Always excited to see this updated! Why watch Love Island when I can read this instead?
10. Erin - I’m probably going to keep rank her last until her inevitable elimination because she brings zero drama. A hug? Really? The brother stuff’s kind of disturbing too.
9. Andy - Aside from a few side comments here and there, he’s not really doing much? Add yodeling to his singing and… dead man walking.
8. Kelly - Ugh, I hate bringing her down this low but… she had little to no screentime here. But I have confidence in the amount of drama she’ll bring.
7. Toby - Pretty sneaky of him to kiss Pam so I’ll give him plus points for that. Still, I think his days are numbered especially since his current partner has no problem dumping him the very first chance he gets.
6. Angela - I know Pam has talked about how she doesn’t know why she’s here but Angela’s the definition of “I really wish I was somewhere else right now”. She resents having to participate in all of these and I somewhat love her for it. But… she needs to up the drama.
5. Ryan - The accidental dick pic to his mom is not surprising. Probably the funniest secret here. Him trying to kiss Erin just shows the amount of potential he has. I hope he’ll last.
4. Dwight - Probably biased (and I bet Robert California loves him because he’s an easy target for animal references) but he’s so eccentric and has an alpha male syndrome that I bet he’ll rub so many people off the wrong way.
3. Karen - Scowls aren’t gonna get you anywhere. She needs to up her game and really stake her claim on Jim or she’s gonna burnt harder than a cheesy pita.
2. Pam - Unlike Erin, she’s shown that she can be nice and still play the game. I’m sure she’s not gonna waste her time here just being satisfied with her friendship… right?
1. Jim - I would have ranked Pam first but he then surprised me by then choosing Pam back to kiss. He’s the token “nice good-looking guy that everyone wants so drama will definitely follow him”. Him going to Karen first before Pam is definitely sending mixed signals and I am here for all the chaos.

I think this is a lot more humane than real life Love Island. Although, MrsKHalpert is a very pushy beta who works me to the bone - send help. A very interesting ranking, unfortunately I'm not at liberty to discuss my views on each islander as it may spoil future chapters. I'm not sure why Angela's here, but I'm glad she is.

I love Andy's sheer... Andy-ness, and how much it's working for Erin. No woman can resist a man singing showtunes. "that's what my best friend once said, and then next thing you know she got adopted by the family I was getting to know." Ouch.
"Maura Tierney tastes wonderful." I see what you did there.
Kelly being colorblind to the red flags is a sufficiently good line that I will forgive you for the wholly unnecessary u.
That is a HIGHLY disturbing but very Dwight-ish talking head.
Jim and Pam's developing rapport is extremely cute!

Yay!! Literally just woke up and read the whole thing.
I normally give my contestant rankings when I watch reality shows so...
10. Erin - She seems nice, but she doesn't seem like she's great TV. I mean, we already have Pam as the girl next door so you know, she's just... there.
9. Toby - He was so invisible this episode. Maybe he'll just silently walk around the villa and eventually disappear... and no one would notice.
8. Andy - I would shoot myself if I have to wake up every morning with him singing.
7. Angela - Reading the Bible in a house full of horned up contestants is so shady, and I love it. I'd rank her higher but she's being overshadowed by much, much bigger personalities.
6. Ryan - Go shave that beard like it's nothing...well, it's really nothing. I need him to make out with every single girl in that house. Plus points if he manages to do something with Angela.
5. Pam - She's such a fish out of water in this situation. Thank God she has Jim, even though nothing will clearly ever happen between them... right?
4. Jim - I'd rank him higher but I can't separate this snoring, abs-displaying paper salesman from his tea-loving "friend". I'm pretty it's Andy who yodels but... what if it's him? That's some BDE right there.
3. Karen - It's highly appropriate that I'm sandwiching Jim between these two ladies. I'm ranking Karen higher because... she's ready to play (I'm not saying she's playing a good game... but points for trying). I'm sure she's ready to show Jim a good time with all that experience. God, where was Angela during that orgy?
2. Dwight - I mean, he was so happy seeing two Hoopoe's mating. How wholesome is that? He might be the breakout star of this season if it weren't for...
1. Kelly - Let's face it. She's gonna hog all the screentime and for all the wrong reasons. She's so messy and I love it. Maybe if she joins in on the ongoing Pam-Jim-Karen love triangle just to be petty, she would be my absolute favorite, hands-down.

Poor Andy, he is constantly getting the short

Really a commercial break right there?!?! You're killing me you know that right?
Ah well. So a fun chapter. Jim and Pam seem to be settling nicely into an easy friendship. There's the unfortunate thing that Pam doesn't think Jim is romantically interested in her due to not stepping forward initially. I'll be willing to bet though that, eventually, that little faux paus will be rectified. I also really like the way Pam and Erin are hanging out together. Again Pam is a very kind soul and Erin needs some kindness in her life.
Karen's claws are starting to come out too. Trying to convince Jim to be near her more. Saying Jim is playing hard-to-get. Things like that. For the record no, I don't think Jim is playing those kinds of games. Karen is for sure, and thus sees everyone else as playing games too.
The rest of the islanders seem very in character. Toby wanting to go off to a corner and hide. Kelly being all things reality show. Andy's singing and lack of social norms. It in no way surprises me that Dwight has frozen his own sperm and hidden it around the farm. Or that Angela would just sit and read the Bible.

Ok so on the whole these interactions seem quite awkward save for Dwight and Angela who are pretty on par for what I would expect. Ryan starting shamelessly at Kelly's chest while she jabbers on and on seems to fit pretty well too.
Kinda, feel like Jim and Karen aren't really vibing. Sure she may be physically attractive, but beyond that first impression I don't think Jim is really all that taken with her. It also feels like Karen sees Jim not really as a guy in his own right, but as another project to work on so she can achieve success.
Oh Pam, there you go you kind hearted soul trying to see the best in Toby. Yet it really comes across that if you give him even an inch he'll wrap those coils around and start to strangle-I mean constrict and it'll be a challenge to get him to let go.
However Jim and Pam finding each other in a quiet moment and getting a genuine connection with each other? Love it. Same when they decide they're going to sleep near each other on the sofas rather than in the same beds as their dates? Is that the right word? Anyway, nice to see some nice JAM connections starting to be made for sure.

Seeing an update to this upon waking up is like getting a Christmas present. (I'm a big sucker for reality TV cringe)
Andy and Erin - Andy would definitely be the subject of a drinking game. Take a shot every time he mentions Cornell
Dwight and Angela - I wanna see a link for your inspo on Angela because given this is Love Island, I don't think she's allowed to wear a stuffy gown, lol.
Ryan and Kelly - Kelly being a Hooters waitress is cracking me up.
Pam and Toby - Sleep with one eye open, Pam.
Jim and Karen - “if a sales meeting isn’t going well I get my abs out and boom, I’ve sold ten reems.” LOL.
“You’ll have to try to find out how big he is tonight, he totally has BDE, and I mean look at you. He’ll definitely be up for it, you’re so hot Karen” -- then Jim proceeds to sleep outside. You can't make this up.
If this was actually a real Love Island, Kelly and Karen would probably be my favorites. I feel like they're built for good TV (aka drama)
Oh, I almost forgot about Jim and Pam. They're so cute in this cringefest. I wonder if they'll be the first couple to have sex though... but let's face it. I'm sure Ryan and Kelly are already up to no good.

HA. The marriage of The Office and a reality show is splendid. Very interesting genre mix.
Ryan is gloriously douchey. And the idea that Michael's crush on Ryan is essentially parasocial is kinda fascinating. And oh good lorde, Dwight. He's always himself, for better or for worse.
"My usual type was the girl next door, but I actually dated my Grandma’s next door neighbour and now she’s trying to sue me..." Oh, poor Toby. This is exactly the sort of thing that would happen to him. And Michael is delightfully awkward here.
"She chases a puppy around the white studio wall, very symbolic of Indiana Jones, the puppy being Indiana Jones and Kelly being the boulder." LOVE this.
"A blonde woman walks into the back yard, wearing a three quarter sleeved dress that surpasses her knees." Angela on a dating show is spectacular.
Hmmm. The Pam/Toby and Jim/Karen pairings sound like a recipe for chaos.

As much as I love The Office, cringey reality dating shows (especially ones involving hot and horny people) are my guilty pleasure so thank you for doing a Love Island AU.
Robert California is an amazing narrator. Very nature documentary-like especially with the way he described Karen digging her claws on Jim.
Andy stepping forward for Pam, lol.
Jim’s probably beating himself up for not waiting just a bit longer but being too nice to make a move on Pam. And I’m calling it now, Pam and Karen catfight.
