Angela as a psychologist! That sounds like a side adventure waiting to happen. And Creed continues to be used in a really fun way here.
The burning away of Mendez's human body to reveal the monster was *super* creepy, as was his top half crawling up the barn roof. Hell of a spooky fight.

Nice to see the relationship between Pam and Jim growing through all this. It brings some real sweet moments during all the chaos around them. Waking up in each other's arms, talking about their lives, Jim supporting Pam's art ambitions, Pam giving Jim that kiss on the cheek. All lovely.
Some rather thrilling heroics to defeat that boss there. Nice to have a resourceful guy like Jim in a situation like that. Still hints of ominous things to come for sure, but they're moving along.

The description of the cut-up and horribly injured cult members continuing to go after them was *deeply* creepy.
Author's Response: Yeah, in the game they are relentless. Then after a certain point in the game after shooting random ones in the head they have like a looooong tentacle thing with ragged sharp edges that busts out and they’ll hit you with it. Totally nasty.

Author's Response: He’s a creepy, dude in the game and he’s like EVERYWHERE. I shot him once to see what happened, he died, and then a little while later he was back at it asking me to buy or sell things. And I was like ???? HOW ????

Nice moment for some more bonding between them. It is fun for me at least for Jim to enjoy being in the role of protector. I think there's a lot of guys out there who enjoy having that sense when looking after the person they care about.
Really glad they found a little bit of calm while all these storms are raging around them. Nice to see that as well.

I’ve never played or have any idea of Resident Evil but this story is still stand-alone and excellent to read! I love the interspersing of Office characters— especially Dwight— and the beautiful JAM connection! So enjoyable! Can’t wait to see this continue!

A little more plot from our Big Bad guy here so that's nice. Both Jim and Pam are infected. Eesh. Hopefully they'll be able to figure something out about that.
Nice to see Jim and Pam bonding while trying to make their escape. Some nice bits of JAM and levity in a harrowing situation. I mean it's 100% par for the course that Jim would be so taken with her so quickly and also that his protective instincts kick in as they do. Not just when she tells him everything about Roy, but also when Oscar eyes her like that. Nice job.

Still loving the Dwight and Jim dynamic here. Like he tries to act professional but is genuinely worried whenever Jim doesn’t reply. He really is the best choice to be Ingrid.
I also love the “can’t enter without a key even though a bunch of people just went in” video game logic that you applied here.
Also, I’m totally down with Jack Ryan-type Jim replicating Leon’s badassery. I almost forgot that he was injected with the Las Plagas so thank you for reminding me.
He finally found Pam. Let’s hope she’s useful. Hehe.

Feels like we've gone through a few levels of the game this time around. There's always something isn't there? A key to find on the other side of the map. A wandering merchant to re-stock your supplies. The odd NPC who only gives you the barest of info to keep going.
Regardless, great job keeping the vibe going. Nice job going into detail in some fights and skipping over others. Good way to keep the pace going while still letting us know what happened. Nice ways to bring in some backstory too. What with Karen and Roy and all. It didn't feel forced or out of place.
So it kinda appears that Jim now has a parasite egg in the back of his neck. Should be an interesting development to see how that all plays out.
Really liked that he's at least gotten to Pam. I'm sure getting her out safely will be quite the challenge. Feels like they're already hitting it off too. Should be fun to see how everything else progresses.

Welcome to MTT and writing. I only know the bare bones about this game and RE so it'll be fun to read along as this one progresses. Great job with the detail and scene setting. It was very easy to picture what was going on and what was going through Jim's mind. Dwight as the guy calling to check in seems to ring true for him. As much as Dwight would like to be the one in the field, in reality he's much more the guy in the chair kind of guy. See Megadesk from canon for example.
Nice job. Looking forward to more. Also, I think there was one instance there where you called Pam, Ashley. It doesn't take anything away from the story, but it's there if you'd like to go back and edit.
Author's Response: I haven’t played all of the games but I’ve played a lot. RE4 is by far my favorite just because I love Leon S. Kennedy and I think him and Ashley would be cute together. I thought the dynamic would be good for Jim and Pam. He could be her hero.

Honestly, I can’t even count how many times I’ve played that game since I discovered it at 14… I still love it to this day. I hope I get most of the story right as it has been awhile since I’ve played it.
I know a looooot of people hated Ashley and I can see why. “Leooooon! Heeeeeelp!” But I always liked her. I mean, if I was some college student dumped in the middle of a weird religious cult and only one guy trying to save me, I’d be pretty damn annoying, too. Needless to say, I shipped them hard.
Dwight was the only choice when it came time to pick someone for Ingrid. No one could do it better.

No worries! This Jim is totally more of a Jack Ryan type. The character in the game is pretty badass so I’m just shaping Jim that was as well. It works. Lol.
Spot on, by the way! I will be making Karen play the role of Ada which is Leon’s love interest in the game (sorta) but I always shipped Leon and Ashley so I’m making Jim choose the damsel in distress in this telling where Pam is our damsel. Im glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hello and welcome to posting on MTT! I’m not a Resident Evil person. Or a horror person. But I did want to pop on to commend you for a very well written chapter and I’m sure there will be people who absolutely love the premise and the gorier stuff. I’ll certainly give a second chapter a go.
