I am really enjoying this. I guess I always enjoy seeing Karen getting the ‘short end of the stick’ whenever possible (does that make me a bad person?) Anyway, can't wait to see what you come up in next few chapters.
Author's Response: No I know what you mean! But as I keep writing this I feel like maybe she is just as worthy candidate for Jim in this story? Not sure which way this is going to go yet!

I'm so glad you continued this! I love this line, especially "carefully constructed," because it just conveys so much:
"He felt as if his carefully constructed ‘Best Friend Jim’ charade had fallen apart as soon as she walked in the door."
I can't wait for chapter three!
