I was around this site many years ago, during seasons 4 and 5, and then went on an unexpected hiatus for several years. I'm back and better than ever! Finished up one WIP ("Sociology 101") and might finish another if inspiration strikes. For now, working on new material and enjoying being back!

This is my favorite chapter of anything I’ve read of yours, because of the imagery of the monuments and Jim being confronted with all these things he perceived as failures. It’s a great way for him to grapple with these things and a wonderful indicator of how much these things have shaped him as a person. Hopefully he knows how much Larissa loves him, and I have a feeling that we’ll get to see him find out how much Pam loves him, too!

I think we'll get to see really soon how Jim reacts to the love from both these women, but I think you can rest assured that he knows how Larissa, at least, feels already.

First thing, when I saw the title I *immediately* started singing that song. Good pick!

Second, this is such a great start and such an interesting take on territory that I feel like we’ve all taken a stab at. I’m excited to actually see Danny in a fic and I’m excited to see what Jim has to say about their date. I thought it was so sweet how they were hesitantly honest with each other but not just word vomiting everything, and the end! The lingering kiss! That was a great detail. Can’t wait for the next chapter!

So good! It’s always nice to see a bit of humanizing when it comes to Roy, and grief is such a powerful thing. I think you’ve translated it’s effects really well in this chapter. And I love getting to see the backstory that we missed on the show! So far this is all in character and well written, so much so that I’m accepting it as headcanon. I can’t wait to see where you go with this; I’m especially looking forward to a glimpse of college aged Jim/Jamie!

Author's Response: Thank you. To be fair, don't set your hope to high for Roy. At this point he's there because he's cannon and as I'm not writing an AU. Backstory is fun to write for me because you get to explore what made a character into who they were when we first see them. Next chapter will include college age Jim to be sure.

I’m so so so excited to read the next chapter when they finally are in the same room after all this time! I know it won’t be so easy, but I all the same I can’t wait. I liked the peek into the early days of Athlead and I think the entire bar scene/breakup scene was written really nicely. I also always enjoy a good Larissa moment! Can’t wait for your next chapter!

Ahhhh!! I was so sad to read that she’s lost the sketch, then so glad that she’d gotten it back, and *then* so excited to have her looking at it right as the subject came in! Even if she doesn’t know it’s him (or he knows it’s her) and even if there’s still a long way to go, I am loving every second of this. You’ve given them such a great backstory and it feels like it all could have really happened. I literally cannot wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you liked it so much. I had a huge grin on my face when I thought up the ending to this chapter. It's what kept me driving through all the rest of the stuff I put Pam through. (I'm sorry Pam) There's still a lot of backstory to create too as according to what I've dug up they'd both been at DM for a few years before the show started. So lots of time to play around before we run into canon, kind of. ;)

Finally got a chance to sit down and read this and I LOVE IT. I love the darker elements of people dying, the initial confusion and worry as they try to figure out what’s going on, and I REALLY love how you’ve written Dwight. I also do appreciate the use of underutilized characters, because they are all so entertaining and have stories worthy of telling. I don’t mind the Oscar/Gil/Brian stuff at all but I will admit to wanting some Jim/Pam at the same level of intensity ;)

I do hope you’re able to complete this WIP, because it is as outstanding as anything else you’ve written and I enjoyed reading it so much. No pressure of course, but we will be here to read when you are ready to write some more!

So I’ve never watched General Hospital and I *so* wanted to watch all the YouTube videos about it, but I practiced restraint so that I could experience this story for the first time through this lens. So I’m excited! Also, I don’t think their argument was OOC at all. I bet they argued more than we ever thought they did, and I bet at one point or another Roy’s name was brought up in some context. I think it was believable and it certainly added a lot of tension to an already suspenseful story. I know back when I was first on this site, there was a great beta reading program, which is basically just sharing your story/chapter with someone before you post it so that a second pair of eyes might catch things that you’ve missed. If you’re worried about your work being “rough,” you might ask in the shout box if anyone would be willing to beta read for you? If not, I find it helpful to finish a draft, leave it for a day, and then come back with fresh eyes and reread the whole thing. I’ve caught a ton of minor mistakes that way and have even rewritten almost entire chapters. It also helps to read it aloud to yourself. Please don’t think I’m being mean, I just wanted to give some tips that have helped me in the past. We appreciate you being here so much and look forward to your future writings! a86;a039;
