Thank you so much for writing this! I loved every bit of it :) everytime I would browse the most recent stories i would always look to see if this had been updated, and now I'm gonna miss that :( hahaha

Thanks again, and I look forward to your future stories!

Author's Response: Well, I should be adding an epilogue so you can see where these kids all ended up....rnrnThank you so much for your review. It means a lot to me to know you've been enjoying it. Getting reviews has been way too much fun.

Wow, what a great find. I'm so glad I came across this. I wish I didn't have to go to work so soon so that I could read it straight through.

You hit these characters dead-on. The little insights on Kelly were great. Ryan's thought process was brilliant too (the whole Eskimo part cracked me up).

I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of this. This is on my mental to-do list for later this afternoon :)

Author's Response: Well, I'm glad you came across it too. :) rnrnThanks so much for the review. Nothing makes me happier than to hear that the voices are in character, as I really try for it and always hope that it works! rnrn

I just started reading this today and got up to your latest chapter.  Jim taking Michael's job?  Ah, what a twist!  Jim isn't going to be happy when he finds out he's supposed to replace Michael.  Oh, boy.

This is a good story, so far.  I'm most impressed with the way you've written Jim -- his dialogue has been very spot-on.  And Ryan; oh, Ryan with his sarcasm and holier-than-thou attitude.  Even seeing it from his perspective doesn't make it much more sympathetic.

Honestly, though, I really, really can't wait to see Ryan as the boss for real!  Nice work so far.  Can't wait to see what happens next ...

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm really happy to hear that you think Jim sounds natural. I always worry about the character's voices sounding right, and always hope that I'm doing them justice. rnrnI too am looking forward to seeing Ryan's transition to being the boss. I'm really intrigued as to how that'll shake down. rnrn

Hmm, so its not just Michael who dislikes Toby. Apparently, it is once you get promoted, you hate Toby. Interesting :)

I admit, Dwight and Michael being excellent salesmen is one of the very confusing aspects of the show. Somehow, they do it, and do it well.

I think I agree, I would buy anything from Jim. I would want a recurring contract, just to insure future conversations.

Author's Response: I think all upper management must hate HR as a rule at DM. It might be yet another reason Jim couldn't move on to Corporate.

I'm not sure if I conveyed it as well as I wanted, but I started thinking watching the Initiation just how frustrating it must be to be Ryan and know so much about business, but see Dwight and Michael actually be really good at sales while Ryan sucks at it. Then bringing Jim into the picture, it would almost be more frustrating to see Jim so successfuly because he seems to hardly even try yet is seemingly really good at what he does.

But yes, I want that paper contract with Jim as well.

Thanks for all the kind words!  I have been crazy busy at work, so I apologize for not taking the time to respond individually.  But I do really, really appreciate people taking the time to do reviews.  It totally made my day!

This is excellent. You've really captured the liight animosity that I sense on the show b/w Ryan and Jim- the way Ryan notices Jim mugging for non-existent cameras, the way Jim congratulates Ryan w/out actually doing so, etc.

"Now he would be her boss. Amazingly, as he looked around the office, he realized all of these people would be his underlings.  Except Toby.  For some reason, the thought of Toby was suddenly drawing a little ire he had not expected, but he decided not to question it. "

Heeeee. I think hating HR is just a part of being upper management- both Michael and David Wallace seem to think so.

Great job, can't wait to read more!

I'm glad I read this! The Jim/Ryan relationship is interesting and there's definitely a lot to explore. They could be friends, but there's some sort of weird tension that's preventing it. I really liked this line:

Jim really probably could sell an Eskimo an air-conditioner, especially if said Eskimo were a female.  Ryan had a feeling he couldn't sell an Eskimo a husky.

Can't wait to see what else you have in store!

Oh, this definitely has potential. It'll be interesting to read how exactly Ryan fares as Michael's boss. I know it'd scare me just a little, heh. But great first effort, I can't wait to read more!

Oh you definitely have something! I can't wait to see where you take this. And I loved Jim mugging for the cameras that were already gone! Nice job!
