I’m in awe of your talent because how is this a first fic? It’s so good and I’m at the edge of my seat. I love a good angst, and a good mystery (not Toby being the strangler, but what happened to Pam). I also love how Jim immediately knows something is wrong even with his gut feeling. Please continue writing and hoping for a new update soon

Look at Jim being all concerned about Pam. Clearly his heart is still right where it should be, focused on her. Now his head needs to catch up. But anyway, the message there. Knowing the context is haunting. Yet I really love that she was able to get a message through. She knows Jim knows her favorite flavor. Something so simple yet easy to overlook. Shows that she's still thinking about things. I really like that. Though I'm also scared for her of course.

I’m so intrigued!! Loved the interaction with Karen (which I never thought I’d say (as a big Karen hater) but you absolutely smashed it!) was written so well!!
And that ending with the vanilla yoghurt was so smart!!!

I wanted to sprinkle in a bit of Karen (you will see more of her 👀) but I wanted to strike the balance of her feeling like second choice in Jim's eyes, but also not seeming too one-dimensional... So, I'm happy that you think that I wrote their interaction well!
I couldn't resist the yoghurt bit - the fact that it was a member of the doc crew that let it slip that Jim had confessed on camera to knowing the flavour would totally make that memory stick in her mind even more than usual IMO 😊

I’m surprised Karen was so laidback about Jim being concerned about Pam. Karen was such a clingy pick me girl I thought she would she more jealous.
It was smart of Pam to say that vanilla was her favorite. Although I would think that Toby would catch on to her giving clues since he was creepy about Pam. You got Micheal down pretty well and the other characters in the show.
I like seeing things from Jim’s POV even though he is a bit full of himself to think that Pam would call him to tell him that she was sick after the way he had been treating her.

I'm really enjoying this story so far. I enjoy stories that give us a whole new mystery or plot and this one is shaping up to be quite intriguing. I enjoy your writing style and you've set up quite the suspense at the end of the first chapter. In this chapter you really nailed the characterizations in the office and you set up quite the clever bit of subterfuge communication. I look forward to seeing where you go with it.

I was actually pretty nervous about trying to capture the essence of the office banter, but I had fun writing for the rest of the characters and getting in their heads a little bit, so I'm glad that it came across well! They'll pop up as a bit of levity in an otherwise pretty serious story.
The key (in my mind) to all of this is just how much Jim and Pam care for each other, and how that even with all of the miscommunication and uncertainty, both of them know each other so well 💕

First off, welcome to being an MTT writer. Always fun to get new people on the site.
As for this story, whooo boy, this one feels like it's going to be intense. Jim and Pam at one of the lowest moments in their relationship and this happens. I can see any number of ways this pans out. Feels like it's going to involve a lot of twists and turns before it's all sorted. Great job for bringing in a lot of emotional depth fairly quickly. It'll be interesting to see where this one leads.

Very good start!
This was a very interesting idea for a story I just had to jump on right away. I’m really into true crime, so this concept was right up my alley.
I think Pam was too hard on herself that season because she put so much of the blame for the situation with Jim on her own shoulders while he played the victim. Jim was far from innocent in the problems between them.
I hope Jim feels like Hell when he realizes that Pam is missing because he was being such an ass to her since he came back to Scranton.
I can’t help but be curious about what Karen will think when Jim finds out that Pam has been kidnapped. Karen already knew there was a history between them.

I'm super into true crime too, and that's totally the vibe I wanted to convey - as the story unfolds, I'll be working in some of that humour that the show is known for too, so it won't be all doom and gloom 😊
S3 Pam is so interesting to me because of the transformation that she goes through during the season. I agree - while Jim and Pam were both to blame for how their friendship deteriorated after Casino Night, it did tend to feel weighted towards Pam carrying almost all of the blame on her shoulders, whereas if they had communicated better, it could have been more evenly spread.
While there wasn't much Jim in this chapter, I have a lot of plans for him going forward. I can't wait to explore his mind more, and to explore his dynamic with Karen!
