Well, I’m here. I’m not ready to get hurt, but you’re a fantastic writer so I’ll do it anyway.
I loved the imagery you gave us with Pam in the truck. It shows how out of place she is so well, and we all know Jim would love nothing more to drive her around in his not quite so ostentatious car.
The photo of Pam sounds adorable, and something I can 100% imagine Jim saving on his computer. The pure love he has for her is so evident. (And I’m with Pam on butter pecan ice cream!)

You may not know just where it will go but you gave it a great start and set up a whole lot of opportunities with Roy away for 2 weeks.

Even in the set up you managed to show what a jerk he is and how little he thinks of Pam while Jim can't stop thinking of her. His reminders attacking him even at the grocery store (love that Pam cooking spray reference-I could image those big bold letters screaming to him on each trip down that aisle)

A grocery store encounter - what a fun way place for them to meet. We know how much these two can turn a mundane weekend chore into something to laugh about even after they're done.

Your heart will choose it for you. That was the line that burrowed into me.

I could totally hear Jim when he called her flavor old man ice cream.

Looking forward to more. Good thing nothing is open today and have a lazy day ahead where I can catch up on some reading. HNY

I am fascinated by the idea of what sort of relationship Jim and Pam have outside of work pre-Casino Night (particularly since Niagara puts a firm finger on the scale for “they at least have some”), so I’m really excited to see you explore that, and especially in a Roy-free context! I am very much hooked by this start.

Jim’s obviously very much a creature of routine, and I like the idea that the only thing that breaks him out of that routine is Pam. “It was like a more pathetic and hopeless game of Six Degrees” is a clever line.

I love how you’ve mixed the easy banter with them negotiating this unusual moment for these two people who love/like each other but aren’t used to each other in this context. This runner with Pam being an old lady feels very much in their voices.

You just have Season 2 Jim’s thought process down here, in all his eagerness to soak up the details of outside-of-work Pam. And I love the signs we get from outside Jim’s POV that Pam is just as excited and confused – her waiting for him at the register and making a point of texting him and the carefully chosen words, like she’s trying to push her boundaries a little.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes!

I didn't realize until the end that this was the start of another multi-chapter.

Now I'm dead.

It's fine...I'm fine.

But seriously, this was awesome and Jim's longing hurt my heart.

I hope they get to watch Sleepless in Seattle together soon! Can't wait to see where you take this!

Oh WW, this hits in all the S2 feels. There's Jim pining away hoping and holding onto any scrap of anything he can get from her. And Pam is just lovely and fun, which of course is driving the mental mind splinters so much more deeper into Jim.

I really like this concept and am looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Also the obligatory Roy is an ass comment because, dude seriously taking off for two weeks without your SO and using vacation time planned with Pam to go probably hit all the bars? Not cool.

Like I said really looking forward to seeing where you take this.
