Oh God, this is so cute and I'm so glad I now know about that plot line because it's so perfect and so Jim. Of course he would find a way to make rocks something sweet and romantic. Also, I totally loved where you went with that. The idea that Pam not only kept the rocks all these years, but that she used them and now can pass them down to Cece it's such a beautiful concept. I just love the whole thing, okay?
Thank you so much for writing and sharing this story with us!

Little Cece is so adorable! I vividly imagine her with honeycomb curly hair, Jim’s big nose and hazel eyes but Pam’s smile. A perfect miss of her parents.
“she rubbed it a few times, refusing to acknowledge what her heart was actually wishing for. “ she’s wishing for Jim. This is a sweet idea for their “season one” Christmas. Love that Jim meant to give her a watch but back out and give it to her years later. Oh Jim.
Aww, I am not exactly sure if I believe those rocks have actual magical powers (Jim probably did pick up some nice looking rocks/or pebbles somewhere around the building) but I love that they still give her something to hold on to and hope. Give her strength to keep hoping. I like that better than they having actually magical powers.
Aww! Knew it! Actually pretty sweet what he did and quite creative in a very simple way. Aww! This is adorable! Again want to give you a thousands jelly beans!

This was a really sweet one.
Your characters were true to canon that this could have made it to one of their deleted scenes for real. Great job :)

This was so sweet. A lovely look at some magic moments in jam history brought on by the *mystical* stones. And what a perfect last line. Because they work.

This was the fluffiest thing I have ever read, but SO CUTE!
WW, I absolutely loved this! I loved your reworking of this deleted scene, and how it truly fit Jam's story, AND for Cece and her nerves about school.
This was beautiful!!

Ahh, this was all so lovely!! The wishing rocks thing is cute enough by itself, but bringing it in as a way for Pam to reassure Cece is just gorgeous, and the way you’ve written them here is so sweet (I also loved Cece’s ‘sorry you had to have Phil too’, lol).
I really like the idea of Jim grabbing the rocks last minute after he panicked about the watch, and Pam treasuring them anyway - ‘she turned one over in her hand a few times, remembering the look on Jim's face as he had opened her gift for him. The way he smiled. The way he made a bag of rocks feel like a bag of diamonds’ is so, so good.
I loved all the insights into how she’s used them over the years through her relationship with him - the Merger one in particular really stung. And the ending, with Jim asking her why she kept them all these years, is just perfection. Basically, this is everything and more that I could have wanted from the reference in that deleted scene! 😍

This was really sweet and I really enjoyed reading this. What a great callback to the script, a real shame we didn’t this on the show, ultimately.

I have been waiting with baited breath for SOMEONE to write a fic based on that reveal from Moroccan Christmas. Thank you for doing it on an as auspicious an occasion as the birth of our own TPB.
Also, I loved this. The dialogue feels so real to both the parenting experience and to Jam ("I swear we were just in the hospital, mixing her up with another baby." STOP BRINGING IT UP JIM.) The way you're playing with sense and memory in this fic is just really skillful writing, and the details are terrific (the Pennsylvania-themed jewelry box!). I love that wishing rocks turned out to be a genuinely thoughtful present, even at the time, and how Pam actually relied on them during the rough moments in Season 3 (not initially for talismanic reasons, but because they keep her connected to Jim) is lovely.
"Because they work." You slay me.

This was just 100% the best. I loved how you took those lines we got from the podcast and shaped them into this. Tying their journey together through this lens was so well done. And to pass them onto Cece to keep the magic going was even more fun. Jim's realization that she kept them was also great fun. Great job. I loved every bit of this.

Author's Response: This is the most heartfelt review I've ever received. You make excellent points and have picked up on all the subtleties and nuances I tried to convey. I will be printing this and framing it as a constant reminder to keep writing.

*insert Marie "how romantic" gif, Kristin Bell gif, and Fluffle Shuffle gif* because LADY you have outdone yourself! When you told us about this deleted scene I wanted a fic of it so bad, and holy heck you did it justice. Guh. I can't even think straight right now. I'm just going to give you 5 beans for all this sweet, fluffy, jammy goodness, but especially the part where he CAME BACK TO SEE HER AT 11:30 because I'll be thinking about that for the rest of the night.

Quite possibly my fave Momma Pam oneshot. She is so incredibly sweet with Cece and I love how you brought back the wishing rocks. That steamy scene was also A+++
