Oh gosh, this is so sad. I love the ending, though, where Jim noticed everything about Pam's appearance, not like he's trying to but like the memory of this bad experience is kind of branding itself into his brain... awesome job including that. That's how those things happen, I think, so you including it makes this story that much more realistic. I love the line toward the beginning about Roy waiting downstairs but being a heavy weight on their back -- what a great metaphor. This is just great.

Sweet in a sad, sad kind of way. I love that it's real, and so very in-character; I could completely see Pam facing things but not having the guts to change the things she needs to face. Does that make sense?
Either way, great job! Can't believe I missed this before.

Just read this for some reason-and it was really really lovely, but very very sad.
Quite realistic though-I could totally see Pam walking up to the point where she faces things, but then waits for someone else to "stop" her. Loved it.
