night, hilarious.
WE ARE UNARMED. We only have flashlights. This is too funny.
Oh bless Dwight for worrying about Jim because he hasn't heard from Pam.
Date: September 24, 2022 03:29 pm Title: Flashbacks
Oh god, all the Dwight angst at the start.
‘“Oh…well, he's managed to make it five hours without insulting me so that's a new record. Way to go, Jim!" he said with a sarcastic tone in his voice as he looked at his face. He then frowned as he received no response from the sleeping patient.’ This was epically canon sounding
Oh jeez, Pam standing at the sink with the flashbacks. Heartbreaking. Just so heartbreaking.
Absolutely loved Jim waking up and just lightly bothering Pam awake. Seemed so perfectly Jim
So glad Jim is ok. But god, what is Gabe gonna do on the loose?!
Date: September 03, 2022 06:12 am Title: Shock
Oh no, Pam and Dwight, don’t blame yourselves!!
I read Pam’s dream and was like no no no this can’t happen. AND THANK GOD IT WAS A DREAM!!
Oh Dwight, I just wanna hug him at the end there

Oh my god. Just when I thought I couldn’t dislike Gabe anymore, he’s goes and freaking shoots Jim?! He’s the worst. I can’t wait to see his comeuppance.
Dwight taking care of Jim is all sorts of heart eyes. I guess, apart from you know, the shooting and all.

I thought you struck a good balance with Michael here - well-intentioned, mostly useless if not counterproductive, but he does manage to genuinely help almost in spite of himself.

Normally I'm more on the spot with getting to a review. Sorry about that, life gets in the way at times.
Anyway. Good Michael voice here. The kind of silly crazy man-child he can be with Jim, but then the serious Michael comes out with Dwight, to a degree. I think you did a good job with that.
Although not intended it was good to see Pam starting to open up to Jim. Feels like a pretty good step in the right direction for them. They're both still covering up a lot, but that feels like progress. The party at the bar should be kind of interesting to witness that's for sure.
Author's Response:
Thank you! And no worries, I really appreciate all the reviews you've been giving because it gives me a lot to think about. And especially since I don't have a lot of writing experience.
I wasn't initially going to have the Dwight and Michael scene but I figured that I should make him like a father figure for the two of them and had differing styles on how to manage them.
Pam's accidental revelation was initially supposed to be in a later chapter and intentional but it felt right to finally end that part about Pam hiding stuff from him.
The party. I have plans for it and oh boy, we'll see.

Very much the feeling of everyone being on edge. Jim and Dwight analyzing and over-analyzing every little detail. Pam trying to be supportive. Micheal being extra harsh on Toby. There's just tons of tension around the office right here. I do kind of wonder what it will take to have it all break. Nice job in setting the scene in that regard.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Pam and Jim’s conference room messing around felt very them, as did Dwight being more bothered by his co-workers' opinions than he realized he would be.
I have a very bad feeling about Michael doing the interview with Jim. That feels like a recipe for disaster.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much!
I really try to add small doses of Jim and Pam in every chapter because they are a married couple going through a bit of a challenge. But the love is still there.
With Dwight, he's a bit of a caricature but I also try to make him a lot more human so it won't be just a monotonous interaction with Jim and Pam.
I won't spoil the next chapter (which is already up btw!) but Michael Scott is really quite the character.

Dwight felt very Dwightish here, especially in the opener. And the conversation with Jim and Pam talking in code felt a lot like how they'd communicate. Actually, everyone felt very in-character: Michael stumblebum, Ryan being contrary and kind of an asshole and resentful of Jim.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much!
I got a lot of inspiration from Dwight from the actual show, particularly with the loud music playing.
I love adding Jim and Pam in small doses since at the end of it, it really is a JAM fic. I know it deviates from the norm but I hope people still enjoy it.
I really try as much as possible to make sure everyone stays pretty much in character so I hope I did it justice.

Oh Dwight, there you go thinking you're a born and bred Gryffindor but you're badmouthing Hufflepuff. I mean seriously Dwight? Have you even read those books and taken the time to try and understand any of their meanings? Dumbledore himself, one of the greatest Griffindors called for unity through all the houses, no division like this. Still I think it's a good look into his character.
Michael being over the top like that fits him well. Same for Ryan's attitude. Really glad Andy and Kevin had his back there and put him in his place.
Now Jim. Oh boy Jim. You're not okay. You know you're not okay. Pretending to be okay is probably only going to come back to bite you later. Hopefully he'll realize that soon. Nice update.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much!
Dwight really had this lack of self-awareness in the show so I really wanted to play into that with the Harry Potter banter.
I like adding Michael in scenes because he's such a fun character to write. With Ryan, as much as I hate him, writing up a douche is also fun so I might utilize him a lot.
I exaggerated Jim's stubbornness and refusal to give himself a good look in the mirror. It will backfire on him down the road but the question is... when?

I thought the note about Jim's brothers was a good addition here - I think a lot of his behavior with Dwight seems a lot less cruel if you put it in this context.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much!
Yes, I remember John's interview in Brian Baumgartner's podcast about how there's a brotherly aspect between Jim and Dwight so that's really my inspiration for this story, outside of Jim and Pam.

The Jim and Dwight stuff was a lot of fun. Jim just can't seem to help himself can he. The consumate class clown/prankster. However it also feels like his humor is his defense against some pretty intense feelings and memories. Not just getting shot but from his childhood as well. Kinda makes sense that he's not ready to open up about that and especially not with Dwight.
Nice Dwight voice too. His logical mentality when he woke up and also the fact that his gullibility is hightened when drunk nice job.
Good to see Pam starting to talk to someone. However Helene's right. She needs to at least tell Jim she's seeing a counselor. I get that she wouldn't want to push him, but at least if feels like she should let him know what's going on with her.
And then there's Gabe still on the prowl. I honestly have no idea what might be going through his head. When he shot Jim he was drunk if I remember right. Don't know if he still is or not now. Likewise don't know if he has a weapon anymore since he used Dwight's gun to shoot Jim. Still being a creeper and he's still wanted for attempted murder. Still lots of questions about everything as we go forward.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much!
The Jim and Dwight tandem was definitely fun writing about and I have some in store. It's only a matter of when.
With Jim, I still take inspiration from his actual character, since I really think he uses irony as a defense mechanism.
With Pam and Jim, they obviously love each other but they're obviously tiptoeing around each other so we'll see how long this lasts between them.
With Gabe, I can confirm that he has no weapon since he left the gun. But we'll see how he moves forward from there.
