Alright I've been very bad about reading *anything* lately but with the anniversary of When Harry met Sally's release yesterday I decided I better read this 2021 Fave overall fic winner ;).
Amazing first chapter, I was curious how you'd characterize Jim and Pam since I don't think it's too much of a stretch to imagine Jim cynical like Harry and Pam neurotic like Sally. But you made the right choice just to keep them themselves and honestly this reads like it could've been Jim and Pam's canon meet-cute.
You included so many show details in completely organic, seamless ways I'm sure I didn't catch them all. Jim's corolla, ham and cheese, Roy thinking Jim may be gay (“Well, I had my suspicions. But somewhere around Cleveland when you talked about basketball for twenty minutes I decided against it.” - love this!), "Absolutely I do". And then of course the details from WHMS ("You'll be the only person I know in New York") AND the "only bed" trope aka the best trope right off the bat?? Just great work all around.
I like how you've set Jim and Pam up to be fulfilling their canon dreams, Jim interning at Sports Illustrated and Pam working at MoMA, let's see if these dreams turn out to be all they hope for. Again great work, I'm hooked!

Excuse me while I SOB. This was seriously so, so, so good. The whole thing. My heart broke repeatedly, I wanted to die a couple of times, and really wanted to slap Jim and Pam throughout the whole thing, which means it is a perfect story. Im so so so glad I finally read this (sorry it took so long), and I will now forever love this.

This fic was amazing. I've already read it more times than I'd like to admit. The way that you so seamlessly transitioned between scenes/moments in WHMS, the Office, and Felicity was spectacular (as a huge Felicity fan, there was so that reminded me of the show- and I'm guessing it was intentional- like when Pam asks Jim if she looks okay and he responds with the Noel-esque 'uh-huh'). Love the tension/buildup you created in the earlier chapters and the payoff in the later ones. Fantastically written. So well-done! Also- it might not be as popular, but if you were to ever write a fic about Jim/Pam in the plot of Felicity (I mean, I guess Roy would have to be Ben, and Jim Noel, for the plot to work- but I always liked Noel better anyway), you'd have a very devoted fan ;)

Wow. I liked this even better than the movie (which I love, and just had to re-watch). The way you blended elements of both stories was incredible. I especially liked how in character Jim and Pam still were, even in this completely different set-up. So well done!
