As angsty as this is, it's one of the cutest stories I've ever read. Also, really heartbreaking. Poor Pam. Poor Jim. :(

Great job!

Author's Response: thank you.  i was going for cute, almost hopeful angst.  that didnt make any sense.  but thanks for the review!

If it’s before 2016, then you must have had a great reason to open the letter, in which case, yay! Better start planning the Back to the Future party.

That is so very Pam it's not even funny.  In the funniest way possible.

Great job!

Author's Response: Hee, thanks! I must admit, a BTTF party is a dream of mine that will someday come true, and I figured Pam would do it, too. And she'd be happy that she opened the letter early. Thanks for reviewing!

I actually kind of love the Ryan/Pam thing, but it does make me sad that he'd cheat on Kelly (even though Ryan probably would).  Go Ryan, I say, because Jim seems to have a stick up his but anyway.  Also, yay for Karen's coolness.  Great story so far - I can't wait to see what happens.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're liking the Pam/Ryan aspect (and as much as I adore Kelly/Ryan, I could see him cheating on her...not that I want him to).  And you like Karen too! Fantastic.  Thanks for a great review!

So, I know I said I was starting to like Ryan, but now I am totally loving the R/P.  And then I saw a Jenna quote that got me thinking:

"I don’t know if Jim and Pam are ultimately meant to be together. I say this to producers all the time: ‘Sometimes that person helps you become the person that you’re supposed to be to meet the person you’re supposed to marry.’ Maybe that’s our story."

Maybe that person could be Ryan?  Either way, it's awesome (and pretty hot, too).

Author's Response: I think about that quote all the time, because its so real and very probable that Jim and Pam wouldn't actually make the perfect couple that we all hope they will, and I think John's made similar statements about that too, so I'm glad that you are enjoying the R/P dynamic as much as you are  :) Thank you soo much!

Ah! Explicitness!  I'm so excited!

Really, though, I can't get over my newfound fascination with Ryan/Pam.  I love that they gave up on hiding the affection.  Oh! Pam standing up to the bartender - amazing!  And this:

Things with Roy had been convenient, yes, but never exactly easy in any respects except for the bedroom.  And things with Jim... did she even have something with Jim?  Could she call it that?  Whatever it was, it wasn't easy and, for the past year or so, practically nothing had actually made sense to her.

Yay Pam, for starting to think that Jim maybe never was right for her in the first place!

Author's Response: I'm glad that you liked that part, it was like a last second addition! Thank you so so much for getting into the story even though it isn't typical JAM.  It seems like there are so many reasons why maybe they shouldn't be together.  More today! :)

Baahhhhhhhhh.

I don't even know how to respond.  OMFG. The whole thing was just...

and then Pam said Ryan's name? You know how to make everything perfect, don't you???

Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm so glad you liked that bit :) :) :)

I’m not giving up on this. I just wanted you to know that so that if you decide to stop running from it you’ll know that the door is open.

OMFG.  Go Ryan!  I'm so glad that this isn't turning into Pam/Jim afterall (though I was worried for a bit, with the kissing).  Also, go Pam - register for school!

I can't believe it's over!  But this ending was absolutely perfect - I can't really imagine it any other way.  You are amazing!
