Air fist pump and the return of Jonathan!!!
And, I totally giggle because I use that same ‘detritus of our lives’ phrasing with clients all the time ;)
What a cute aside to show Pam having a spot of fun at work while able to relax knowing Jim had company and assistance at home.
This story is just SO much fun!

Author's Response: That's the fun thing about a shared universe of stories. Lots of chances for repeat characters to show up. Great fun to also show how quick Pam's wit is as well.

Jonathan sighting! Excellent. And I'm glad Jim is getting help with the mulch. He's not so much with the taking it easy while injured, I guess.

Pam's vault gag is inspired. So many different directions you can take that in.

Author's Response: When I first wrote the Journals it was during the tail end of winter. So my chore was shoveling the driveway. As this is set in the spring I had to have some other outdoor work for Jim. Which provided a way to bring Johnathan back in. Always fun messing with Dwight.

Pam is very calm for someone (family or not) showing up at her house for a visit unexpectedly! I would be panicking about how clean my house was (or wasn’t). That said, the inclusion of Johnathan was fun! And as a cousin was a bit of a twist. It seems the fanon thing that Jim has a brother of that name...
Pam pranking Dwight is always delightful. I liked the nod to the Michael Scott Paper Company too.

Author's Response: Johnathan as Jim's brother seemed to be a thing before the canon characters of Tom and Pete were introduced. In homage to those early brother Johnathan fics I recast him as a cousin. I can see why Pam might panic, however now she has a couple days of reinforcements to help with Cece and house work since Jim still has the cast on. Glad you're still liking this story.
