I don't know what it is about this story, but it sucks me in every time. Keep this one going, I love it.

I was very excited to see you update! I've been following this story from the beginning.
Oh, and Private James Halpert? *swoon* I love a Jim in uniform.

Great Chapter. But why are Pam and Roy still engaged? I thought that when she moved back in with her parents that she had ended it.
Author's Response:
So sorry to be confusing. I guess I hadn't made it clear enough. Pam was only at her parents for Christmas and after Jim shot her down she decided to keep being engaged to Roy although that clearly isn't where her heart is. :)
Three chapters left, and I promise I'll try to be less complicated. hehe

such an original idea!

Oh, I love this story!!
There's just one thing I noticed in this chapter. In the sentence that says, "Jim sat on the floor unaware that it was possible to love her anymore." I think "anymore" should be two words... that changes the whole meaning of the sentence to be what I think you meant.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to more!
Author's Response:
thank you so much for pointing that out! I fixed it.
and thank you for being such a loyal reader and reviewer, I really appreciate it.

I love that song! And the dress and the hair - wow. Their dancing was so very romantic. Can't wait to see where this goes next.

Great job on those photo shopped pictures! I thought Jim's was really good. Poor Jim having to go through another side of an Alz. patient. I like Pam's Mom's thoughts on Roy: "If he wanted to marry you, don't you think he would have by now?"

Cute picture of you demonstrating the straw! Your top fits right in with the story. I like the way the links help us visualize parts of the story.

I was so hoping there'd be a way for Pam to stay at the picnic when Roy left. And I'm glad Roy is now back to being his normal boorish self.

My heart broke, too. For Jim and for his Mother. My mother has Alz and I can identify with the statement that he misses his Mother because I feel that way too. I loved her smiling at him as he handed her the dinner tray. And I love Jim even more for living with his mother and taking care of her.

Great job on the 50's touches - no seat belts, cars with bench seats, operator headsets and smoking at work.

I don't know how I missed this originally, but I'm glad to have found it tonight. I love the 50's - the manners, the morals, the seeming innocence of life back then. And so far I really like 50's Roy, too.

I just got into this story and it is so good! I love the whole 50's era and your portrayal of how Jim and Pam would act is spot-on. I can't wait for an update!

So excited to get an update on this lovely story! And "You Don't Know Me" is a wonderful song, I have it on one of my JAM mix CD's. :)
Aww, swaying vs. dancing, how sweet. Thanks for including all the links, they really help with the visuals. I hope you don't leave us hanging too long for the next chapter, because I can't imagine how Pam is going to explain the dress and the pearls to Roy. Obviously, he'll never see them. ;)

Yay!!! I was so surprised and excited to see an update for this story. I was worried you'd just leave us hanging, so thanks for updating and thanks for a really, really good chapter. It was everything I love best about this story. So old-fashioned, but still so them. The pics were great too! I can totally picture Pam in that dress and with her hair done like that. In fact, now I'm thinking Jenna Fischer ought to try that for the red carpet sometime. Like totally vintage. Um, anyway, this was a fabulous chapter and I'm really glad you didn't disappear for good!
