I love Toby in this chapter.  This line:  Toby lingered awkwardly, then said quietly, almost inaudibly: "You and Jim...you're both really lucky." is so great.

And I loved this:  But here she was, and he knew instinctively that she was teetering on the edge of something. Or maybe she'd already fallen.

Such a great chapter.  I really love this story.

I read this three times in a row.  Each character is written perfectly, you did such a great job with all of them.  I laughed at Dwight, and felt so sad for Meredith.  I do have to say that I liked Pam's best, because this line?  She thinks Jim would say something like that.  She knows he would...is so very true.  And the end was so sweet and hopeful.

Merry Christmas, and thank you for this!

Author's Response:

Thanks!  Merry Christmas to you too!

I am giddy over this chapter, moxie.  Completely giddy.  I would comment on the first half of the chapter but time doesn't exist for me until that shower scene.  I can't even count how many times my stomach did a cartwheel reading Jim and Pam finally being able to be together.  I love how you've made their first physical contact so sweet and beautiful and so worth the wait.  I canNOT wait to read Chapter 12!

Aw!  YAY!  I loved this chapter so much.  First, this is the best Jim/Pam morning wake-up I've ever seen written.  So comfy.

I like how Jim and Parma are like practically BFFs now!  And I loved the kiss and what she said here:   “I want this to be my second chance,” is just so perfect.  LOVED THIS!

A few light bits and pieces I'd accumulated (have written enough angst lately, thanks.) Since they were just languishing, I figured I'd resurrect Vignettes and send them out into the world. Each is a stand-alone, NOT a chapter in a work-in-progress, so feel free to jump in and out. (I'm thinking there will be 3-5 pieces, but will have to see how the mood strikes me.)

If I owned these characters, would I be writing this stuff? Seriously. No copyright infringement is intended.

Seriously, nothing hotter than Jim playing basketball.

I love the idea of Pam getting Jim so turned on, and him getting all flustered.  And I love their playful banter.

These Vignettes just confirm for me that Jim and Pam are meant to be, and you just sort of know that all they really need to be happy is each other.

Author's Response: Jim + basketball = my favorite daydream. Glad to share it with the like-minded!  I figure it could be years before we see anything this happy on the show, so I had to take matters into my own hands. Nice change from writing stories where I torture them too. Thanks so much!

You have such a wonderful way of writing perfect little details.  I love the idea of Darryl trying to help Roy get over Pam and every one of Roy's flashbacks was so realistic,

This broke my heart: He could tell by her voice that he woke her up, but within half an hour she was there, her hair thrown into a sloppy ponytail, her eyes red from either lack of sleep or tears.  He cried in her car the whole way back to their, no, his, apartment, and begged her to stay the night with him.  He could see her hesitate, but then she helped him into bed, took off his clothes; she even sat next to him and wiped his face with a cold washcloth and told him to sleep.  By the time he woke up the next morning, she was gone.

So beautiful and sad, especially Pam not having his gift with her when she left work.  I'm glad Roy decides to give in to the dance after all.

Wonderful, as your work always is!

Author's Response: Awwww, you always leave the sweetest reviews! Thank you for the feedback, when I sat down to write about Roy, I found he was a hard one to get in, head-wise...so I'm so glad that his flashbacks seemed realistic.  Thank you thank you thank you. :)

I like that Karen was very mature about the whole thing.  She told Jim how it was in a very matter-of-fact sort of way, and I do believe that she wouldn't stick around after a blow like that.

Michael's known about the reason for Jim's transfer for some time, so it's only fitting that he'd let the ball drop in such a drastic way.  We know he can only hold a secret in for so long.  And he really thought he was doing the best for Jim, and in a way, he is.  Of course it wasn't any of his business to do it, but Michael always recovers from being at his absolute worst in some of the best ways.

Jim is so in denial, though.  I hope things get better for him!

Author's Response: Yeah, I'm hoping Karen takes all of this maturely on the show. She's a little bitter for obvious reasons, but I tried not to make her hyper-sensitive about the situation. Thanks!

Okay, I don't think I've read anything this funny in a long time...unless you count the first time I read this over at yankeeficswap.  First of all, Michael's car smelling like NightSwept?  Clay Aiken?  Michael's idea of a what panty raid is?  And Pam...she was in on it the whole time.  I like that Pam let it happen without calling earlier.  Of course, my personal reason for that is because I think Ryan can be kind of an ass at times.  But her reason was good too, because I think she of all people knows that you never really know what you're going to get with Michael.  I like their little moment of commiseration at the end.

Author's Response: Thanks, 69 cups! And you know what? Originally, I had a different ending. When he asked why she didn't call earlier, she was going to say, "Because you got the desk." (Jim's, that is.) But I thought that was too snarky, and the other ending fit with Pam's pro-Michael behavior this season. Anyhoo, thanks!

Oh, good lord, girl7...you're going to get me so sucked into this.  Jim's pain of being rejected by Pam is very ostensible and clear in this chapter.  His feeling of satisfaction of being able to come back and "blow her off" so to speak, is very real.

I'm really loving this so far!
