Michael returns!!!! So, remember how I said I wanted you to write me into the story so I could punch Ryan? Request still stands. Also, I don’t think I have hated Karen in a fan fic more than this one. Does she not understand that Ryan and Pam literally broke up for a reason, therefore forcing them on a date isn’t the best idea? Oh, and Karen 100% knows about Pam’s feelings. She is completely onto her. But Karen is in for a rude awakening that Jim shares those feelings. Also I love the touch of Isabel saying she wouldn’t want to think about Jim in that way, clearly showing how she obviously does not have feelings for him.

Author's Response:

Haha, got to have some Michael. And lol! Your request has been noted. Poor old Ryan. And Karen. And yep, she is 100% onto Pam now...

Thanks so much for reviewing! :)

OH MY GOODNESS! Let the bells of Dunder Mifflin chime out their love! This story is just something. I hate angst, lets be clear. But it is all worth it for this chapter. This chapter was perfection. God, I loved this chapter. But I gotta say, this is a Casino Night ending, so if you continue down that path and don’t bring them together, I don’t know what I’ll do if that happens.

Author's Response: Haha - thank you!! That's amazing to hear, I'm really glad you liked it :) I can promise that the next chapter is not going to be a play-by-play of Gay Witch Hunt, if that helps? :D Thanks so much for reviewing!

MICHAEL IS MANAGER!!!!! When you had Karen crying about Michael, I knew what was about to happen. I literally thought to myself, if Jim postpones this to be nice to Karen, I will drop kick Jim into oblivion. And I can neither confirm nor deny whether that happened. Even though it didn’t happen then, I still feel hopeful. The two of them aren’t directly addressing it, but at the same time are addressing it without words. So, I’m hopeful for tomorrow. I’m sure it will be very interesting with Michael coming and the Pam and Jim storyline.

Author's Response: Haha, I couldn't leave Michael out forever. And lol, drop kicking Jim! Hopefully you can forgive him, especially now that he called Pam...Thanks so much for reviewing :)

Wow, a lot to unpack here. You wrote Michael perfectly. And the way you wrote Jan’s frustration towards him was spot on. Karen is at the breaking point. I don’t blame her, all heck is breaking loose right now. The scene with Karen and Pam was amazing!

“And I’m not going to tell Jim, so you don’t have to worry about that.” Bit too late for that sister. And “I know Jim is fond of you.” Yeah a bit too fond. And try to get over it?? Pam already tried that and failed.

That scene was hilarious but it’s even more funny that she has no suspicion of Jim’s feelings. Also, I love how you are writing their feelings about cheating. It is interesting how they aren’t fully speaking their feelings, not even saying “love”, but they understand each other perfectly. I can’t believe you are gonna force another week out of us. Just get them together, please....

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! That’s so great to hear :) And hahaha it is a bit too late for that sister...although to be fair to Karen, if she’d said this to Pam like a week ago Pam probably would’ve believed her. And lol sorry - technically Jim said ‘the end of the week’, and it is Wednesday in the fic? :D Thank you for reviewing!

Wow, I really really really hate Ryan. Like I said, the request to put me in the story so I can punch him still stands. I kind of want to throw Ryan out of a window, and that window is on the top floor of the Empire State Building.

I am loving the Karen and Michael scenes. They are much needed comic relief and hilarious.

I loved the little touch of confirming that it was Michael in Chili’s that we saw many chapters ago.

Also, if you have Jim delay the break up, I might lose it.

Author's Response:

Hahaha poor Ryan. I'm really glad you're loving the Karen and Michael though! They're really fun to write. And lol, I will say that Jim is very set on his Sunday deadline...

Thanks so much for reviewing!

IM LITERALLY SPEECHLESS. I’m just in awe of this chapter. Paris?!? Telling Jim she loves him?!?! They kiss?!?! AND KAREN SEES THEM????? OMG. I need the next chapter right this instant.

Thank you for listening about Ryan. I am so satisfied right now. Pam is probably the coolest person in the entire world right now. And all of Ryan’s jerk moments have been washed away with the satisfaction of that.

Author's Response: Haha, thank you! Next chapter coming soon :D and woohoo that’s great to hear on Ryan lol, it felt very satisfying to write. Thanks for reviewing!

Wow. What a great chapter. As much as I loved the volleyball hitting Ryan, I kind of want it to happen to Karen too. She is so freaking condescending. She wanted to throw up because she was with Jim who hung out with Pam????? What is that??? And yeah Karen it’s about time for you to realize that Pam isn’t just sweet and innocent. She has ambition, she can attract men, she is smart, time for you to realize that. You couldn’t even fathom a job in Paris.

And what is her definition of a partner? Someone who you debate with?

God, I hated Karen in this chapter. She made Pam seem like this mousy little girl.

I’m glad that they will have their distance. They need time to recover from the guilt and all the drama so this time away will help them forgive themselves and each other.

Great chapter as always.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much! That's so great to hear :)  And haha, I know Karen is pretty bad in this chapter - although, to be fair, she's also very angry. So probably nastier than she usually would be. Lol at her definition of a partner! And yes, I didn't really feel like it would be great for Jim at this point to jump from one relationship straight into another one...

Thanks for reviewing!

I loved that exit interview because of one thing. Jim got to do one last middle finger to Ryan as he walked out the door. Now that’s what I call karma.

Because Paris is your equivalent of Pratt I wonder if she will come back like canon or if she will stay.

Karen is annoying as ever. When she finds out Pam is going to freaking Paris, she just ignores how she has treated Pam as this unambitious person. Like, wow Karen you are the manager of a midrange paper company. Congrats. You aren’t an artist in FRANCE.

Love the little reference to canon with Pam’s dad with him dating Christy like canon.

I loved the cuddle scene. I have a feeling there is going to be some reunion when Pam returns...

Author's Response:

Haha yes, I did enjoy writing that! And we will see on the Paris/Pratt comparisons :D Karen is...still Karen. To be fair to her, I think she's still reeling a bit so is not really in a place where she's going to be feeling generous towards Pam. And lol yes, she is just the manager of a midrange paper company. I'm really glad you liked the cuddle scene! A reunion may be in the works...

Thanks so much for reviewing! :)

Wow, just wow. You’ve outdone yourself. Truly an amazing ending to the story. Beautiful chapter. I was just so happy reading this.

I am not a huge angst person but this angst compelled me and kept me reading. It’s hard for me to continue reading angst. Though I will say you assuring me in your answers to my reviews that it will end happily kept me going. But this was incredible and all the frustration and sadness I endured while reading this masterpiece was worth it.

You are truly a talented writer. Please keep writing on this site, I will enjoy all your stories. You have such a beautiful descriptive writing style without being too descriptive and you craft your character’s flaws and strengths perfectly. You are also great at world building. With all the flashbacks, it is obvious how outstanding you are at writing an overarching story.

Thank you for this story, it brought me a lot of happiness and sadness. I always heavily anticipated your updates and was overjoyed when I saw your story in the most recent section. Thank you. It is sad to see it end but I hope you continue to write on MTT.

That last paragraph being said, PLEASE WRITE AN EPILOGUE.

Author's Response:

Haha, I am working on an epilogue now! Thank you SO much for this review though, those are really amazing things to read and really kind of you to say :) And thank you for taking the time to leave reviews throughout this fic - I’ve loved reading every one! I really appreciate it. (And thank you for persevering with all the angst, hehe).

Wow, I have no words. I thought you had ended it beautifully last chapter but now I see that statement is completely wrong. THIS is an incredible way to finish a story.

I loved the flashback to the college story and I loved the tidbit of Pam saying that she thought Jim was just too lazy to move but now she isn’t too certain about that. Loved that little moment. Also enjoyed how Pam is thinking about her future in 10 years in college and in present day, but both futures include Jim.

I loved their second time because you incorporated Jim thinking of their first and you did his comparisons beautifully. I loved how he had not stopped thinking about that night and how Pam was exactly how he remembered. When you posted the epilogue I hoped for their second time because as amazing as their first was, we all knew it would end badly because it was a flashback. But, now we know this time will end well.

Their talk about their first time was very emotional with them wishing for this to happen earlier much like canon. Also loved how you said that they have already talked about the past and resolved it.

And of course what an incredible way to end it, with Pam thinking about what her future may hold but knows marriage is the only sure thing and then rolling over to fall into a deep sleep alongside Jim.

Like I said in my last review, you are an amazing writer and this story was incredible. I am very grateful for this story. PLEASE KEEP WRITING!!!

P.S. Sequel?????

Author's Response: Thank you so much! That's so kind of you to say :) I'm really glad you enjoyed it. And yes: I really wanted them to have a better second time with a happy ending! Thanks so much again for leaving all of these reviews, they've been incredible.  I've not currently got any inspiration for a sequel haha, but I do have another idea that I'm thinking about writing...

First of all, Ryan is a giant prick. Basscop, if you could, could you write me into the story so I could punch him? Because I really want to. Also, I cannot wait for Karen finding out about Pam and Jim because the belittling of Pam from her is absurd. It’s like she thinks Pam is incapable of anything remotely smart. I can’t wait to see Karen’s smug little smile get wiped off her face. And I gotta say, I love how you made Karen like this in the story. It is so different from canon. In canon, Karen is always on guard to watch Jim and Pam because she knows Pam is a threat. But here she has no clue and it is very refreshing. I cannot wait for the engagement party. I have feeling that it is going to be the climax and something big is going to happen. Still loving the story.

Author's Response:

Hahaha that would be something to see! Poor Ryan. Well, not really. I am really enjoying writing Karen like this, lol. I will say that she might be starting to get a bit more wary shortly, at least about Pam.

Really glad to hear you're still loving it! And I hope the engagement party delivers, gulp. Although I can't confirm whether it's going to be the climax of the story...

Thanks so much for reviewing! :)

Jim do you not understand why you are sobbing? I know you may not realize your feelings for Pam but when you sob when you just moved in with your girlfriend, that’s a bad thing. I have no experience with that but I think it’s not what is supposed to happen. So maybe you should just think about your feelings and just break up with Karen for once and for all.

Author's Response: Haha he will get there, I promise. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Karen is probably the most clueless person ever. Those videos she sent Pam??? C’mon. But I get it, Pam doesn’t really put herself out there as a confident person. But her looks and beauty aren’t changed by her happiness! So, to see Karen surprised at Andy being attracted to Pam is just crazy. But, it will be great when she finds out the truth. I can’t wait to see her reaction to Jim being in love with Pam. I desperately hope you show us that. Great chapter as always.

Author's Response: Thank you! And haha, I think Karen thinks she’s being helpful...but sadly not. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Pam, Pam, Pam. Why? Jim was going break up with Karen and you go out and apply for the job. Now he is going to stay with Karen. Basscop you are evil. Luckily there is hope on the horizon. This engagement party is going to be important I feel. I’m not going to lie at the beginning of the story when you said it was loosely inspired by “Something Borrowed”, I couldn’t stop myself from looking up that movie and seeing the summary. And the summary says something about a certain 30th birthday party and is this engagement party the equivalent? I don’t know but I feel like the climax of this great story is soon.

Author's Response: Hehe, sorry :D There is hope on the horizon though. And I can confirm stuff will be happening at the engagement party, but I will say that I'm not following the Something Borrowed plot down to the letter (just to manage your expectations, lol). Thanks so much for reviewing!!

Ok, I just love love love Karen’s monologue here. It’s hilarious how her contempt for Pam is so freaking present that she thinks of Jim and Isabel. I just gotta say Karen, you better watch out cause Pam is about to come and bite you in the heel.

Author's Response: Haha, thank you so much! It was fun to write. I will say, it's not *entirely* Karen's fault here: Pam does also spend her whole time trying to pretend she's not interested in Jim and supporting Karen and Jim's relationship, whereas Isabel doesn't like her and doesn't like their relationship. I know which friend I'd see as a bigger threat if I was going out with someone in that situation...

Okay, first Henri needs to take a chill pill. And Two, I know this is supposed to be a bad thing for Pam but I am rejoicing. Normally getting fired and especially when you’re trying to find a home is a bad thing. But I feel like Jim is going to stay for at least a little while because he knows he can’t just leave her on the streets. So right now I’m happy. Thank you. I’m still really nervous though.

Author's Response: Thank you! And haha, I will say that Pam getting fired is going to have consequences for the two of them in a way that moves the story along. Also, I don't think Pam getting away from Henri is the worst thing in the world.  Thanks for continuing to review :)

*Sigh. As much as I want to write in all caps and just push out my anger at Jim and Pam, I can’t. I’m just wrecked and exhausted. I truly understand the pain Pam is going through because of her mom but that doesn’t mean that night was a freaking mistake. Losing her mom is going to bring a lot of sadness to Pam, so why don’t you want so happiness to cheer you up in Jim? You literally said you love him and you finally see that he may have feelings like you and he isn’t with Karen SO WHY ARE YOU PUSHING HIM AWAY??(Yeah, sorry I can’t resist the all caps sometimes). I don’t know if I can handle Jim getting back with Karen. He was so strong and firm by saying no to her but I think he is going to just cave in because of another Pam rejection. I’m loving the story and you are doing a fantastic job but please please tell me there is an end in sight? I need another chapter 10 but with a happy ending.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! (And I'm really sorry for all the heartbreak/exhaustion/frustration, lol).  If it helps, I'm not sure that Pam was in a place at this point in the story where she was ready for a new relationship, on top of everything else - so some of this is also her just clinging to what she knows.

But if you can handle it for a bit longer, there will be an end in sight! I think this is the peak of the heartbreak.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, I really appreciate it :)

So many hints to the past in this one.
“ Pam’s also not sure she could live there again, after college”
“She tries to remind herself of all the reasons she’d been unsure about living with Jim to begin with”
“She was meant to have given up on the hope of anything more a long time ago.”

“She thought she’d lose him after college. It had felt miraculous that she hadn’t.”
Btw I was practically screaming at my screen reading the conversation between Jim and Pam at the end.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I promise I will stop dragging out the mystery around the past *very* soon. (Maybe next chapter soon). And haha, sorry about that at the end...

Wow. I am shocked. Never saw this coming. I guess Jim lied to Ryan last chapter. Interested to see how they move past this and actually become roommates. Like how do you move past this? Pam’s first time was with Jim, does he not realize the importance of that? And why Why why does he get back with Karen after this????

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reviewing! (And sorry for the shock haha). I promise all will be revealed in future chapters.

But yep, Jim did lie to Ryan. Pam may also not have been entirely honest with Isabel...

Basscop, do you know what you do to me? Because you surely can’t. My heart rose to the sky when I realized Jim would stay in Scranton and we could say bye bye to Ryan. But then you just looked at my heart and laughed and cruelly shattered it into a thousand pieces.
P.S.This means I’m loving the story

Author's Response: Haha - sorry! And thanks so much :) I’m so pleased to hear you’re loving it (despite all the ups and downs). Thank you!
