This was so adorable! I've not come across that many fics that have both Jim's parents and Cece and Phil in, and I loved this (especially the way you've written the relationship between Phil and Gerald). Them going to a ballgame together, especially post-lockdown, was really lovely (and I love Jim with his secret Phillies top underneath, hehe). I also loved Pam surprising him, and the hotel scene at the end was just perfection. This is such a perfect Father's Day fic!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. We see more of Pam's parents in canon so I always like to bring Gerald and Betsy in when I can in my fics. Glad you liked this one. It was a lot of fun to write so it warms my heart others enjoy it too.

What a great Father's Day contribution!
I particularly liked your paragraph about how it's beginning to feel more normal. It was a fantastic boost.
Austinites have the best of both worlds in baseball -- Astros for NL, Rangers for AL, and Round Rock just up the road for minor league for a weeknight game.
Jim having his Phillies tshirt on for the game was a nice touch. No matter where you go, your original home team still keeps your heart. I'm on my third Dodger cap!
Good onya
Author's Response: Thank you. Everyone's had a rough go of things as of late. It's time to enjoy life again. They are in a good spot for lots of sports true. And yeah Jim is a Phillies fan through and through. Glad you liked it.

Well, this was delightful. Much like your Mother's Day story, it succeeds both generally as a parenting fic and very specifically as a fic of this moment - Jim's excitement at being able to be back at the ballpark and seeing people without masks, the emotional reunion with the parents, there's just a lot of stuff that really speaks to this bizarre, universal experience here.
As always, you did great making Cece and Phil feel real, and taking advantage of Pam's mischievous side. Thank goodness she's on the side of the angels.
I will also have you know I have been going back and forth in my head over whether kids raised in Austin between 2014 and 2021 would be likelier to root for the Astros or the Rangers, and I have come to no conclusions.
Happy Father's Day, my friend.
Author's Response: Thank you for the review and wishes. I'm glad you liked it so much. It's always fun to check in with the Halperts down in Austin. It's been a rough stretch for everyone so it was nice to get some perspective as we come out of those times. I picked the Astros for this on based on their home schedule for the day and also Houston is closer to Austin than Arlington where the Rangers play. Thanks as ever for your friendship and support.

First off Happy Father's Day to you. In true Warrior fashion, on your day you have given us a gift with the story. I got all the feels reading it. Pam has really started to become so much like her husband in her Jim-like gestures. Arranging for Betsy and Gerald to come visit was a wonderful surprise for Jim and for us readers.
The exchange with the Astros jersey and the Phillies tee felt very real and in character for both of the men (and we barely even know Gerald but I just see this from him). And that's a good dad, letting his kid be his own person and not forcing his team on him and more than that supporting his support of the team he wants to follow.
The various scenes were all lovely and easy to picture. I haven't been to a Dave and Busters in forever, but I can remember how much fun it was to take the kids (and play games myself if I'm being honest - I've always been one to partake in the fun too) and enjoyed seeing they had their private time at end.
It was a nice way to mark the year - year and a half really - that we've all just lived through - and you've hit on a lot of the ordeals that we've had to adapt to over that time. But you always nailed that feeling of excitement being out again at things like ball games and indoor play spaces and seeing family and being able to hug them with confidence and love.
Well done on all fronts. Thanks for taking time to write and share this lovely piece.
Author's Response: Thanks Max. It was fun to bring this one to life. Espeically in light of the last year and a half or so. All of Pam's surprises were a lot of fun to bring in too. Glad you liked them all. Thanks as ever for the detailed review.
