This one is really interesting. I really love the idea of them having to come to grips with the public reaction to their story, and obviously at this point that would've meant Jim and Pam having to react to things like Casino Night when they were still trying to figure out what they meant for themselves - you do a good job illustrating how they would've handled that in public while still being in immense pain in private.
Author's Response: This wasn’t the first The Office fic I had ever written, but it was the first one I wrote specifically to post on this site (I moved the other older ones over later). It’s a little clumsy, but I still like the idea behind it— what would have happened if she had married Roy, once the show aired?

Michael would have issues with Jim being the star. Hehe.
And that reference to the climbable tree, is why I will die of embarrassment if I ever meet JK. Because even though my thoughts are totally tame considering whats out there, I know whats out there. And I'd just.... eek.
It is interesting, becauase although Jim and Pam both seem very private, they also let the cameras in more than one would expect. I mean, they were in the car as Jim drove (and turned around) from NYC. Jim told them about the ring. So its sort of weird. Jim, especially. He always gives this air of being somewhat private, protective, but, he also is totally public and open.
Okay, seriously. They are fictional. I know that.
I could tell he was lying. Mostly because I knew you wouldn't let there be a story where Pam and Roy were happy together and Jim was fine with it.

I was going back over the challenges and realized I never reviewed this story! I love it a lot. Especially the bit about Jim not really telling the truth, hee. I like the idea that they'd try to hide it. I love these kinds of stories. Great job!

Ooh, I like this premise -- taking the documentary airing and all its repercussions into the real world, so to speak. I like that you don't give it a happy ending for Jim and Pam, but that doesn't mean there aren't good things going on for Jim, which is the kind of complexity that works well for this show. And of course I really like that Pam knows he's lying -- it makes me wonder about what: his feelings are the obvious choice, but the editing, too, maybe? Her feelings? Nicely done.

Aw. This made me sad - but it was a great premise. Poor Jim. I think there are more than a few ladies waiting in the wings for him though. ;) LOL! at the TWoP reference. Great job!
