i just read these all at once. i should be going to sleep, but when i read this line, i knew i was in for the next 26 chapters:

 

And I'd sort of kill to be drowning again...

 

that just seems so perfectly jim -- i imagine it in the same vein as his "i'd save the receptionist" line. like he's so tired of hiding it and can't be anything but brutally honest. love it!

i love this -- it's so exactly what happened, and so perfectly painful.  just like they've been all along: so close, but just not close enough to get it right.
