Jim surprising Pam at her apartment is all sorts of sweet. Finding her in her dressed down comfy clothes and glasses is fun too. That Jim likes everything about her, glasses included, just hits home so well. Kisses and ice cream help in that regard too. Loved this one.

This was so adorable, I loved every moment of it: Jim surprising her with ice cream, her dancing round the kitchen with her glasses on (also, excellent song choice), him falling even more in love with her because of it, and his happiness just at getting to see her like that…this is basically everything I could ever have wanted from a backstory about Jam and those glasses 😍

Oof, this was painful to read. And brilliantly written. I feel like this bit sums up so much of season 3 so well:
‘But then the awkward silence creeps in and they’re stuttering, and they’ve never had trouble just talking before. The past is now haunting him, the future terrifies him, and the right now feels suffocating.’
And then the ending is so bittersweet - poor Jim. This was so good!

The chapter title was enough for me to hurt, and then I read the chapter. Ouchyyyyy. Jim’s cautious, self-regulating enthusiasm at Pam’s responses to the phone call and to him are just spot on. I honestly didn’t even make the connection of them having a hard time talking until I read this chapter (although that’s probably because I try to forget season 3 ever happened.) Team Halpert, aly!
