Author's Response: Every time I see that scene, I want it to go this way. At least to have my first line be Pam's first line, no matter how it went after that! Strangely, the scene plays the same way every time. I think my DVD needs fixing.
The 55 words thing is kind of fun. You can't obsess too long over only 55 words, nor is there much space for plot, setting, description, if you have dialogue! It sure makes writing simpler.

Wow, sad last sentence. This is a really great look at how things might have been. I like how Roy isn't the bad guy, he's just himself.
He paused for a second, looking at her in a way that he seldom did. It was a look that, until that moment, had always made her heart race.
I like how Roy and Pam can still have moments like that, even if they weren't meant to be!
Yeah, I wasn't trying to make anyone the bad guy. I just wanted to look at how things could've happened if Pam hadn't been able to take that leap of faith. But I'm really glad she did because this is sad.

Ha! This is a fun blast from the past, I love how all of the characters just happen to be in the same place. I LOVE the ring toss prank, it felt so in character for all three, and I really love that Pam's best friend is named Michelle, since that is my name, and I started high school in 1996 (I was not, however, any sort of slut).

I'm glad I could bring a little 1996 back for you! Michelle was the name of my childhood best friend. She moved when we were in hs. But she was crazy like the Michelle in the story and I used her as my inspiration.

I really like this so far! I like that even though they're in love, it's not all rainbows and puppies. This partwas particularly wonderful:

But now, they were reeling from the results of their actions, the uncertainty of their future...on their 30 minute lunch break.
