It's hard for me to write a review here because your title says it all they are so broken and the way you've painted it has left me a little broken too. The therapy session you wrote was intense and revealing and once again it actually makes me struggle with all of ,y feelings over this conflict. I like Pam am angry at his secretiveness but also wonder if he had been upfront how things would have played out. It seems like that tainted everything from the start but it wasn't everything Pam was feeling.

I'm shocked that Jim brings up her quitting at art school but glad you write it in to show that side of her.

Who is she calling. I'm very curious. Very curious.

Ok going to find out now.

"She’s been sleeping on Jim’s side of the bed every night he’s been gone for weeks, just to feel close to him; to breathe him in, try to remember what it felt like to really have his arms around her. She’d become so used to his absence, practically numb to it, that the stripped-down reality of where they are -- where they’ve been for some time -- slams into her with the ferocity of a sledgehammer, and Pam cannot hold in her tears anymore. She folds over into her lap, her hand across her face, and sobs. This is deep, real love, the kind she would die for, and it feels like everything is crashing down around her."

Well. Fuck, man.

For me the lowest point of the JAM relationship was the Monday after Roy tried attacking Jim. Pam tried to apologize and Jim threw it back in her face. He was being deliberatly cruel to her there. This chapter makes this period of them come in at a VERY close second to that point in their lives. Yes they're hurting, they're not on the same page, they're angry at each other, but I don't think they were intending to cause the other one pain. They did cause pain through inaction, fear, and a host of other things though. That's brought out really well here.

Seeing their first session with the couselor was brutal to read. By that I mean you wrote it so well we could feel all the emotions going on there as Jim and Pam try desperatly to hold on to anything that's left.

The flashbacks with Pam thinking that they don't even say "I love you," anymore really hit hard. However knowing where things go for them, it's also a great setup for things to come.

I'm intesly curious to see who she's calling. Hopefully a new update comes soon. Like I said a hard chapter to read, but you wrote it brilliantly.

Um.

I...

Yeah. I've hit my angst quota for the year. Maybe the decade. That was literally the most painful thing I've ever read. I'm going to have no motivation for the rest of the day because I'll be wallowing in sadness. Sadness and awe of how you can write like this.

Author's Response: I'M SORRY! Things will be looking up next chapter if that helps.... <3
