This story is the definition of 'hot fluff'. Who knew sweet and sexy went together so well? I was not excited to see Michael featured in this story, but my concerns were misplaced, because you use his character in a measure and way everyone can take. I cannot wait to read the rest!

I’m so happy about more Jam from It Had To Be You! And this is so lovely, and Christmassy (I know I’m late, but shh). The call-backs to the pyjamas and the NYE dress are gorgeous, and I love the idea of them sneaking off to have a snow day together, and Jim doing all the cheesy Christmas stuff that she wanted: it feels so well-deserved and fun after all the pain from their previous Christmases. Having said that, I’m also a very big fan of the everything-goes-wrong but Jim and Pam are there for each other: and the Christmas with both sets of parents AND Michael & Holly AND Kelly & Erin is just the perfect recipe for disaster - the escalating terrible-ness is brilliant and very funny. Even if I really felt for Pam throughout. I really liked the note of Pam’s dad not actually being very impressed with Jim, and the emergence of flustered/slightly less smooth Jim, who I always love, as a result. But it then actually being more about Pam’s parents marriage, and Jim taking her dad onto the roof to talk about it, is so so great. This was just fantastic from start to finish! And the perfect mix of steam, fluffiness, and Jim standing up for / comforting Pam - basically everything you could ask for (2 weeks after) Christmas.
PS I’m not good enough at wrapping to be able to follow Pam’s instructions on this three pieces of tape business, but…I am v impressed that you worked in an explanation of it.
Author's Response:
I'm so glad you were able to check it out! Glad you liked it, thanks so much!
(And yeah, the three pieces of tape thing is so second nature to me, I have no clue why it's confusing...? but to each their own, haha)

I know this was for someone else but I feel like it's a bonus gift for me (and the rest of us) too. You know how much I loved the original story and this is just the best follow-up - wonderful, you gave me the feels all the way through this, captured the wondered of and between them and I love how you resolved William Beesly's issues via some great Jim-ness. Bravo!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading and your review!

OK, so I read this already, going back and writing the reviews.
This chapter was utterly brilliant and hilarious in equal measure, especially Jim and Pam totally getting caught by Michael and the entire family (that man needs a slap, really glad Jim steals the key back later) - so, so good!

TD.
Tiny.
Dundie.
This was SO good. The way you write Jim and Pam is one of my very favorites. So adorable and true to character and amazing. The way you worked in all the elements was seamless and my WORD...the steam. The STEAM. Ugh. I loved it so much! Sorry it took me so long to read. Haha happy holidays!!
Author's Response: I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to read and review <3

I loved Jim’s convo with her dad. It always hurts me on my rewatches of Pam going through her parents’ divorce, so scenes like this WARM MY HEART.
Oh, thank GOD it was Holly who found them in the bathroom.
KELLY AND ERIN HEARD THEM?!?! OH MY GOD, I FELT SO EMBARRASSED *FOR* THEM.
I’m so happy they all were happy for Jam with their announcement. I mean, how cool is it that Pam and Holly are expecting at the same time!!
I also LOVED this ending!
TD, what a GREAT FIC!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much girl! Glad you enjoyed!

Okay but, why does a shitshow of a Christmas party fit Jam so perfectly?!
Ugh, this was beautiful. Between Michael busting their door down mid-steam to their families and Jam in the bathroom and THE MIRROR (which was utterly perfect, btw), I was in AWE. TD, you continue to amaze me, dear!

Okay, there was SO MUCH going on in this part, but that's what the holidays are like sometimes! You wrote this so well. I'm getting all the chaos from all its sources as well what Jim and Pam are thinking. This is my kind of angst haha.

Omg, this is TOO CUTE. I gasped out loud when I read "twelve-week ultrasound." I love any time they jump into marriage and parenthood with both feet, and this setting just makes it all magical.
Oh, and how could I forget:
*“Ha,” Jim replied half-heartedly, biting his lip. Pam noticed her lip gloss was smeared all over it.*
LOVE TO SEE IT.

TD, this was absolutely ADORABLE! Between the subtle steam, all the callbacks to IHTBY, the PREGNANCY AND ENGAGEMENT ASDFGHJKL, and Michael and Holly crashing their family Christmas party? This was perfect. Merry Christmas, TD! This was amazing!!

What a delightful way to wrap this one up...go Kelly for being Kelly and kind of saving them only to be Kelly and spill the secret later.
Oh and didn't Pam think this was what his brother's would say about her.
I thought Jim's talk with William on the roof was really well done, mixing together the show and your prior story and just the whole thing about not wanting to wait any longer was well said.
Sad fate for the snow globe but hopefully they still have them at Macy's - and she got the real thing in the end.
Loved what you did throughout and the note it ended on. Great job!

SO first off - I kind of love Snow Globes - find them magical and mesmerizing and well so what a perfect gift for him to give her - especially with her love of snow, their shared love of the city (that I also love) and in light if his knowing Roy had flaked out on getting her a gift for Valentine's one year... good way to bring that in and also the three piece of tape way to wrap presents - glad she's teaching this to the right man though.
But how he say I wanted you to have snow for Christmas one way or another - well that melted my heart.
Okay so I love the bits about the pregnancy hormones - and that it got them in trouble (with the help of Michael and the ill-advised key he had). Um the boner-patrol was absolute Michael and the 'only really good friends show up early' - greatly repurposed here.
Jim was adorable being all nervous and out of sorts after the horrifying incident of getting caught - what with Pam's dad already making him nervous. SO what else could go wrong...well a lot as per this story.
Kelly showing up, Holly and Michael stealing their thunder announcing their own pregnancy (but how fun Pam and Holly will be pregnant together) but the worse news seems to be about Pam's parents. 'When I said I wanted it to snow on Christmas I didn’t mean I wanted a shitstorm.'
At least you gave us a little fun and games with their contest (but isn't that more Seinfeld than The Office?) but it was fun how you snuck the wagon wheel in. And the scene that came out of it - oh boy....
Loving it - and on to see how this story wraps up (three parts like only three pieces of tape?)

I loved this!! Obviously had to go back and read It Had To Be You first, and I fell in love with this Jim and Pam all over again. I loved how this time we got them without the angst, it did my poor heart good!
Loved the awkwardness of everyone knowing what they were doing on the kitchen counter, it was hilarious! And the sweet conversation between Jim and Pam’s dad. Ugh too cute.
We need ANOTHER sequel here. There’s a baby coming after all….

I could live in this universe that you created. I feel like I KNOW this Jim and Pam! The Christmas Vacation "Where's the tylenol?" vibes were perfect.
I loved how Jim just wants to make everything right for Pam, and the moment where she tells him to drink for two is just perfect. Kelly and Michael are done so well and had me literally laughing out loud. And I love how you tied everything up with the rooftop conversation.
Oh and I love your note about the crazy accuracy. What a great kind of crazy!
This was a perfect holiday story! Please keep writing this Jim and Pam. I will always read it!
Date: December 25, 2021 08:13 am Title: Part 1
so excited to see this universe came back in the form of a Christmas fic.
the way you write them and their life in the city -so natural and authentic.
Lines like this -They’d spent every scorching, sticky weekend together enjoying the city, complaining about the heat, then ultimately retreating back to Jim’s air-conditioned apartment to engage in activities that left them sweaty again anyway. - just feel so right.
The story of them enjoying the day was fun - loved the little bit with the PG libido (I touch on that too in AFD - The Alien so I was in tune with that)
Then in comes the tension with Roy, learning how Pam's dad is and the real threat of a Michael-style Christmas - looking forward to seeing what the rest of this story brings.
Oh and Merry Christmas
Author's Response: Merry Christmas Max, thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy the rest!

Nice way to wrap it all up. Though I'm really sad about Pam's snow globe. Good thing she got the real thing this year. I've got a feeling she'll find a new one under the tree for her next year.
Really liked that Jim stepped outside to talk to William. In canon Jim tends to be a little wishy washy when it comes to potential awkward conversations. He had plenty in this universe too in your previous story. Sounds like he's gotten over that. Not really for himself, but for Pam because that's what she needs. Nice way to bring that about.
Loved all the little details about everything else too. Especially that they can have a nice morning after the craziness that was their party.
Wonderful addition to your universe and the Secret Santa fic exchange.
Oh and one more thing. "Die Hard" is 100% a Christmas movie. Merry Christmas.
Author's Response: Merry Christmas warrior, and thanks as always for the reviews! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Big chapter here! Lots of fun with them getting ready. Jim's present was so very sweet. No matter what, she'll always have a white New York Christmas. Though everyone walking in a that particular moment? Classic. Especially since it was Michael leading the way. But seriously? They couldn't have called first? Anyway.
The slow slide as the party descends into madness was just classic as well. Even though they tried getting it all back, it just keeps going downhill. Kelly and Erin showing up, Kelly making her normal Kelly comments about rings and dresses, Michael and Holly upstaging Pam and Jim without even knowing it. Then of course the news Helene and William break. I get why Pam would want to get out of there.
The quickie in the bathroom though? Holy hell that way hot. Of everyone to find them I'm glad it's Holly who does have some sort of sense about her.
Onwards to find out where we go from here.

Love the setup and their seemingly magical New York day playing hooky. Really excited that the baby is on the way. Now that they've found each other and are together it's lovely to envision.
A random Roy appearance. Hmmm, wonder if that'll go any further. Guess we'll see.
So a William Beesly who isn't really a fan of Jim. Jim's parents also coming to town and now throw in Michael and Holly? This seems like it'll be a Christmas to remember that's for sure.
Date: December 24, 2021 06:17 pm Title: Part 3
I love so much about the things drunk Kelly chooses to be. Although really - it is *highly* unfair that *both* of Pam's wingwomen are worth at least twice Jim's one. Not that it helps here. I'm with her, this is a lot. Poor snowglobe.
This rooftop conversation is great - well designed, well located, and I love that the tire changing is coming up again! Wonderful callback.
And Pam got her White Christmas! Lovely.
Okay, this was wonderful, and you did really well getting all the ingredients in here!
Author's Response: Thank you so much (and for your help as always!) Merry Christmas!
Date: December 24, 2021 06:08 pm Title: Part 2
Jim is a very wise man here. Better safe than sorry re: the no presents request, especially given Pam's history. And the snowglobe is so cute! Shame about... you know. (This is always a really cool way to work the finale line in.)
Them getting caught is hilarious but HORRIFYING. Like, people have nightmares about this sort of thing. The detail of Pam having flour on her butt makes it art. Amazing. (I'll also say again - this is kind of on Jim. He knows Michael well enough to know that key is not going to be used as he intends.)
This bet is *extremely* dangerous. Y'all are not helping Jim act like a normal person, guys.
Awwww, Kelly. Delightful agent of chaos. Very sweet gesture. AND you actually know to text in advance unlike certain parental units.
"I’d say… a bunch of ex-girlfriends who are now in the Witness Protection Program." So true.
THE WAGON WHEEL. Awesome.
Ooooof. What a perfect storm of terribleness. Them getting caught, Pam's parents splitting, Michael and Holly stepping on their toes... way too much going on right now. Poor kids.

YES for a return to the It Had To Be You-niverse. And having it return for Christmas, letting Pam do all the things she wanted to do as part of a New York is lovely. This chapter is clearly setting up for chaos, but also a nice taste of Jam domesticity, in all its combined steaminess and adorableness. (Pam complaining that Jim is waking her up from a sex dream about him is great.)
I also thought you did quite well balancing the stand-alone aspects with enough callbacks to the original story to warm my heart. Boy, Roy is just painfully awkward here. Consider that bullet dodged, Pam.
Uh, obviously I'm cheating having already read the rest of this, but ending this with the introduction of both a Jim-Mr. Beesly conflict *and* the presence of Michael was a nice choice.
