Ahh, this was so great! I am actually fully with you on the love at first sight thing being very romantic but not that realistic - I can totally believe that this is something Jim would think, but actually have fallen in love with Pam over slower time (and over something deeper) exactly as you’ve written here. So this was so lovely to read 😍 the moment of Pam running up to hug him is so sweet, and then them becoming each other’s life lines and that being the only non-fine line in their relationship…such a great way to capture their S1/S2 interactions. I loved this!

This was an interesting take on this kind of moment. I feel like there could be a lot of little inflection points like this in their relationship, and this was really well done.

Yeah, I liked this one - at first i thought you were going to go somewhere different with it - my husband won me over when he took care of me while I was ill at a group gathering - and I thought going to be what did it for Jim.
But even though it wasn't that, I enjoyed this story and the moment (which was really a build up of so many moments) Jim fell in love.
The vision of Pam was one I could see completely and one I could see Jim cherishing forever.
Good Stuff

Love at first sight is a romantic notion, but it also suggests the primacy of fate - whereas chemistry that grows into something deep and true ends up being what a lot of our real stories are about. I'd call it adult rather than cynical.
I also really like this moment you've crafted - the parallel to The Merger is well done, and it seems like the sort of little moment that might catch and take hold in Jim's mind, her actually needing him and valuing him. Pretty insightful stuff.

A very interesting concept to be sure. Realistic too I think. It's easy to have an instant crush on a pretty and friendly face. It's another to develop deep feelings. Those kind of feelings take time and I can easily see it taking a year or so for that to develop with Jim. The real thing that clarifies it for him is having her just rush up to hug him like that was really great. Just friends don't really do that, so in his mind what else is he supposed to think that maybe in someway she has more than friendship feelings for him too. Granted they're still years from fully realizing that at the same time, but it really feels like this is the set up for why they are so great together. Because when their connection is severed it feels like the life has left the room. Great job to bring that out.
