Aww, look at Pam sucking up to Jim's parents. I see you and your whiskey lessons, Warrior.

Good to see Betsy how I like my Betsys... cheerful and lovely and not hating Pam for all of the drama that really, her own son was responsible for, but still, I get why Pam felt the needed to play nice and I'm glad it worked in her favor.

We're finally here! The reveal is about to happen and... I definitely didn't see this coming! To be fair, I don't remember the conversations from the first chapter, so I had to go back because I didn't get where we were going with this whole stink bomb thing. Good to see Pete and Tom are sticking with classic pranks, even all these years later! Makes me feel better about slamming my cousins' hands into butter every thanksgiving for 8 years running now.

I like that Pam is the one figuring it out and I love that she's confiding everything to Larissa for confirmation.

Oh Beesly, what are you planning??

Author's Response: Three fold reason for the whiskey lesson. One, write what you know and writing is easier. Two, because way back in the Mini-Golf chapter I'd written that Ger-Bear was big into whiskey and it gave me to chance to explore that. Three, the lesson primed Pam's mind to have smell trigger memory as happened with the stink bomb.

Thanks about the critique about Betsy. I've usually always seen her pictured as a warm woman and saw no reason to change that.

Glad I could keep the suspense up with the first reveal. I'd had the image of Pam kneeling on the floor going through the box since I started writing this story and it was fun to finally bring that out. If I recall a review of yours a while back, you were saying you'd like it if the sisters had a role in the reveal. I'd already been planning on Larissa being a part of that, but it's fun when things line up like this.

As for what Pam has in mind? Well I'm sure you'll find out soon, but it's a lot of fun.

Lord knows I love a good scavenger hunt! Good job, Pam!

What a lovely and fun look back through their history, from present and going back and I'm sure there are a million little bits I could point out that are adorable and cute, but here's the thing Warrior -- all I can think about is the fact that Jim is doing wind sprints. He's doing wind sprints instead of trying to get to Pam. Oh Jim.

I mean, you nailed it, Warrior. There was a lot of build up to this chapter, and it's everything it should and needed to be!

Author's Response: To be fair, he didn't know where to meet Pam while he was running those wind sprints. And he only had to run 5 this time rather than all the ones he did back in high school.

Thanks. It was a ton of fun to have this trip down memory lane. My first thought was to have all the notes Pam wrote him to be in poetry, but your comment in a chat awhile back when I floated the idea as well as my feeling that it would hard to come up with poems for everything nixed that.

I'm very glad you liked how this chapter turned out.

I'm not shy about saying that Niagara is my favorite episode of the series, but I'm always a little disappointed that we don't get to see any of the reception. It's always nice to see how others think that reception might have gone... This is no exception.

This is a cute and satisfying ending that wraps up the last loose thread of an amazingly detailed and intricate story! You pulled off a story of epic proportions and didn't lose sight of the characters at the heart of it. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much for this and every other review you've written here. As well as comments during chats that have helped shape this story. It wouldn't have been the same without your input. I'm very glad you've enjoyed it so much. It was a fun story to bring to life and I'm very glad others enjoyed it too. I'm a little sad to not be working on it anymore, but there are other stories to write as well. Again, thank you so very much.

Summary: What would happen if the events of Casino Night took place during Season 3? Basically, Jim never confesses to Pam in the Season 2 finale but moves to Stamford anyway. It’ll be a wild ride.

Summary:

When the secrets of one employee cost the others twelve hours of peril, locked in the office under a hostage situation, true colors begin to shine through.

Essentially taking the General Hospital Metro Court hostage crisis from 2007 and pretending it happened in The Office, so if you've seen it, some plot lines will probably give you nostalgia... :)

I bet Pam wishes she had joined Creed and Stanley outside for their break after all.

Is it weird that I enjoy Kelly being her usual self and okay, maybe I laughed when she got slapped for her karma line. Only because I really believed that’s how it would have gone down. I also loved Michael and Dwight manning up and trying to protect everyone.

I knew it was coming but, oh man, that shot. Ugh.

And now I want garlic bread. And the next chapter, please!

"But all in the same, the weight of her words matched the heaviness of their chests, the need to simply be together after all that they had been through." Oh cool. We're starting off the end of this story with immediate heartstrings being pulled. That's fine. I'm fine.

DWIGHT. Dwight trying not to cry over Pam. Sigh. Ugh. This might be my favorite fic version of Dwight ever. He and Angela got their happy ending and I'm so glad for that. After everything they just went through, they deserve it.

The comparisons between the different tortures they've been through, Jim crying on Pam's shoulder, and her trying to apologize for that silly little fight? I said I'm fine.

This ending. THIS ending. Damnit, you did it again. It's so good. And perfect. And wonderful. All the good adjectives apply here.

I have loved this story start from finish. I love that I got to experience it twice... once in Port Charles, and then again in Scranton. It has been so much fun to read, and the way you used all the characters...

I'm just saying. If you wanted to tackle the MetroCourt Fire next, well... I wouldn't hate it. You know, in your spare writing time.

Thank you for writing this!

I'm so glad that Pam (and everyone else) is out of that building! And she's conscious enough to know that Jim is there, and has been there, so that's also a good thing. I'm relieved.

So, all of Jim's thoughts about Pam and she keeps his beer in her fridge and the blanket on her couch and these are the little details I love most in stories and that whole passage is so lovely and perfect. And now I want a story where Pam takes care of a sick Jim. Add that to your list.

Agian, I winced... I had a physical reaction to just reading the lines where the paramedics ripped the duct tape off of Pam.

"Oh crap. The garlic bread." Oh crap. My drink all over the computer screen. As someone who's been concerned about the garlic bread from the very beginning I'm SO happy to see this callback. My priorities are clearly in order.

Get out of there, Larisa. Let these two have a few moments to themselves. I'd say they'v earned them!

I love this story so much! But now that I know where Jim and Pam are, I need to know how Dwight and Angela are doing. And maybe Phyllis too.

Hi, my name is Coley and I’m living for this version of Dwight in ways that keep surprising me. His balance of keeping everyone alive but making sure Angela knows he loves her is just so Him and it’s great and nope, I’m not crying or anything over here. It’s cool.

Pam thinks this is her punishment for waiting and that she’s dying and this is all very sad and I don’t like this and she’s making her last thoughts be of Jim and “I’m just waiting on you Halpert” and how he looks like when he’s asleep and his eyes and damnit AG, this is all very good and now Pam’s even calming ME down in her dying moments.

You’ve done such an incredible job with A and his team and all of the action parts of this story. It wouldn’t normally be something I’d be able to follow along reading I don’t think, but you’ve really figured out how to describe the panic and the fear and the fact that the building is about to blow.

I love Goofy Jim too.

Ugh. Good try, Meredith! I was rooting for you. Angela here just breaks my heart - from the line about weeping for her own defensive mechanisms all the way through the comparison of Jim and Pam to her and Dwight... it’s just beautiful and heartbreaking and you and I will have words if they don’t end up together at the end of all of this.

I’m so sad about Angela and now I have to be see Jim doubting Pam’s love too? Meredith should have stabbed me with that knife, it would have been less painful than this is.

Rolph! Hey buddy! I have been anxiously waiting to see who your Spinelli would be. Does not disappoint.

Dwight and Angela making jokes to keep Pam calm ... seriously... just kill me now because it’s all a little too much. All too much in the best of ways, but still.

Ugh. This is so good. So, so, damn good.

Ugh, why do I love this pairing of Pam, Dwight, and Oscar so much? The rapport between the three of them in this hostage situation is honestly, just great and if you want to write pages and pages of them just joking while Pam is possibly dying, I'm just saying, I'd read it.

I ALMOST forgot Meredith was waiting for her moment until the end there. And Creed's ramblings... what a perfect cover. Seriously.

"You operated on me in the middle of an office building. With kitchen supplies." I'm not crying. You are.

I'm not ashamed to say I had one of those charlie horse cramps in my foot earlier today and I thought it was the end of the world, so I feel really bad for Pam here, okay? She's being held together by duct tape and only has vodka to dull her pain and Jim is in the parking lot and Dwight and Oscar are comforting her and there's just a lot going on in this chapter. And it's all brilliantly written and I can't wait to read more!

Yep. A is for sure pissing me off. You know who's not though? Larisa. She's a badass and I love it. And then Angela and the yogurt lid medal? Ugh, loved that too.

It's so weird that Dwight operating on Pam in the middle of the office makes as much sense as it does, but it does - it makes perfect sense. Even with a Friday cliffhanger ending...

You're doing such a good job with so many characters in one spot at the same time. Very happy to see Dwight, Angela and Oscar successfully keeping Pam alive so far.

What I love most about this chapter though is the relationship still between Dwight and Angela. I like how well they still work together. I like that Angela is pretty much ignoring Andy. I like that they know each other well enough to keep things going without getting anyone killed.

And I love that Meredith now has a knife.

I am SO excited for this! I mean, I've already lived through it once, but I'm so ready to live through it again, Scranton-Style.

Fantastic action-packed start. I was tensing up as I read it, wondering who was going to make it out and who wasn't. Your Angela is perfectly on point and I can't wait to see what's been going on for the last 12 hours.

First things first, good to see Jim got some garlic bread. Phew.

I like this Dwight a lot. And Michael and Andy too! It’s nice to see all of them coming together to try and save Pam while poor Jim is stuck outside.

I vote yes on the map. Just for fun!

Author's Response: Jim getting garlic bread was honestly a pivotal plot point, thank you for noticing.

My heart broke a little when Michael had to leave Pam's side. I gotta say, A is really starting to piss me off.

Oof, that’s a lot of dynamite.

Poor Angela! I felt especially bad for her in this chapter. Dwight continues to be great - he’s kind of exactly the person you want around if you’re in the middle of a hostage situation. I’m excited to see this version of Larisa too.

And off-topic, but not really - I had to go watch a few of the YT videos of this to remember Jerry’s voice and I had forgotten how pretty Emily’s hair was. And then I spent 2 hours watching the history of Emily, so... that’s why my own chapter isn’t finished yet. It’s cool. 😂

Girl.

First of all, love Jim just casually stripping his way through Pam’s apartment. I wouldn’t have been able to get any homework done either.

That. Wink. It killed me. That was good.

This whole idea is so great. Pam’s insecurities and Jim’s confidence in her were both so in character and the dialogue was true.

Pam’s increasing feistiness along the way and Jim’s continued streak of being the sexiest boyfriend alive made this so much fun to read! It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if there was a part two. In front of that bathroom mirror. ;)

Author's Response: Right? I have to give credit to the stripping through the house to my husband, who (fortunately for me) does that often. Art imitates life, amiright? You and AG both brought up continuing things and I didn't even realize I left it open ended. It was in my head as just a one shot, but I have to admit to having a few plot bunnies now. We might definitely see a part two!

Summary:

 One-Shot

Jim receives a phone-call from a very drunk Pam the night of her wedding. With her wedding opening a fresh wound in his heart, he doesn't talk long before silencing his phone and going back to sleep.

Pam wakes up with fuzzy memories of the night before, horrified at what she might have said in the voicemails she left Jim.
