A great reunion between Jim and Pam. I enjoy stories in this universe, where Pam is regretting the terrible mistake she made.

Ooooof. This is the epitome of bittersweet. And the line "not a bad life" is really good use of references.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. Getting a review on this 11 years later has made my day. Glad you enjoyed it.

Awww, man. This is such a lovely and creatively structured and in-character version of the first date. For Jim's sake I hope it didn't happen this way, but it's a heck of a story.

I love the little moments of friendship between Pam and Karen, and the idea that Karen could give her this really helpful (and as it turns out very true) advice when she really needed it is kinda wonderful.

This is a lovely little piece of domesticity.

You do such a good job in this fic capturing the voice and personality and likely choices of the entire ensemble - and in giving your Toby a sweet little bit of revenge. Funny, clever, and well written.

This is an adorable slice of domesticity - and I love that your love of the Jim-Cece bond is still just as strong a decade later.
There's just a lot of really good lines in here, it's kind of hard to pick them out. The image of young Jim having serious discussions alone with his father on a fall morning is lovely, as is Jim's dance around the kitchen with Cece and sheer desire for first-thing-in-the-morning Pam.
It's great parenting fic and also just a great Jim-and-Pam fic. I like this a lot. ::pours one out for NanReg::
Author's Response: Thank you so so much!! I love that you’re going back and reading older stories! This one is an oldie but a goodie, and yes, I love that Cece/Jim bond. I can’t get enough of that! I’m so glad you loved this parenting fic!! And that you like my work enough to keep reading more!

This is gorgeous - and I love the idea of Season 2 resolving with a Big Jim Gesture followed by a Big Pam Gesture in response.

Awwww. Poor sleep-deprived Pam. Make her feel better about it, Jim, if you could keep your hands off of her for five minutes she wouldn't have this problem.
Author's Response:
Right? Totally his fault. :). The “talking head” style was a little tricky in fic. It was hard to incorporate them without overdoing it. I think this one is pretty well balanced. (I’m being forced to re-read some of these to know what you are referring to, and it is a fun exercise! So thanks for that.)
thank you!

HI again.
Been devouring your stuff lately and enjoying it as always.
Love Daddy Jim - he is so endearing. And just how we imagine him to be at home with his daughter. And Jim the husband, still passionate about Pam.
Thank You for her - Just got me right there.
The present is such a cute anecdote -love the way the humorous touches are tossed in throughout.
Tell me - was there some reference in the show I can't remember to coconut shampoo Jim uses or is it just coincidence since I refer to Jim's coconut shampoo in my story too. Perhaps we both have the same image of Jim.
Ending just what I would expect - new parents are always a little frazzled but they make the best of their evening. A beautiful birthday story. Bravo.
Author's Response: Maxine, you did a deep dive here! I think I wrote this in college back in 2009! Thank you so much for giving it some life again! I think every man I ever dated used coconut shampoo. It smelled good, but they didn’t feel emasculated lol. I think Jim is pretty comfortable but he still maybe is a bit insecure about his emotional side. So coconut shampoo it is Lolol
Thank you so much for deep diving back! I highly recommend my fic Paint by Number if you get to it. It’s a really fun read and it’s completed! I was 22 then, but still loved writing and was studying it at the time! Now it’s just my side gig, during the day I’m an Assistant Director at a college. Very different :).
Thank you for coming back again and again!!

This story is marvelous! It hits all the notes on sweetness and fluff and office humor/teasing, and JAM banter. Really well done.
I love the part JAM adjusting to growing up and growing old. Having a kid will definitely make you take stock of those things. Thank you for this lovely story!

This is lovely. I’ve always loved the thought of fleshing out Pam as Erin’s surrogate big sister/life mentor. You did a nice job with that. Oh! And I love how Karen’s role and advice came full circle. Thanks for this!

Thank you for this. You probably won't even see this review, but if you do, know that someone was, with a birthday approaching in a few days, having a really rough time, and this helped.

So, I watched The Hangover this weekend for the first time and the way the guys spend the day discovering what happened on their Las Vegas bender the night before made me think of this story. What a fun re-read today! ... And it still makes me smile that both of our stories had a little Groundhog Day hook to them.
I haven't been around here much lately. I hope all is well with you!

This is one of the first stories I read when I discovered this site and this remains one of my all time favorites. Well-paced, vivid imagery (even without the photos at the end), and very believable. Overall, a great introduction to fan fiction. Indeed, this is the first story I ever showed my wife and she not only loved it, it made her cry (in a good way).
Author's Response:
Thank you so very much, Labhub,/b>!
There are so many great writers who've posted at this site ... I remember that excitement of finding positively riveting, well crafted stories that just sucked me in. I feel really privileged that you feel like my writing did that for you! Thank you for taking the time to come back to the story later and leave a review. Made my day!

This story is so truly beautiful! I just love the way you had things happen. It was so neat that even as Jim was contemplating leaving he was planning out the perfect birthday for Pam and also leaving a piece of himself behind so he wouldn't be forgotten. It's just beautiful how Pam has all the pieces and slowly puts the puzzle of their lives together herself. She can see the thought and care and love and the time that Jim put in to making her day so special with the hand picked flowers and gift picked out specifically because they have meaning to her She is able compare them to Roy's flashier, showier flowers that she originally though were full of meaning only to find out that they had no meaning at all and his gift that he was SO proud of himself for getting her but se was able to see it for what it was, Roy simply didn't know, or care enough to get her a gift. He probably didn't want to bother with the time picking the perfect gift would take. Then there is the lunch and dinner I'm sure she compared... Jim's lunch at a place hey love, partly because of the time they get to spen together just on the drive, and taking the time ahead of time to get them to order the turtle cheesecake (mmmmmm makes me hungry!) and also to have them set up 'their booth. then there was Roy's dinner at the flashy expensive resaurant where they were uncomfortable. I'm sure she HAD to have spent a lot of time thinking about those meals and the time she and Jim spent laughing and having such a great time compared to that stuffy uncomfortable feeling. One guy was quietly showing his love, expecting nothing in return while the other was just flashing money without thought and really expecting a lot of praise in the end.
Again... so beautiful, well thought out and such a perfect way to bring them together. Jim doing his thing, giving Pam the pieces to the puzzle and Pam taking the time to examine her life and the meaning of it all. OH yeah, and the fact that Pam had knit Jim that beautiful sweater and was then afraid to give it to him, absolutely perfect touch. I think examining that was probably the last piece to the puzzle for Pam.
You realy do put put beautiful stories that I really love reaing so much! Thank you for sharing your skills as an author with us!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for spending so much time writing the detailed reviews that you leave. It is VERY cool to have someone get this excited about your writing!
