Gah! I mean, thank the dear and fluffy lord that there was a Chapter 12 update -- and so quickly! -- but I'm DYING for more Jim/Pam interaction. Like literally dying. Expiring. Coming to the end of my ability to shuffle the mortal coil. Got it? DYING!

I mean, Jim's plan is brilliant and I have to give him major props for finally recognizing what it is about himself that is so off-putting to Pam and realizing that he's got to cut that crap out if he wants to have a shot in hell. So kudos to him! But seeing him put the plan into action will be SO delicious.

OH -- and I LOVED really getting to know alterna Dwight (who does kind of resemble Rainn Wilson in my estimation). I particularly enjoyed how he ribbed Jim about his thing for a "prostitute" and then his nonsensical dating advice to get Jim's attention and then how he was quietly supportive of Jim's pursuit of Pam. Something tells me he knew Jim had a thing for Pam before Jim did. :-) And is it silly how tickled I am by the thought of the two of them hanging out and playing Mario Kart?

Well, I suppose that despite my impending demise, I can at least rest assured that an update will be coming shortly because as you've told us (not to mention demonstrated thoroughly) that you don't sleep. For that, I am kind of ridiculously grateful right now.

It's kind of crazy how much I've grown to love this story. LOVE IT. Can't wait for Chapter 13!

Oh this is going in so many delicious directions. I want Pam to totally mistrust his motives-- because really, he's not yet thinking beyond the immediate gratification- he'snot yet realixing WHY it has to be Pam, and that dawn of realization for both of them is going to be SO entertaining. Because of the fighting. And the hot. hot. sex.

Okay, my husband's going to be home any minute, so I must make this brief: I just inhaled all 12 chapters -- like, inhaled them in that barely-catching-details-but-freaking-out-because-it's-so-damned-good way.  And I will go back and review each chapter; I just wanted to say for now that I'm absolutely enthralled with this!  Such a freaking brilliant premise, and the characters you give us here - while so different from the Jim & Pam we all know & love -- are so real and fully developed and...wow.

There are about a gazillion lines I'd love to quote, but a few that made me guffaw out loud: the guys barking in the bar (struck me as so funny); the description of the kiss as a 'Tell your Aunt Edna and Uncle Sal I said hi' kind of kiss (freaking brilliant description, that), and Jim thinking she was looking at him like he'd just confessed he sometimes sends people bombs in the mail.  ?!?!!?  So freaking awesome.

My last little point before I shut the hell up: I had to sort of snap myself out of the world you so effectively create here in order to leave a review -- and when you can't shake the sense of being in an alternate universe even after you've stopped reading, you KNOW what you've read is brilliant.

Guh.  :o) If I could, I'd send you a shirtless Eliott Stabler as a thank you present.

Your details just kill me. Beef and cheddars? And Jim's inner monologue? "The Ladies"? This is why I love me some Stablergirl.

Excellent recall of the soap she bought in the grocery store- Palmolive on purpose!
I'm sensing softning here-- where's the "hotstility" going? I think they still need a big angsty blow-up.

What's the penis count for this chapter?
So curious about Jim's journey to her doorstep with eggs-- but I like it better that it was a surprise.
And, who DOESN'T think about Jim during sex?!?

Intuitive Dwight! 32.5%! "...it’s definitely going to work. It might work. It could feasibly work." Just a few bits I love about this chapter. I think Jim may be onto something - good luck with Plan A/P, kid!

Thank you for not being all Puritan about meaningless sex- cause, really- it is pretty realistic. Although, I think that he would have been sufficiently (sp?) freaked out by just thinking about Pam... but saying her name out loud is pretty damn funny. Talk about awkward.

I hope Pam's not getting too soft on him... not til the angsty angry sexual tension gets to build a little more. Don't be afraid of the angry sex Stablergirl!!! It wants to be written about!

The coolest thing about these characters dynamic is the vulnerablity that they feel in front of the other. The defenses are up, because for the first time they are dealing with an equal and that throws them off their game. I love that you can convey all that insecurity.

How can this keep getting better?  It's a mystery!

I especially love the way you handle Jim's self doubt:

The point is he has a Plan now and it’s definitely going to work. It might work. It could feasibly work.

…he’d felt something, anyway, and he was sure she did too. Or, pretty sure. Like thirty three percent sure. Thirty two percent, maybe. Thirty two point five.

What can I say, you have a gift!  So glad you shared and gave this to all of us!

Okay, you take as long as you need to add chapters. Nevermind all of us hounding you to update quickly, because this, this was goood! (But don't take too long. :) ) I love Jim's thinking!

Another winner, Bobby (Ok, that's a total guy sports movie reference that I blame my husband for . . . sorry). Anyway, here are my favorite bits:

  • Or, pretty sure. Like thirty three percent sure. Thirty two percent, maybe. Thirty two point five.
  • instead of saying God, Sunshine, how much have you missed my hot body? he says “Morning, Pam.” And she does a double take. And that is just oh, so satisfying.
  • Other people are themselves all the time, so it can’t be impossible.
  • A ‘tell your Aunt Edna and Uncle Sal I said hi’ kiss.
Also, love your Dwight. He's Dwight-esque, but also cool ;-) Keep going, girl!

OMG!  Jim is totally cracking me up.  "Other people are themselves all the time, so it can’t be impossible. He’s gonna do it."  And the whole Vivian-Pretty Woman-Pam thing?  Genius!

And now, the worst part about reading this new chapter so damn quickly, is that I will have longer to wait for the next one than anyone who actually has self-control.

There's Jim's identity crisis again... he trusts Pam's instincts about him more than he trusts himself.
    Also- celebrity defense attorney?!? Heee

I like that he called her a bitch. I mean, it's true in this case and you know she is just dying for him to call her on it. Okay, I just made up a new word. 'Hot hostility' is now "hotstility"... and these characters definitly have it. Other "hotstility" couples: Sam/Diane, Buffy/Spike, Mal/Inara, Hepburn/Tracey in everything, Hepburn/Bogart in African Queen, plus lots of Shakesperian examples: Taming of the Shrew, Much Ado About Nothing...
    I'm just rambling.

Things I love in this chapter:
    Toby is actually cool-
There is hope for Michael to be likable and genuine and more like Steve C. than Michael Scott-
    The explaination about Kelly's wardrobe-
    Roy is totally likable-
but I really love the open hostility. Very Sam and Diane- which everyone knows was hot!

Okay, Stablergirl, you've really done it now . . .I'm going to be fanatically checking all day for updates. Ignoring the grocery shopping and cleaning I have to do. Ignoring my kids. Just refreshing, refreshing, refreshing...

Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Fertilize her or get all beef ‘n cheddar on her or whatever.
  • trying to be something close to a gentleman and give her a chance to snap out of it, because he‘s totally about to just shove his tongue down her throat.
  • and he’s left standing there with a little bit of a “situation“…and a cut on his finger.

Just LOTS of funny goodness, as always!

Who wouldn't love this? Seriously- a J/P fic this totally original is like opening a window on a room that's gotten a bit stuffy and full of smoke. Although, as your biggest fan I have to tell you that this new story is distracting me from a literary critique of your stories that I've been planning. I'm thinking of calling it "Jim Halpert's Identity Crisis: How Jim uses Pam to Self-Identify in the Stablergirl Fan-Fiction Universe". Seriously- this are the things you make me think about!!
Can't wait to see where this is going. I'm going to comment on every chapter!
