Another good one! I really like the changes it’s fun to read different ways a scene can turn out.

Oh this was perfect and heart wrenching. For an instant I could smell the rain too.

This would have been a very interesting and obviously internet-breaking different Casino Night. Thanks for sharing.

Listen, I have a soft spot for pining Jim and ooh, WW, this is just really, really good.
“But the thing he would miss the most, was also the thing that was pushing him 150 miles away from everything he knew, and that seemed to be the hardest truth to grapple with.” Why hello, insightful Jim.
“He wanted to press pause on it all and soak up the glimmer in her eyes and the way her hair caught the light and how she managed to make him feel like it was just the two of them in a crowded room. “ I love this so much.
The whole dress thing? Adorable.
This was so good and I love the twist at the end!

This was incredible! I love this song, and it's so perfect for Jam - you made such good use of it. I really like the idea of them leaving Casino Night early and just hanging out - I LOVED the dress zipper scene, and the ending to this with the rain and Pam saying 'Stay' was just perfection.

Hey! And now you get to use the Wet Jim/Pam tag!

I liked this moment of him being blown away by his first sight of Pam on Casino Night, because you just know he was. And the line about him wanting to soak in the experience and bottle it up also feels like something that was very much on canon Jim's mind.
I also liked the parallel tracks of their histories... Jim following the path he's supposed to, waiting to find a direction; Pam headed in a very particular direction; both of them colliding and setting each other's lives on a different course.
But, oh, man. I just really loved this final sequence. Them on the porch in the rain, his confession, the kiss by the cab, her coming back and asking him to stay... it's all very cinematic, and I can see it and feel it all so clearly. Very romantic!

That was a heckuva AU. To leave with her for ice cream and a movie rather than confess right there is something I haven't seen a lot of. It fits though. He's trying to spend as much time with her as possible, even if it's killing him in the process.
Pam's thoughts are really great too. She notices he remembers little things about her. Like how she likes her ice cream. That she's already put up a block of not comparing Jim to Roy means that she has in the past and she knows where those thoughts would lead her.
The zipping the dress back up? All sorts of tension between them. Only for it to come to a head in him telling her of the transfer and the tropiest of romatic tropes of kissing in the rain. Loved that. Then she's right there and askin ghim to stat with her. Great way to end this. Wonderful job.

I hope you don't take offense when I say that I think this is my favorite thing you have written so far. I love me some English Jim and BaBT was mere perfection, but you wrote this fic so beautifully, I'm not even going to be able to accurately describe how amazing it truly is. My heart hurt so much throughout all of this. Jim knowing he has to leave Scranton because of Pam but also *doesn't* want to leave Scranton because of Pam. I absolutely adore you writing a more in depth look at how transferring effected Jim, since we see a lot of how it effects Pam in fic. Yes, he's losing the love of his life and his prank buddy and all of that but he's also just losing his best friend.
Then the dress zipping up. WW. When I tell you I could feel Pam's panic but was also SO excited for Jim to zip it up. omg, girl. You wrote them both so perfectly too. How embarrassed Pam would be but knowing there's no way around it and how awkward and nervous Jim would be. My babies.
And then the rain. If it's raining in a fic, I'm more than likely going to love it. Pam's grandma's sayings to her were so cute and I love that Pam held onto those for her whole life. "What it's like to be affected by you" okay cool. cool, cool, cool. My funeral is tonight, hope you can make it.
The part that just ripped my heart to shreds though was when she leaned on his shoulder after he called a cab and said that she is going to miss him too. I was in the middle of the grocery store truly just trying not to cry. And then she didn't let go of his hand as they walked to the cab.
AND THEN. WW. The reuse of the "I just had to do that... once." after he kisses her. And then JUST WALKS AWAY. DOESNT LOOK BACK. Goes to sob in his kitchen and then turns around and shes there and she's telling him to stay and to stay with her and I'm trying not to cry just thinking about it.
This is *beautiful*, WW. I seriously don't have the words to tell you how much I love this. Just think of how much Jim loves Pam in this fic, and that is how much I love this fic and how much I love you for writing this fic.

I'm honestly a little bit speechless right now, which is really saying something, because we both know you couldn't get me to shut up if you paid me. Actually, maybe you can just pay me with more stories like these, because that apparently seems to work.
How the flying fuck word are you this talented?!?! Not only did you get me to read an angsty story, you got me to LIKE it. You got me to like being in Jim's mind while he looks at Pam from afar, bargaining with himself as he imagines staying in Scranton. You got me to like this version where Jim keeps quiet for longer, holding his feelings in verbally but never able to mask them completely. You got me to like this awkward, heavy tension we have between our favorite couple that isn't, and I hate saying that here, because now everyone will know that I liked it. But it was too amazing for me not to comment on it.
And I *love* the sort of ambiguous, hopeful ending we get here. It really fits the theme of the season 2 finale in the best possible way.

WW. Where did this come from?!
I love this! This was amazing, and I love how Jim dragged the night out, then finally tells her, only to have him kiss her in the rain! Rain kisses, my favorite!
Now, maybe he’ll get to *unzip* her dress!
