You have a real knack for making me cry, but sort of smile at the same time. This is my favorite chapter, by far. Seriously, the parallel with the book is amazing. I've got to read it now. The last passage that you described pretty much sums Jim up, too, which is weird. This was so, so awesome.

Goddamn, you are so good at tension it's ridiculous. I really loved the song being a common thread, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like Snow Patrol, so don't take that lightly. =]

You know, I'm glad you said that, because I wonder sometimes if the lyrics translate to people who are either unfamiliar with the songs or hate them -- so I'm glad you said that.  With that song, it's like such a tense crescendo that builds and builds, I swear.

Wonderful, again. I've never hated Katy. She always seemed sweet, and I felt horrible for her on the Booze Cruise, losing Jim and in such a cruel way. Even though she was sort of an obstacle, I never hated her. I'm glad that you showed another side to her that wasn't bitchy. Nice work.
