This is both really moving and really original. Pam's mindset about the Australia trip has always frustrated me, and this way to rationalize it is a new one by me - as is the idea of her trying to see how long she and Roy can go without speaking. Break my heart, why don't you?

Author's Response: Thank you! I thought long and hard about how she should react to both Australia and the silence, so I'm really touched that it came through in your reading!

Ugh, she's so close to figuring it out and so far off... but I like how intuitive she is and how she can read into the silences - with both men in her life.

Author's Response: Intuitive is a great word! For me, a key to Pam is that she does get it, just not consciously enough to act on it. Which is an tragedy of course.

Pam's turn to not get all the pieces. Though from how you set it up, it makes sense. That Pam can't quite get that Jim might have romantic feelings fits her considering her reaction on Casino Night. Yes there may have been hints in the past, Jim reviewing the grilled cheese on the roof for example, but I could see that in the midst of wedding planning Pam could have easily forgotten about things like that and gone back to the old habit of Jim's my best friend.

Roy is still Roy and it looks like Pam's starting to see that too. Good job with this one.

Author's Response: Thanks! It was really important for me that Pam not be ready for Jim's revelation on Casino Night, and this was my attempt to move her in that direction: aware that they're important to each other, but not really admitting to herself why or how much.
