I loved this story. Especially when he put it on the line with this:
"Jim Halpert: I hope not, because I broke up with her to be with you."
His anguish during the talking head was amazing.
I am sorry, however, that the expensive meal went uneaten. Not even taken with them to eat later? *sigh* :)

I'm so glad the mods featured this again, because as a somewhat new reader here, I might never have found it. This was a wonderfully done story, and an interesting changeup from the cliched "first date went great" mantra.
Very believeable, and the characterizations were excellent. Brava.

Excellent. I love when they IM. There should be a whole episode that is only IMing and no spoken dialogue. It'd be totally revolutionary!

It's been a long time since I've read any fic since so much of it is just half assed retreads of other fics, but this was absolutely amazing and perfect and well worth following the rec link to find.

Wow. This is so amazing. I absolutely loved it. Everything! It was great how you named the director of the documentary Ken and the camera man Randall, just like on the real show. So great!

Hee. The IM conversation was very funny, but my favourite line had to be: "Now she pretty much just gets IMs from Michael, who seems to view it primarily as a medium for telling knock knock jokes." That's just so perfectly Michael. Well done! :)

I read this at LJ and thought it was terrific (even rec'd it at TWoP earlier this evening,) so glad you posted it here too. Perfect character voices - not only Pam and Jim, but the ensemble too. And definitely one of the more believable first date fics I've read. Felt very fresh too - funny and poignant and very real. Really a great read.

I read this on LJ originally (twenty minutes ago actually) so it's nice that it's posted here so I can favorite it, heh.
But what a stunningly beautiful story. A thrill to read from beginning to end, and I love that you chose to pave a different road for the typical first date fics. Awesome job, throughly recommended to anyone that reads in this fandom.
