Hi, finally all caught up with this and it was truly one of the most lovely things I’ve read. I love how you captured each of them so well through this third party observer/sometimes gentle push giver and it really painted all of these familiar characters in a new light that I just adored. I loved every second! Perfection, each chapter.

Catching up on all of these because I am a terrible person and haven’t been on MTT in ages, and my intent has been to write a review at the end. But I had to stop and say that this one made me cackle.

Cupid,
All of this was just so clever and funny and entertaining. Very interesting to see when and why you meddled, when you let nature take it course and when sometimes your sparrows got misdirected (yikes Toby's sparrow hitting Roy almost resulted in disaster).
The whole bit with the building/parking lot got me in the feels.
The voice throughout this fic was so well done. And to end in with Beauty in the ordinary ...LOVE!

Girl, you killed this. A triumph.
*(That half-smile has been my best friend when sending sparrows to women about Jim. He's quite a handsome fella.) *
Yes, yes he is.
*I am fond of a fair amount of people I encounter. Really admire and like them. But every once in a while I come across someone really special. Like Betty White.
But this isn't about Betty White. This is about Pamela Morgan Beesly. One of my very favorites. *
Isn’t she all of ours? *heart eyes*
*Man, I wanted to send so many sparrows. Freakin' moral compass or whatever…*
HA! Loved this.
*It took Jim leaving to really cause Pam to dissect her relationship with Roy. Had she ever been happy with him? I think the answer was definitely yes, but it was as if there was a finite amount of happiness she could have with him and she had reached that limit long ago. Now she needed more.*
This is such a perfect assessment of post-breakup Pam, realizing everything she’s missed out on.
*It was a painting of the building she worked in. It was the place she found herself. Her hand ran over the painted parking lot. It was the place she met Jim. The place where she lost him. Twice. It would always be more than a building for her.*
We share this headcanon. To me, it was always about that parking lot.
*They really should name that parking lot after them.*
See above.
Fantastic job, WW.

*Because as far as she knew, she had been in love since she was 15 and it felt nothing like this.*
I can't really talk about my reaction to angst without sounding like an awful person. Just know that this line is brilliant, and you crushed this fic. As always.

I love that Cupid loves the ordinary beauty that Pam possesses. Really liked the way you brought us through her romantic life. That Roy was just kind of a thing that happened and it just didn't stop till one fateful Casino Night. Through the angst of S3 and then the joy of everything up till S9. Then once more in that parking lot she is reminded of everything in the best way. Loved it. Great way to wrap this one all up.

“Because as far as she knew, she had been in love since she was 15 and it felt nothing like this.”
Ugh. I will forever and always love this story. You were able to tell everyone’s stories through an outsider’s eye in such a creative and genuine way. I love that Pam is one of Cupid’s favorites. I love that Roy and Pam wasnt Cupid’s doing. I love how big of a Jam fan Cupid is. I love it all.
Next year we get a full Cupid story just about Mose, right?

"But every once in a while I come across someone really special. Like Betty White." AWWWWWW. Also, sadface. Also, *Creed quote*.
Ooooof. Roy literally not knowing who she was when they met stings. But I think this meeting makes a lot of sense - they're able to see each other differently when they're in a different context.
As noted, Pam just kind of drifting into things with Roy without really noticing makes a lot of sense to me. And another ouch with Pam literally giving up art school for Roy. I know it all ends well, but jeez.
"Man, I wanted to send so many sparrows. Freakin' moral compass or whatever…" HA.
This is *also* I think a quite accurate tour through the psyche of Pam Beesly in her denial era.
ROY. GETTING. TOBY'S. SPARROW. Toby gets zero breaks. Ever.
"(Platonically, of course. I'm not into mortals.)" LOL.
"They really should name that parking lot after them." SO. TRUE. Get on it, Dwight.
IN CONCLUSION: I'm really glad you decided to take this on. A very worthy experiment in style and voice, and a very entertaining trip both through Dunder Mifflin history and through a new take on Cupid. Well done!!!

Been looking forward to this one. Great look into Jim here. That even Cupid feels that Jim and Pam are perfect for each other says a lot. It's true they had a long road to get together, and I'm frankly impressed that Cupid stayed out of the way as much as he did.
You really get a feel for how long Jim was pining for her and how devastating Casino Night was to him. That Cupid saw he had an iron cage around his heart was a challenge to be sure. However, they did get there.
I also liked how Cupid kept an eye on them after they got together. And he reminded them of what was really important that day in the parking lot.
I would give this one a jellybean, but I only have one left to give and I've been saving it for the last chapter. So consider this jellybean'ed from me.

Well, this was just lovely.

The way that this broke my heart and made it grow three sizes repeatedly should be a crime. But I love it so so so much. You captured jim’s feelings so perfectly and made absolute complete sense of why pam did some of the things she did. “Sorry sweetie, persuasion is my job” is one of my fave lines ever. But also “she wasnt pam” broke my heart and you used it TWICE. Ugh. I love you.
Date: February 21, 2022 07:56 am Title: Jim Halpert
First, I'm glad to see my exact headcanon about Jim's romantic past reflected here.
Second, that Jim and Pam were sparrow-free, essentially their own creation just naturally drawn together by being THEM was a really nice touch.
Third, "the heart can be merciless." So you can you, WW. So can you.
Fourth, "I can't feel physical pain, but if I could...oof." Me too, Cupid. Me too.
Fifth, Katy being a semi-deliberate plan of Cupid's? Love it.
Sixth, "you can't completely bisect a cord that's as tightly woven as the one the two of them had crafted." EEEP.
Seventh, "How she didn't realize his feelings right then and there will forever baffle me." Me too, Cupid. Me too.
Eighth, "He wouldn't have to pretend he liked jelly beans"? TWIST.
Ninth: CASINO NIGHT WAS CUPID'S FAULT?
Tenth: "You can imagine that when working alongside the all-powerful, you don't really want to piss anyone off." Too. True.
Eleventh: "I had never wished that I could go get a beer with someone more than I did in that moment." OW.
Twelfth, while it would be nice to be able to lay Karen off on Cupid, glad to see he learned his lesson.
Thirteenth, I love this take on The Job.
Fourteenth, the umbrella being a sparrow makes SO MUCH SENSE.
Fifteenth, heart eyes.

Aw, Michael's really gone through it with relationships, and I'm happy Cupid was lowkey meddling with Holly in Nashua

*For many reasons, I stay far away from clergymen, so I can't be blamed here either. *
HA! (Also, oof)
*But I got a little careless. I haphazardly sent it toward Angela...who happens to sit next to a gay accountant named Oscar. You remember Oscar? I saw the sparrow kind of ricochet off of him before finding its way to Angela.
Oops.*
Omg, I think this one is my favorite so far.
Date: February 13, 2022 03:38 pm Title: Michael Scott
Awww. He very much is a well-intentioned dummy.
This is an interesting take on Michael's family life - I always assumed his issues with Jeff were mainly on him, sort of reminiscent of his relationship with Toby, but it would actually make quite a bit of sense if his primary male role model genuinely sucked.
The running gag of Cupid's enjoyment of food from chain restaurants is great.
"Jan once said that if she dated Michael publicly, one of the downsides would be collapsing on herself like a dying star. Well, welcome to the collapse. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride." LOL.
"Dundie and TV trump boob job." I want that on a t-shirt.
This depiction of Michael's relationship with Holly and how he was able to be more patient *because* it was real is lovely, friendo.
P.S. I know it's not in the plans, but I would very much enjoy a bonus Jan chapter.
Date: February 13, 2022 11:44 am Title: Michael Scott
What I really like about this one is that it shows why Michael is the way he is and how his early years played into the character we see. How desperate Michael is for a true relationship but also his inability to contain himself. Michael wants to love and be loved but has no sense of subtlety. The fact these traits endear and frustrate Cupid to no end shows a great insight to Michael's character. The guy really does mean well, he just doesn't know when to stop.
I also felt we kind of got a two for one with this chapter. The bits of Jan we got while not a full analysis was also well within keeping for her.
I get a sense of relief from Cupid once Michael and Holly finally got together in the end. Relief that yes, he knows how to do his job and also that he doesn't have to deal with the craziness that is Michael anymore. He can just sit back and let them be happy.
Date: February 13, 2022 11:37 am Title: Dwight Schrute
I really like the way this chapter progressed. Cupid being able to shift Dwight's views of something seen as utilitarian to one that has much more meaning. The journey to get there was great. How it took him quite a bit to fully grasp some of his feelings and the ups and downs it took along the way. Very in keeping with Dwight and you can feel how much Cupid wants things to go right.
The last line about Mose though? *chef's kiss* Perfection in regards to how to end the chapter.

"Just know that it was frowned upon due to the ages of the parties involved. Also, I had nothing to do with it. That was all Andy." Thank god. That poor child.
"Erin dated…sigh...Gabe." Ah yes, that collective sigh we all felt when that happened.
"And I don't want to talk about it anymore." POOR CUPID! Ugh, goddammit Andy!

And for all the jokes the man makes about sex, he honestly just wants to love and be loved.
This place, this office, these people--they were everything to him.
Until Holly became his everything.
Okay just destroy me why dont you?? This was the best. I love that Cupid has a soft spot for Michael because he’s the one who wants *actual* love. Ugh. Leave me alone to cry
Date: February 12, 2022 06:51 pm Title: Dwight Schrute
I truly loved this. Dwight is stubborn, blunt, sometimes rude, but man does he have a soft side that I just adore. Im so glad Cupid liked them together so much and meddled again
