I love this setup. It feels pretty true to Jim and I'm fascinated to know where you go from here.

Ok, that was an excellent continuation. Very much looking forward to where this goes from here. You've got a great premise and the characters seem natural in their reactions to it (though I of course wonder about Pam's POV).

I'm still really enjoying this. I like Jim's perspective especially; I wonder what the poor guy did from 4pm on.

This is seriously excellent. Mostly because it's such pure wish-fulfillment from my perspective, but it's also believable (I'm with you on Roy).

Well dang, this is a turn of events. I love when Jim and Pam have opposite interpretations of what's going on with Roy, so this chapter was right in my wheelhouse. Keep them coming!

Oh dear. I mean that in the best way. I think they are going to regret this in the morning head-wise at least. Hopefully not in the heart.

Author's Response: Well, it's definitely going to get a little bit angsty coming up, but then again, you can't have Pam and Jim without a side of angst, can you? ;)

This is a really good chapter. I can't believe you dropped a bombshell like that from Jim and it's just sitting there unanswered. Like Pam's cell. Can't wait to see what's next.

Author's Response:

Thank you! I had so much fun writing it :)

Trust me, it will all be unpacked in the next chapter!

"Roy wasn’t an obligation. Roy was a choice."

"She thought she had a choice to make, when in reality, she had a lot of information to process."

Oh Pam, you have both. I don't think of this as particularly dark, just as thoughtful and necessary. Keep it up! This is one of those stories that will really hurt if it goes on longterm hiatus, because it's very engaging. You have a style of writing that makes long sections feel short, because they cover a lot of emotional ground in a small space of (story) time.

Oh dear. Pam, Pam, Pam. Didn't actually have that conversation, did you? Oh dear.

Just checking in to say I've been reading this religiously and I really appreciate your work. At points I'd like to see more consequences for their hanging out (ie more deviation from status quo Office) but as you've just made a big AU turn I think that's coming, so no complaints ;). This is a great story, keep it up.

Love where you went with this. Hoping we get a bunch more of this moment before the story moves forward again.

I think you did and are doing a great job here, to be clear, but I've got to side a little with your Jim against both your Pam and you on one point. I think it's fair that Pam and Jim have a lot to talk about and it's not all sunshine and roses, but your version of Jim did say a lot more than the TV version, and I'm not sure your Pam has earned her shock in the same way--though of course, your two have their own traumas over and above the TV pair.

Poor Jim and Pam! Shouldn't have met up near work. This is still delightful, and I'm glad you haven't lost track of it.

Have to admit to wondering about their choice of living arrangements, but otherwise this was absolutely lovely like the rest of the story. Great use of the webcams.

As always, a wonderful (and incredibly detailed) chapter. Congrats on finishing this amazing story. Now, any chance we get more of your other WIPs? After all, if finishing one feels good...

This pushes most of my yuck buttons in terms of Ryan, but you do a really good job of hinting and maneuvering around, and so it's actually really enjoyable. Very impressive work. And I love the D/A insert in there.

Author's Response: Thank you! No matter what I write, Dwight and Angela have a way of sneaking in, hence the username.

Hey, thanks for contributing for the community! Just so you know, for me at least it was very immersion-breaking to have two supposed Cornell alumni talking about bowl games in the 90s as if the Ivy League played in bowl games. They don't, and haven't since the modern bowl game system evolved. That made it very hard to believe using that as a verifier of Cornell identity.

Love this story. I like what you've dove with Pam especially. Is this within the continuity of "More than a day, more than a word"?

Author's Response: Thank you for your comment! Yes, I greatly enjoy writing a bolder, more aware Pam. Yes this is my first time spinning off from my own fic. More than a day is meant to be Canon compliant, but I couldn't stop thinking about the 2005 chapter and what if Pam attended the party that Jim talked about. So kind of within the continuity but also an alternative version if that makes sense

It lives indeed. This is a hard decision for Pam and I think you're doing very well at having her actually think about it and not do either easy option. Nice chapter, as always.

Reread this and still love it. If you ever wanted to extend it further I would 110% read the heck out of it.

Author's Response: Glad you enjoy it enough to reread! Yes I need to finish this one, and now that we’re swinging back around to Valentine Day again...

Summary:

Just as quickly as life can give you everything you've ever wanted, it can take it away on a dime. When tragedy strikes, will Jim and Pam's love be able to stand the tests?

Set during the summer between S2/S3.

For those of you who watched Lost or Once Upon a Time, the theme of flashbacks will be heavily played with in this one :)

I love this story a lot, and this chapter fits in very well. Even if you're not 100% proud of it, there's a couple really great points I noticed:

"It was the week he had started working at Dunder Mifflin." This explains so much about your Melissa plotline and also Pam's behavior that week as reported in canon, so nicely done.

And Jim's reaction to her I can't and her noticing his reaction are both very well done too. It's very touching. Looking forward to whatever you were setting up here.

Okay that managed to be both adorable and in tune with the rest of your traumatic brain injury concept. Bravo.

Oh this is cute. I mean. It generally is. But this is particularly so. And I like how Pam is trying to treat Jim right even though she can't necessarily remember why.

Oh that is adorable. Thanks for letting the characters do what they wanted to, because this feels... well, like the warmth you describe Pam feeling in Jim's shirt. I'm very interested to see how the visit goes. She's gonna have to deal with Michael...

You make me cry a lot with this story in general, because you're really good at evoking emotions. But this one in particular. I feel blessed that you got us to this point with 3 updates in a day too. Thanks so much.

Specifically, I like Roy actually being helpful, I like Pam being triggered by all sorts of things, and I'm a big fan of everyone in the office being actually respectful for once. Well done. Out of jellybeans for this a long time ago, but I'd give you all 5 for this chapter alone.
