A reasonable version of this interaction that hits the two characters' PoVs from a very interesting angle.

Oh, this is lovely. I, too, need them to part somewhat amicably. There are a couple of things I really loved here:
Pam and Jim having their own little spat within this bigger fallout is so realistic to their history. It's small, but it really worked for me.
Also, these lines:
"Black and white fighting over grey."
"Sky and land pushing in on air."
Whew, those paint some imagery of these two women and where they are. REally lovely. Thank you for this little gem.

Good job, bebitched.  I love the difference in how the women are seeing Jim, and Pam's realization that she did manipulate somewhat...

Author's Response: Thanks! I think Pam was sorta kinda manipulating him, mostly because she saw some of the Karen/Jim moments as another twist of the knife in her gut and she was getting him back for it.

"Karen’s last day at Dunder-Mifflin Scranton is a smorgasbord of awkward silences punctuated with unhindered staring contests and tight lines that don’t even pretend to be smiles anymore."  Great line.  Really enjoyed this.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Oh, I hope that these two have some kind of interaction in the season premiere and it's not just awkward silence. We've had more than enough of that on this show! Your description is very realistic - the interaction isn't totally 100% friendly, but it's civil. And I love the ending - that Pam was the only one who really wanted Jim for Jim. Even though I don't see Karen as a villain-type, I can't help but agree. Great job.

Author's Response: I don't really see Karen as the villain either, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I can't blame her, though, because if I had Jim I wouldn't want to let him go either! Thank you!

The line about Pam deliberatly choosing the path  beside Jim's table made me smile. Pam is so often seen as a genlt quiet soul who wouldn't hurt anyone, it is refreshing to see someone liven her up a bit. Great little story (I find all versions of Karen interesting, now that The Job happened). So, this rocked!

Author's Response: I like reading stuff with Pam having that different facet too, because she just has much more to her. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

I hope they can leave on a civil note as well...it's been a long struggle for both of them.

Also: "The two acute angles in a very obtuse triangle."
Nice wordplay!!

Author's Response: I think they had enormous potential as friends and stupid Jim got in the way ;P Just kidding. Thanks!

I love it! It's interesting to see that Karen still thinks Pam planned the whole thing and purposely stole Jim from her.  And she did, just not consciously. It is good to imagine them parting semi-peacefully. I love Pam's thought at the end and the sweet description of Jim as not a consolation prize.  :) awesome.

Author's Response: Oh thanks! It's all about how you look at the situation, and from Karen's perspective I just can see how she could think it was a purposeful thing.
