I am just amazed by how effectively you capture Jim's sweetness without losing his sarcastic and snarky side.  You are SO GOOD at creating Pam and Jim's voices.  It makes what you write so much more than just well-written fluff - it makes it feel true to the show.

Author's Response: Oh man thank you. Jim Halpert is a man of many layers! Happy just to tap into a few during these little snippets of his life. Thanks so much for reading!

Love it!  I have to say, my most most most favorite line is this: "you were convincing as someone brave."  For some reason, that line just sings to me.  I literally keep saying it out loud to myself over and over again because I love the way it sticks in my ears and stays in my brain.

Author's Response:

Very interesting you should say that Melodywenn - when the pilgrim metaphor popped into my head (well, it was T-giving, after all!) that was the first line I thought of...it kind of drove the whole piece. So glad it resonated with you too...thanks for the great review!

Summary: This started out as a one-shot called "Just." I decided to make it a series of surprises instead. Chapter 3: A dozen revelations that Jim doesn’t have, and one that Pam does.

Shannon!  Not just my elf secret santa anymore, you are writing a FANTASTIC fic!  I love the twists that you're putting into this - Jim told Karen about the Dundies kiss, Pam did read the card after all.  It puts a really interesting spin on things.  I also really like that you made Jim angry.  I think that fits with where the character is at right now.  Intellectually, he is absolutely done with Pam, and it seems really fitting that he would be angry with Pam if she were to NOW come forward with these things.  I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response:

Ahh! No WAY! Best secret elf EVER! I want you to know that I my calendar is up in the living room so that all of my roommates can enjoy it with me. We mark special Office TV moments on it so we won't miss them (ex: Rainn hosting SNL this saturday is on there in bright red)

Aaaanywho, I'm so glad you like my fic! You expressed what I was going for really well (intellectually done with her, etc...).  Actually, you expressed it better than I did. heh.

I have to go transcribe (I still haven't done PC75 and Kadi just yelled at me...) so no chapter 3 tomorrow, but you know how it is :)

Summary: Past Featured StoryYup, it’s a post-Cocktails fic! With a bit of a twist. Karen does a bad thing, and Jim is about to suffer the consequences…

Okay, "monogrammed relationship" made me spit out cookie crumbs and laugh out loud in the middle of my office.  HILARIOUS.  I liked that Karen hid the cell phone call - that seems very much in keeping with her, given the deleted scene from "Business School."  I can't wait for more!  More more more!

Author's Response: Melody! Hi! Yeah, that Business School deleted scene is totally what I was thinking of when I got the idea for this fic. I don't think Karen is a bad person, but she's definitely losing it. It's an unhealthy relationship. And I have to credit WildBerryJam with the idea for Michael to trip over the word "monogamous." Hehehe.

What a fantastic, creative, original concept.  It's a great reminder that we really don't see everything, and we really are seeing it only from the viewpoint of the camera.  It puts a whole new spin on the entire show.  I can't wait to read more.

Pardon me while I weep over the fact that this story is finished.  Seriously, though, you took this kind of crazy (but intriguing!) concept and turned into one hell of a compelling, funny, hot, and believable story.   I am going to miss doing the happy dance I did every time I got an email telling me that this story has been updated, but I'm looking forward to reading whatever it is you write next!
