One day, I shall write something witty and you will smile and laugh and be entertained by this profile. One day, I will write something witty and write more of the ensemble in general and you will laugh and smile and be entertained by some of my favourite characters in existence.

Until then, as much as I would love to, I can't [...?], and therefore Jim and Pam will be all you get.

Summary:

A series of drabbles, set after Back From Vacation (with some slight spoilers) and deviating from there. Pam makes Jim face the same difficult decision (and consequences) that she had to deal with.

Each drabble is 100 words according to MS Word, so if the summary says otherwise...it's lying. :0)

OH. oh. ohohohoh. Freaking BRILLIANT, this is, do you realise that? From Jim's reaction [your stomach is SUPPOSED to freaking clench, you have to know what Pam thinks, God.] all the way to PAM, getting him back [as in 'revenge' as well as getting him] to getting the oppurtunity to take that NYC internship!!

You probably have no clue how much I love this story, but seriously, I adore it, and I cannot wait for more. What's in the Jell-O?!

You already know I'm in basic awe of the brilliance of this fic, so this is just a simple review - I love, love, loved the chapter title of Parched

OK, fine, I've got more; I love what Pam's doing, because I imagine that's what Jim did when he first got to Stamford - except of course not with experimental classes and things, but more of just work. [maybe that's why everyone thought he was kiss-up, back in Stamford?] I also adore that we didn't see a thing of what happened that summer in the show, so this is basically an imaginary situation that's completely believable and in-character. Awesome.

Also, Numbered is possibly my favourite chapter, because I adore the recurring theme - 120. The second one is Abandoned. Goodness.

Can't wait for another five hundred words! Keep writing, this is probably my favourite incomplete fic on-site at the moment.

Oh, goodness. I thought I loved Angela and Dwight enough, but this story [with the nickels, and the cherry Jell-O! I LOVE THIS!] [and Traveling Salesman and The Return] has brought new levels to my love and adoration for them. Absofreakinglutely brilliant, and for something that's posted in drabbles, unbelievably satisfying. I'm still a bit in awe. Love this. Adore this. Awesome.

Can't wait for more!

I'm literally bouncing in my seat right now. Uhm, and my mind is fuzzy.

Happy belated birthday!! I was going to give you a telling-off for taking longer than usual to update, that little break between a few days ago, but I'm going to give it a pass because you've got an excuse. =P  Cannot, cannot, cannot wait for your next update!

This is...addictive, seriously. When I saw you'd updated I quite literally squeed [effectively, of course, clearing out the room, so I could squee over the rest of this in peace].

Amazing. The way Pam's hopes go up because he's calling her, the way she thinks maybe her plan is working that well? Wow. And I adored the way Jim realises it's her "empty line sequence": these absolute idiots know each other that well, he knows her and he knows that sequence and he is...nuts.

I like the call, especially, since it's draws a parallel between Initiation, although the stark difference is the way she hangs up but he still calls her back.

Wow.

I love this story to bits. I'm favouriting this as soon as you're finished with it. So hurry up. ;)

Wow. I cannot wait for the big guns. [twss. eh.]

And I can just say that I love that the name of a chapter is *facepalm*? Seriously: you win on all counts.

I'm going to have to leave now, but I'm waittingg.

I was scared, I thought I'd been stupid enough to miss a previous five-chapter update and I couldn't believe myself.

Ten chapters!! Joy! Karen/Jim break-up! Joy! Five more chapters left! Why am I still talking?

Future Jim. Oh my goodness, you are all sorts of freaking brilliant. A second chance! A FUTURE JIM.

I love this story to tiny, tiny pieces.

Valentines' Day is just a Card holiday, anyway. Plus we know Pam's was miserable, so. At least people with horrible v-days know that there are people around the world like them. Fictional people, too.

Actually this bee story is unbelievably funny, too. I can imagine him jumping around like that and her laughing at him hysterically before jumping to his rescue. These two are idiots. This is like tonic after watching the Jam!horror of the past few episodes.

I'm sorry, you don't need so many reviews. I'm going to shut it.

Reviewer: moofoot Signed

Oh, goodness, how can I possibly describe how much I adore this story? It's just so unbelievably, gorgeously JAM, the way they talk and speak and the drawings and the genius, imaginative way everything happened - pranksters Jim/Pam, and actually pretty much all sorts of perfect. The Dwight/Angela were made civil and more lovable than they already are, which is pretty tough so points for that, and they were still completely in-character [brazen hussy, oh, Angela!!].

And the Jinx was pretty much a brilliant way to finish the story off.

I haven't done this story even a fraction of its deserved justice with this review, but - seriously. Loved it, so, so much.

A sequel would be positively amazing! Slightly fluffier drabble!Jam would be awesome. Goodness knows we're going to need some fluff, considering what the show's been giving us. ;)

Author's Response: for such an awesome, amazing, can't find the words to describe how awesome, super reviewer...done. sequel!

You don't know how much I love this - right from the start, from the way Pam's started to rely on Angela and Dwight because she has no one else, to the way she's bringing back Casino Night [the wording in that chapter was freaking brilliant, by the way] and making him feel what she felt when she heard something pretty out of the blue, and when she was attached, and when she came back to the office he wasn't there.

I love this idea, and I adore the way you've written this - sparse and to the point and somehow the way each character is tackling this is so in-character. And I adore the way you've written this. =P I can't say it enough.

I can't wait for an update!

I love you for updating when I was read the chapter!! You don't know how happy that made me. =P Seriously. I'm a dork.

And I love you for writing this - Pam having a friend, Pam *being* a friend, Jim having a past [I always knew that something else had to have happened to him before, something like Pam but a little different; there's something so deep about the way he acts and feels and things that I don't think Pam was the first], Jim being a dork [and dressing in a afro and white suit!! I would pay good, good money to see that, I can promise you that] and - everything. I love Sadie, I like Jonathan, I love Dwight and paintball.
I love the final Jim/Pam scene, and I would love to see what happens from there.

This has made me grin a lot more than a lot of things have in a while. Awesome in more ways than one - thanks for writing this!!

Summary: Maybe it was just growth. Forward and back. Inescapable.

The Shins! So apparantly you're all-around awesome.

And considering you've spent the waking hours of those nine months trying to convince yourself of NO - the yes comes out smooth as silk.
I loved that line. Pam is an overall warm and easy person who is hard not to love, and to fall out of love with, even worse. I don't see how Karen can replace her.

I'm interested to see the POV from the next episode, because I don't get it, how she can still be with him and not be completely Krazy!Karen.

Loved the first-person, loved it, because Pam seems like the kind of person who would write her deepest emotions and thoughts in a journal that she put deep inside her dresser where no one can ever find it - it fits, because it's Pam: she doesn't do that sort of thing, to talk about things like that. I'd like to think that the last time she wrote was some time before she met Jim, before she had someone to talk to - she may not have talked about these 'deepest thoughts and feelings' but she had someone to talk to, and Jim was perfect for that.

And then maybe it was in May that she decided she needed to keep things to herself because the last time she did something on instinct she broke two hearts and her own.

I'm creating too much of a background to fictional characters. :$  and this isn't even canon!!

Also, I adored the paragraph on the things Jim doesn't know, but she wants him to know...lovely.

It flows and meshes together so well I practically turn into mush every single time I read a chapter by you. Gorgeous, as always!

Author's Response:

You make me laugh - I was sure no one thought about Jim and Pam's actions (outside of what we see every week), as much as me. But I think you're giving me a run for my money. Of course, I suppose all the people posting work on this site spend a little more time than most, pondering that topic. ;)

Whatever the case, in my mind, the last time she wrote was probably the day she called off the wedding... and before that, Casino Night. But who knows what Pam does when we're not around. :)

Oh, lovely. Hopefully he comes to that same conclusion in canon!, too - considering, especially, how they were standing in the same frame [!!! - heh] in the Safety Training promo...

The thing is, this is completely believable! - I can't help love how well you get across the situation, how much I can understand why they're going through the motions the way they are, and therefore sticking so well to the show, and still there seems to be a clearing in the distance, some light, some optimism - diverting there from the show, because from watching the JAM scenes of the show all we get is a fat scoop of depression topped with a cherry of never-going-to-happen...oh, the writers, how they torture us so!

And how well you read them still! ;)

Amazing stuff, as always, tv_dream: it's not funny how much I love this story. I literally jumped when I noticed a new chapter up [while I kept refreshing the Most Recent page ;)].

Author's Response: Heh... yeah, the Safety Training promo is what made me realize I had to even Jim out a little because he's obviously speaking to her in some capacity by then. Will definitely be interesting to see.

I always love your reviews as they sort of confirm what I'm shooting for. Sometimes I feel like I'm just rehashing the episodes - and I am, in a way, but I like to imagine the undercurrents, so I'm glad it registers that way! I see things happening and I think, "Oh my god, I totally know what that feels like." and here we have the fruits.

Hehe... glad to know I'm not the only one who refreshes the page endlessly. At work. When I have a pile of crap to do. Like right now! :)

Thanks for reading!

And I have to say the wonderful poem-ish, prose-ish feel this entire story, let alone this amazing chapter, has - beautiful stuff. As always.

I adore the way you shifted from her laughing to crying with such unbelievable ease - pretty bleeding perfect, if you ask me - and then direct and courage and honesty - and then the descriptions!! If done right I can fall in love with descriptions, and I'm JimandPam-head-over-heels in love with your decscriptions. You know that that is a lot. So subtle, so little, so perfect

I love this story.

God, I love that you managed to get that across - this horrible, so strange a relationship that Karen and Jim have, so awkward, unsure that they have to have a 'discussion' the next day. I love that.

I loved this; plopping the sombrero on his head, laughing with his old and tapped laughter, instructions in their office short-hand, feeling ready to SQUEAL because she didn't think he would ask her.

I loved that she's remembering last year because we did, too; I didn't love, however, that he returned and she thought he would stay but it didn't. Stay that way. And that just really, really wants to make me cry and jam their heads together. Idiots.

Oh, God, I want them together. If I owned Jim Halpert, I would put him with Pam first. If she died, though, then I would be next. =P

Loving this story!

Oh, picturisations, dry land. Oh, Jim. Oh, mention of Dwight that's completely in-character. I love how the chapter opens and finishes, Jim is one messed-up guy, and he needs a life-saver, big time.

I'm in a good mood and have been since I realised this means there will be more chapters in the future! Good news - nay, great news! Can't wait for more. =D

Possibly one of the greatest, most brilliant, most lovely, most awesomely-written stories I've read in recent times.

I freaking love the way you've written it, as the PaminHerDad'sTruck disappears and brings out PamintheBlueDress, how it's only Jim who brings out the PaminHerDad'Truck, how she's losing herself, how she realises there's a world of dreams between her and the guy she thought she needed to love and was meant to love, how that world the GuyintheParkingLotwiththeGoofyGrinandtheEyesandtheLooks offered to her - this moment of realisation was beautifully captured in the way she slides off her ring and feels weight fall away - she's breaking free.

Can I say that I adored this? I loved this? I think it's brilliant? And
And then he kissed her, no, she kissed him, no...they kissed made me sniff and smile at the same time.

I don't think I can possibly articulate what else I love about this, because oops, I think this is already longer than the story itself. =P Brilliant job, though; you deserve more reviews.

Pam and Jim make my heart and head hurt.

I love the ellipsis, in those last few lines; she doesn't have an answer, she's still lost, but she doesn't have anyone to talk it over with, even though she has some friends...I'll admit I was mildly disappointed with the JAM in Gay Witch Hunt, but it makes sense, and I love the show more, and I feel so, so bad for Pam - especially Christmas for her? Will you be covering episodes from the third season?

They're really packing it in hard on us.

I can't wait for more, though. =P

I don't usually like the use of caps where you can put in italics and bold and stuff but it added to the effect this time so it was good.

You only meant to say goodnight. Yeah, it does seem like it's more of a second thought to come up to her again at the end of the episode, and I love that you mentioned that.

you're pretty sure if she looks at you like that one more time, you're gonna break. oh, genius. Jim, you are painfully stupid. And protecting yourself too much.

I need to smack these two's heads together.

Harvey was right, Pam did look hot today?
Amazing.
This fits Jim in so many ways it's a little scary, actually.

And don't even get me started on Pam: thinking of Jim even after the PMS comment? Oh, goodness.

Idiots.

Reviewer: moofoot Signed

I love how so many of these sentences seem like she's trying to assure herself, much more than anything else, and it's so painfully Pam I want to hug her. I think part of the reason this is hurting me a bit more than Jim's hurting in S1 and S2 and all is because I know he has friends, a life, basically, but Pam? It seems her closest friend is her mom and if she's made any friends since then she's not saying anything about it.

These two make my head hurt.

Loved this chapter.
