Oh man, I rewatched Love Actually the other day and I think Jack and Judy are actually my favourite couple in it, their scenes are so sweet and funny - so I love, love, love this idea! Especially with the Martin Freeman connection! Genius.
Michael filming a porno with Jan, with Dwight as his assistant, a creepy Creed and a Kevin who can’t stop giggling - plus all the use of the actual Office filming crew etc - is just so brilliant here. I’ve basically devoured all twelve chapters, oops, but I love the way you’ve woven in moments from the show (having them act out actual Jam scenes that turn into badly-written Michal porn is both fantastic and hilarious), and I really adore the mix of awkwardness and hotness that you’ve written between them in these scenes, and how sweet Jim is.
And then a Pam who wakes up to Roy and gets herself out of that relationship - yes please! I particularly enjoyed her realisations over the past couple of chapters about all the small ways she’s held herself back/been stuck in a rut, and the way you’ve written her progressing past those is so great to see.
I’m loving all of this - can’t wait to read more!

Really feels like Pam's starting to come out of her shell here. A a more adult grooming routine and outfit. Something she wouldn't have thought of in her previous relationship. I doesn't feel like she's doing any of this for Jim either. She's doing it for herself. Nice to see that kind of progression.
Something tells me Pam and Jim should take the time to go back and read over that contract. There will probably less surprises if they do that. That being said Jim's attempts to remain discreet are adorable even if he's at war with himself a bit there.
Looking forward to mini-golf and for Jim to find the surprise she left in the Jello. Great way to take something from canon and give it your own twist for sure.

He is just wonderfully obnoxious about in his total lack of comprehension of what's going on and his demands on Pam. Couldn't have done more here to reassure Pam she made the right decision.
So we've got a footloose and fancy-free Pam, a teapot-armed Jim... I wonder what happens next? ;) Can't wait to see it!

That was about what I figured it would be with Roy. Completly clueless about just about everything. Pam's right, he's still stuck in high school and thinks Pam is there to just wait on him hand and foot. He even admitted he expected to have his dinner made for him. It really comes across that Roy thinks the words, "I love you," are like a set of magic words that will bascially unlock Pam's pants and at the same time cause her to fawn all over him while he gets to do nothing. Well there's a lot more to love than that. He has constantly shown that he may say the words, but there's no actions or intent behind those words. He doesn't respect her, care for her, or really love her. He loves himself and the fact that until now she's done just about everything for him. I forsee that Roy's going to have a much rougher time post-break up than Pam, but that's on him. His emotional needs are no longer Pam's concerns. He needs to grow up for himself.
Well done on Pam for staying strong. Yeah it's hard to break from something like this, but she is. However all those things she wants in a relationship? They're ready and waiting for her when she's ready to open her heart again. Something tells me that probably won't take very long.
Nice job in giving us the full conversation between Pam and Roy too. I've read a lot of fics that kind of gloss over it. You didn't. You explored it which can be a challenge. But it rang true to me. Well done.

Well there's a Fancy New Beesly in action! Love that she's made the decision and is just taking charge, doing what it takes to follow through and trying to think critically about the life she really wants.
Also think this is an important note here about her and Roy's relationship - it's not so much that it's always been miserable so much as they just stopped growing together relatively early on.
LOVE the note about Jim's father fleeing two states away. Ha. Like father like son!

I love this time we got to spend with Pam here, sort of a slowing down and getting to see what's going through her head. Her shopping trip felt very therapeutic to me, and her new life without Roy seems so close! Loved this chapter.

Way to go Pam! That's the Fancy New Beesly we are all hoping to see. Though I sense a lot of awkwardness coming if she still has to share the apartment with Roy even if she's basically a roommate now rather than fiancé. Hopefully she can get her own place fairly soon. But still she's doing all sort of things for her and it's great to see. You can just feel the confidence building in her. Hopefully that will last into Sunday when Roy gets home.
Aww Jim, look at you buying her the teapot. He's so head over heels for her and it's adorable.

Roy's big tactical error becoming clear. Without his constant badgering she has time to think. And Pam reflecting on their relationship is NOT going to do anything for its longevity.
I kinda like that the studio has an appropriate skeezy version of the roof to go along with its somewhat skeezy purpose. Kind of a nice metaphor for their relationship - instead of starting in an ordinary place, it's starting in a place you wouldn't expect them to find love. Very cute.

So what I really like about this one is that it's more of Jim and Pam building their relationship outside of anything physical. I'm sure there will be more of that as we go forward, but it's not the basis of their relationship. The fact they can talk about things and are building trust is a much better basis. Still doing a great job working in things from canon and giving them new twists as well. The fight between Jan and Michael was a nice touch in that regard. Looking forward to more as always. Also really great job on getting updates out quickly.

Dear Lorde this Roy is an asshole. Pam might be doing him a favor by drop-kicking him here, because he's clearly got an immense amount of growing up to do and he's clearly not going to unless he has zero other choice.
Of course Kelly is a big believer in the life-changing power of makeovers. And really, more power to her.
"but the sets I have been on are super slick and everyone just works super long and hard to get it all done." Oh, Jim. You set her up for that.

Something tells me that Roy is going to come home on Sunday with all of Pam's stuff gone and her ring on the table. I mean, seriously, if that's not the biggest red flag of them all than I don't know what is. Good for her that she sees it too. It sucks, but it feels like she's done with that relationship.
Lots of fun with all the canon callbacks as always. You're really doing a great job working those in.
It's also kind of an agonizing slow burn with Jim and Pam. Yes they have to be physical with each other as part of this job. However they both clearly want more than what they're doing as stand-ins. Though I would posit they'd prefer to explore such things without the film crew there. Nice work.

Really like the way Jim and Pam's relationship is progressing. All the canon callbacks are a ton of fun. Jim noticing the yogurt, Pam making him a medal, the Boggle timer, Office Olympics games, all great stuff.
It may feel like the friendzone Jim, but I've got a feeling that by being there to listen to her you're laying the groundwork for something much better.
Looks like Roy is still stuck digging his own grave here. The job he practically forced her to get he's all bent out of shape about. Yeah, Pam is changing, for the better and he has not clue how to react. Probably because he's such a selfish man-child who wants Pam to just be a maid, servant, etc. And Pam's not having any of it. She's seen what it's like to be appreciated and I think she's getting clearer vision on what exactly she wants.
Always looking forward to an update with this story. Keep it up.

Ah, love to see Pam with a little fight in her... and with that fight in her because she knows for certain that SHE IS RIGHT. Good for her. And the contrast between Roy demanding his breakfast and Jim making her tea without a second thought is stark.
Oh, Kevin. So close to his dream job, and yet so far. Striking how the casual sexual harassment of The Office translates somehow slightly *more* appropriate in this environment.
This dialogue fits SO PERFECTLY. I'll never watch that deleted scene the same way again.

I think you did a good job earlier in this fic setting up a genuine friendship between Jim and Pam. Otherwise it could be seen that the reason Pam is so taken with Jim is simply because it's a new thing being in a position like that with someone who isn't Roy. However with the setup that Pam and Roy were already on the rocks before this all started and the friendship Jim and Pam have started to forge, it comes across that Pam's reactions to Jim are more real. I really like that. Especially since they're getting into more of the physical parts of this job.
Also really like that Jim is making sure Pam is comfortable with what he's doing rather than just reaching in. Shows he's a quality guy. However now he also knows that things aren't picture perfect with Pam's relationship. Not that he's going to try and actively break them up, at least I hope not. But it seems like that would give this Jim a bit more hope than what we saw in canon. Nice heart to heart he had with Betsy too.
