We're getting such great post-finale stories and this is one of them.  That was just all around lovely.  It just felt like them.  The little attentions, the easy conversation despite the distance from the last year.  The date at Burger King in the ball pit: very funny!

This was just lovely!  This line especially - "He smiles at her when he leans his forehead against hers, and for the very first time in a year – maybe in her life - things feel like they are the way they should be."

One small thing - I don't think you meant to say "when" in this - "It’s only after the date, when she’s out of her dress and ready for bed, that she sees the note tucked away in the flowers he brought her. She pulls it out and slides into a seat at her little dining room table. When opens it up carefully and pulls out the card.

And, now I'm off to add a disclaimer to your story as per the MTT submission guidelines!

Author's Response: I knew I forgot something, ha. Thank you for adding it - I was just about to rush over and do it myself. :)

Loved the date!  I can see them ditching the stuffy restaurant (probably some place that Karen would have loved) and going for a dip in the ball pit on a dare...here's hoping this is the kind of thing we'll see in season 4

Great job!

OKAY, WOW. WAY TO BE PERFECT. I am so glad I never stuck to that "no fic after the finale" rule I had for about ten seconds, because this is everything I want for them. The date itself was so like them, and the conversation - I love that when they talk about the last year, it's not them dwelling on the past and rehashing their respective angst - they're filling each other in on their lives and moving forward, opening up and being honest with each other for once.

Of course, on top of all the emotional magnificence, there's the fact that this is the cutest thing ever and I can't stop smiling. YOU = FTW.
