What a great narrative description of "The Merger." Also good job on describing Pam's sadness after Jim rejected her.

?Tonight? No?I?m still getting settled.? He could see the disappointment in her face almost immediately. If he were here (oh...if wishing made it so) he would have seen the same look on my face.
You made me feel Pam's anxiety!
I hope our Jimmy boy starts tripping all over Pam again soon. Sad Pam makes me sad...
So good! Off to read the next chapter...

Given the long road they had in this story you did a perfect job in this chapter. I love reading all the emotions you put into their talk. It was just great. I am looking forward to their Saturday now!!!!

hey jinxcoke/skeber, and elly! i'm so terribly sorry i didn't get back to you in the chatroom tonight (my sn there is icaladenel)! i was pulled away from my computer for a while, but just finished the story now. you guys did such a great job portraying the characters realistically, and not forcing the pace of their reconciliation. and wow, the ending? definitely one that took my breath away!! what a wonderful collaborative work on both of your parts! congrats!
Author's Response: Ical!!!!! No worries :)Thank you for your opinion and review. Hope to see you in teh chat room soon!

Brava on your freshman effort, Elly! No need to be nervous - you've made me all sad like the merger, which is clearly a good thing.
Author's Response: Thanks for your review but I couldn't have done it without Skeber and her wonderful input! She is the talented one! But thanks for reviewing!

Glad you figured it out!
Okay, already, one paragraph in and I am caught up in Pam's excitment. There was so much hope that day of the Merger. And then Karen had to go screw it all up.
Oh Jim. You may think nothing has changed, but it has. Pam changed. She is single. She is FNB. She wants you! And that is all!
So sad. I think you captured that day really well, and now I just wanna go ive Pam a hug and tell her it will be okay.

I'm looking forward to more - and hopefully some fluffy happiness after all this angst! This was a good summary of that horrible, painful, episode. I'm sorry to say it brought it all back to me in almost too much detail. ;-)
Keep writing!!

Love the premise...I like independent Pam, which of course brings her and Jim together (right?!). Looking forward to future chapters.
Author's Response: Thanks for your review! Maybe they end up together, I'm not so sure. Who knows? Pam could meet someone new in New York! Thanks for reading!
Date: February 17, 2008 02:15 pm Title: Prologue
Oh i LOVE this. Pam being independent would be such a welcome change. Even if it is a bit out of character according to some. I hope that Pam would speak up and claim what is rightfully hers if she had another chance!

Author's Response: Thanks!! Next chapter should be up soon!!
