I probably read this at FFN, but I am reading it here also, and its just so good, and so sad. All those almost... it could ave been .... faster, I wouldn't say easier, but it could have been faster and different if any of those almosts actually happened. Its like, it was so heartbreaking. Poor Jim. She didn't know, she didn't want to admit it to herself, whatever. It still winds up with Jim being broken hearted, but still, he still keeps up the friendship and is still Jim, even when he is so disappointed.

Booze Cruise and Drug Testing both are HUGE such perfect times to tell, but not really. I love the line... well, I love a lot of them, but the "A jinx is like a promise, and he’s never broken one. Especially when it comes to her." really just hit home right there.

Wow, great story.  I loved every bit of it.  Makes me realize that no matter how tough it is to watch Jim and Pam now, the most important aspect of their story is that she didn't marry Roy, thank god!

Author's Response: I think we can all be grateful that Pam didn't go through with it, otherwise where would Season 3 be?  Worse than it is right now in terms of JAM.  Thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

"Just so later he can say he tried" -- still gets me, even after several readings! I love that line.

Author's Response:

Well thank you! Our poor Jim probably already knew the outcome of his risk but still went ahead with it anyway.  And that's why we love him.

 Thanks again!
